- Powered by 3D printer technology, people are making prosthetics at a fraction of the cost. Watch this episode of “Superhuman” for the story of how e-NABLE, an online network of volunteers, has created 3,000 bionic hands for people in need (mostly kids) across 90 countries.

I know a man ain't supposed to cry, but I sure did.
I did too. It's okay to cry. Men not crying is part of what's wrong with the world, you know? No shame in being sad and letting it all out, or seeing something amazing and being brought to tears.
An expression of compassion is a sign of inner strength :)
Great ! It allows to advance science and to make people live happy
The children's smiles says it all. Thank you for this selfless acts of kindness. The world is better for it.
Cheers, thanks for the kind thoughts!
Geez, I lost it when the father was talking about video games with his son. Just tears down my face.
I still get teared up every time I hear it. Btw, I’m the dad in the video. Thanks for the comment. :)
Andrew Delisle thanks for letting me know. Stay cool dad. :)
This is a great chanel, and I think it should be recomended to the school curicullum, since I take DT as a HL in IB now and this is very good research and iducation content. Thank you very much!
Wow, this is incredible
How can 22 people dislike something like this?
This is so amazing awesome
Well dammit, I'm getting choked up. Maybe I can work for you Painting the arms? I have painted prosthetics before. Biotats.
Thank you , it make feel great !
Great story for sure. Nope, that's just some heavy humidity coming from my eyes...
That’s amazing
A truly selfless act. Protected it from getting patented. This video brought me to tears, maybe society hasn't lost all hope. This is truly awe inspiring.
It doesn't matter that these guys didn't have a master plan in the beginning, they moved forward and made e-nable come alive with their actions!
My daughter will probably get an e-nable hand in the near future and ultimatly that's because of you guys actions and though processes.
You're Heros in my book!
Thank you!
I've always been interested in engineering, robotics, and general building of things. And I've focused most of my life around that interest. I'm on two different robotics teams, trying to get into an engineering high school program, and focusing my college outlook on good engineering schools in my state. But I've only ever been confident in the fact that I want to go into "Engineering". Now that I've seen this video (and others like it) I know exactly what I want to do. This. Build and design devices/robots that help enrich and enable people who need it the most. Yah domestic robots that can get you a drink from the fridge while you sit on the couch via voice command would be cool. But why bend to the privileged, when you can enable the disabled? Make the world a better place through the people who need it most first. Make worlds and lives of people who need it fuller of joys and experiences first, rather than privileging the common man further. Create innovative solutions. Not domestic luxuries.
Early prosthetic limbs had focused on utility despite not being particularly useful while trying to appear in the same form as the limb that was lost or didn't function adequately. Now prosthetic limbs have far more utility but resemble toys, jewelry or custom accessories. It's a really interesting time. Even adhesive bandages tried to be functional, but match skin tone and draw attention away from injury or disease. Now they are better in so many ways and come in different colours or character prints. I'm sure somewhere some sociologist or psychologist must have written a paper on this.
😭 This is so awesome😊
Freethink, I love your channel and this video, and I'm going to ask my local hackerspace about getting involved with e-NABLE, but I have one bone to pick: At 0:10 that person is just flipping through their mechanical engineering design homework. I own the same textbook.
b roll
There has to be a way I can contribute my time to this cause.
There is! Check out enablingthefuture.org/
That’s amazing good luck
So nice
Would be cool if you could silicone dip them to create skin.
Looks cool tho I wanna know how the fingers movements done?
The fingers are tethered to the forearm with strong fishing long, when the user bends their wrist in, the fingers close in a fist. Purely mechanical, no electronics or batteries required! Check out my video of how it works here: m.ruclips.net/video/py1O1dT6DQE/видео.html
Wario will hunt down those dislikes!!
Any group like this in Fort Worth Tx?
Can we have a sale of the 3D printer?
Omg my name is Aidan

Shout out to everyone who recognized Starwhal as Starwhal when the kid was playing it.
I live in Egypt and have a neighbor who needs a hand like that. How can I help him get one made ?!!!
Thank you a million for the good inspiring work you do and may God bless everyone involved .
希望3D打印技术可以帮助更多的残疾人,为他们的生活带来方便,让他们更佳自信。

Go to enablingthefuture.org/!
Thank You so much

Our God is a cruel one
Aku6Soku1Zan god does not exist, if he does, he left this planet a long time ago
god has everything to do with it. he supposedly controls everything right?
There is no god. He was made up to try to make everybody a nicer person because if you didn’t you would go to “hell” but it went too far and almost everyone now believes in this magic superhuman
Aku6Soku1Zan Stop talking about God. You are a dumbass
They are all pussy bitches who don't have enough courage to admit their mistakes that's why they blame God all the time 😂.
