@MrHossie True but I feel that is where a passionate fan base technically versed enough is so important. KSP2 can be a framework for great experiences even if the devs drop the ball. Hope they follow through though.
The game obviously has everything 'ready' to be put out. Science, multiplayer, interstellar stuff, its not undeveloped as some people may think. KSP2 Early Access is likely gonna be more like slowly releasing these things and easing us in so they can properly see what works and what doesn't rather then sending EVERYTHING all at once which, if they've made any mistakes, could cause major issues.
While modding can give you a similar experience as what ksp2 promises, you akso gotta think about performance. Modded ksp is notoriously hard for pc's to run. Especially graphics mods
I am glad they put a lot of effort into the tutorials for how orbital mechanics work. The first game got a few bad reviews simply because people could not figure out how to get into space or control their orbits, transfers, etc., and that caused many new players to just give up and return the game. The tutorial they've showed off so far not only explains it well, but it does it in a rather simple manner that should be easy enough for newbies to understand and have fun with.

I don't see modding support on the roadmap. On the one hand, you'd expect it to be there from launch. But on the other hand, it stands to reason that eg multiplayer would be heavily impacting on how mods are made.
KSP2 is probably the only game I'm willing to spend money on on early access. I've spent over 2000 hours in KSP1, making it by far the cheapest game I ever played in terms of cost per hour played. That is, if you disregard the multiple pc upgrades during the course of its lifetime.
Hopefully they fixed the docking or non docking issues I’ve had on XBox. So frustrating to bounce off the the target that many times I’d ram one craft into the other at full thrust to end it. 😂
I think that is up to your preference. I will likely buy it direct and link it to steam (to keep track of hours played!) -- I think it might come with its own separate launcher :(
oh man i was hoping for colonies to be in from the get go but if it comes out a couple months after the early access release then thats all right i guess but i am so excited!
Is is just me who found ksp one easy? Once I figured out that big solid rocket to orbit I was set for that. It only took me like an hour to dock 2 craft in LUNAR orbit for the first time. 150 hours and I’ve probed eve and landed on mun, Ike, and Duna(came back). The reason I don’t have like 1k hours is because of small tech tree. I also figured out basically on my own how to build an ssto .I can now do all of this stuff in my sleep. I’m a really fast short term learner tho (SHORT term tho I always hit a ceiling).
Too steep a learning curve? Come on! I feel like I bought KSP and got Scott Manley for FREE! Its one of those magical things that will likely never be repeated.
Yeah… without that guy I doubt I would have been able to dock after that feature was added. I kept zooming past the other ship when trying to rendezvous. Never realised the surface speed could be changed to relative velocity by just clicking on the indicator after targeting the other ship.
My biggest hope for the game is that it breaks the terrible part-count curse. I hope to have stability in the game so I can have ships with thousands of parts, made of up several mods, without losing frames
@@finnthewastebin1503 i will get it in early access just because the savings but it probly won't be at launch. (no way I'm paying 70$ for a game unless it is earth shatteringly good)
The more I hear about this game the more skeptical I feel. All the chaos of the development cycle, the delays, the early access and now the price point and roadmap have quite effectively killed my hype for KSP2.
They mention it in one of the dev blog articles on the site - dev diary #12 Procedurally generated when they are being created by the development team then added into the game -- not in actual game. developers and environment artists will use procedurally generated terrain tools (and in this case planets) to make the basis of an area, then go in and add finer details ---- it saves time from handcrafting every single aspect. good reading those dev diares are!
I just discovered KSP1 and love it. But um....originally meant to release in 2020..and now 2023..and still considered early access..and missing key features on its early access release..lol wtf did they plan to release in 2020 if it's this unfinished. That all said, I'm 100% getting this on the 24th. Just from ksp alone. Man the rush of getting that first orbit..was unreal lol after I failed 100 bloody times. Now Reyes is like a little son to me. He's survived the most insane accidents and incidents. It's insane lol.
Ok, listen. 1, being "worth" it is entirely and exclusively subjective . 2, early access means many different things in the current gaming environment. The term only carries a negative connotation due to a few poorly handled situations. In the instance of KSP2, however it is just a way to get the game into the hands of the very enthusiastic community more quickly. that's it, really, that's it. You will not receive any less of a game than if we waited another 3 years. At the moment, AAA titles tend to experience around 5-6 year development cycles, and we don't want that, and I know you don't either. If you choose to purchase the game on 24th, you will receive EVERYTHING seen on the released road map when it becomes available. They are simply letting us play with KSP2 now instead of, well, much later. So, your question is really pointless...sorry
I used to build huge space stations and used hyperedit to throw them into orbit… but half the time it would start oscillating and end up pulling itself apart due to phantom forces. Usually it was due do two parts intersecting one another. I remember one ship was in orbit and the one end began being pulled down until my interplanetary stack looked like a banana. When it finally snapped the one part shot towards the planet as if it was under 1000 gravities. Then there was the opposite that happened and my ship reached Duna orbit in about a minute… and then kept going into interstellar space. You gotta love the Kraken. Eventually I gave up using Hyperedit because all the effort building the huge stations just meant the kraken ate 99% of them… and the 1% that worked caused huge lag in orbit. That’s why I got a better pc with 32gb of ram ready to play KSP2 lol.

