Okay, have to ask. Is there a chance of making another Myst game? Like, Myst or Riven style, where you go back to pushing the art aspect above everything? Like, back to setting the standard, kinda thing? I know it's a lot to ask for, but that was one of the major things the Myst series was known for. It was the reason I got my first real computer. I had to get a 3.1 gigabyte hard drive, back in the day, when THAT cost more than the entire rest of the computer. Riven took a different entire computer to play. After Riven, it felt like the art took a backseat, but I miss the games being stunners.
How is the development of the Riven remake going? I understand it's coming out in 2025? Really want to know the continuation of MYST story, but the original horror is just impossible and uninteresting to play. I've only played MYST thanks to realMYST, and I still don't understand why you wasted your time on mediocre subsequent remakes of realMYST instead of making realRIVEN back in 2000? Been waiting for realRIVEN for over 15 years now!
You clearly have no clue, what it would’ve taken to do a “realRiven” version around the year 2000. The amount of detail that went into Riven is just ludicrous, and trying to make that work in a “realTime” environment would’ve probably broken Cyan. Not to mention the fact, that it probably also would’ve broken your PC, back then. You wouldn’t have played it for long, because it would’ve been unbearable. Normal PCs just wouldn’t have been up to the task back then. Well, anyway, that’s how I see it. I might be wrong though.
@@user-no9wi4vu3x 1 You're wrong! Have you even played realMYST? What complex objects are we talking about in Riven that aren't in Myst? Animation of water, swaying trees, birds in the sky and even the change of time of day were realized in realMYST and the Plasma engine pulled it all off normally. I do not see any problems from a technical point of view, realize realRiven just like realMYST and MYST 5. 2 I didn't say they should have released it in 2000. It seems to me that after MYST 5 was released in 2005, realMYST could have been released a year or two later.
Merry Mystmas Cyan. Hope you all have a great holiday.
Love the Myst mug... 🥃
Just received my "Riven 5" shirt and mug, and my Moiety dagger shirt. :D
Merry Christmyst!