Are you telling me that life support, resource gathering and colonization doesn't improve the game significantly?
@@sacopanchez151 Jup, doesn’t sound very interesting to me. KSP 1 already has great mods for these, so why pay 50€? The only thing about KSP 1 that needed serious improvement is its campaign and progression system.
If KSP 2 turns out to be awesome, I’ll be happily surprised. But as of now I’m skeptical.
I am picking it up day 1, with zero worries about what they will give me. I am looking forward to enjoying providing more explosive rides to those wonderfully green people in the game via ridiculous rocket design.
I don't see modding support on the roadmap.
On the one hand, you'd expect it to be there from launch. But on the other hand, it stands to reason that eg multiplayer would be heavily impacting on how mods are made.
On the sites faq it mentions modding starting day 1
KSP2 is probably the only game I'm willing to spend money on on early access. I've spent over 2000 hours in KSP1, making it by far the cheapest game I ever played in terms of cost per hour played. That is, if you disregard the multiple pc upgrades during the course of its lifetime.
How do you only have 200 subs? This video was amazing!
I need a "for dummies" version! Looking forward to stress out with better graphics tho :D
I have to buy it. KSP 1 with mods was incredible and I still have the game installed.
Hopefully they fixed the docking or non docking issues I’ve had on XBox. So frustrating to bounce off the the target that many times I’d ram one craft into the other at full thrust to end it. 😂
Where should I buy it from? Direct or from steam?
I think that is up to your preference. I will likely buy it direct and link it to steam (to keep track of hours played!) -- I think it might come with its own separate launcher :(
nahh bro, 11 subs and your making a amazing vids, You will get thousands one day :)
Thank you - now there is a bar set for my next videos lol!
oh man i was hoping for colonies to be in from the get go but if it comes out a couple months after the early access release then thats all right i guess but i am so excited!
Land a Kerbal safely on every solid surface and return them in the sandbox. It is a difficult milestone that is rewarding.
Wtf out of nowhere Valheim soundtrack 5:00 , i thought i had it open in my pc
Performance is my biggest issue with ksp1 as well.
Oh yes 50$ for a beta, 30$ I'd do without much question but 50$ is steep, i hope EA buyers get some dlc for free when 1.0 comes.
You will get every DLC and update free, and full price launch will be $70
KSP1 early access players got all the DLC for free -- but that was 10 years ago -- times have changes sadly.
@@finnthewastebin1503 i will get it in early access just because the savings but it probly won't be at launch. (no way I'm paying 70$ for a game unless it is earth shatteringly good)
I tried playing ksp1 and struggled so bad tried so many times to get into it. Hopefully this will change
The more I hear about this game the more skeptical I feel. All the chaos of the development cycle, the delays, the early access and now the price point and roadmap have quite effectively killed my hype for KSP2.
I will wait untill July
Respect the RimWorld music
I really wonder what they mean by «onboarding» in the first step of early accses
Fancy way of saying "welcoming new players" or getting them addicted lol
"steep learning curve"
command pod, fuel, engine
boom, space.
Hearing Valheim music was hilarious! :D
Will there be a Sandbox mode off the bat? 🥺
Yes! That's the only mode that will be available at the start.
What makes you think any solar systems will be procedurally generated?
They mention it in one of the dev blog articles on the site - dev diary #12
Procedurally generated when they are being created by the development team then added into the game -- not in actual game. developers and environment artists will use procedurally generated terrain tools (and in this case planets) to make the basis of an area, then go in and add finer details ---- it saves time from handcrafting every single aspect.
good reading those dev diares are!
@@MrHossie ahhh thanks, that part was confusing
@@nesprogram3182 anytime! i didnt make it clear in the video for sure - kinda mumbled that part too lol!
175 subscribers?? Incredible
I can hear the a Kerbal colony scientist now.
"Alright, who's the smart a$$ who planted the ganja seeds in the greenhouse habitat?"
😂✌
I probably cant afford the game anytime soon, but i am so hypped to see footage of the final product and see youtube go nuts
hell yea, lets go !
There is a price 49.99 USD either way good video
I can't get it day one because my girlfriend and I are going on a date that night, but I have every intent of grabbing it on day two.
Well, with KSP, the Kraken isn't a bug, its a feature. So I expect it to work "just fine" on the 24th. LOL. 😆😜
Yes, it is worth the hype.
Sus
@@emilpoiss8732 Quite the opposite in actuality.
@@adamkerman475 Mr. Kerman, why do i get the impression that you have a horse in this race? 😉
@@VoodooMcVee hm? I’m pretty stupid I don’t get what you mean lol
Your name sounds oddly familiar -- were you one of those tourists that requested a fly-by of the mun?
since the tutorials are gonna be added im gonna try not using hyperedit for everything
As long as the Kraken returns, I'm buying it.
