Lauren is now Kelly's age when the show started.
The fact that Kelly never wanted children but she considers her tv daughter as her own warms my heart. It just goes on to show that the casting for GG was spot on. They were all totally believable as a family, and the fact that they consider themselves family just goes to show how perfect they are. ♥️
With Lauren’s mom passing away while filming GG, Kelly really became her surrogate mom.

This show was ,is and will ever be a masterpiece , I’m 24 yo today (pretty much the age Rory graduated Yale ) and ive only discovered it a month ago and ive binge watched it i really was stuck in it it gave great sensations. And now that i ended it i have PSD and realising it was concluded way back in 2016 is even more sad. I wish i was contemporenous and i wish i could meet one of the actors (is it absurd to desire the impossible? )

So Kelly Bishop changed my life. Memories of being 6 on my gramma’s couch, watching Gilmore Girls - turned into being enraptured by her performance in A Chorus Line as a teen… which turned into me using “At the Ballet” as an audition song which lead to me being admitted into my dream college in NYC… we both moved there at the young age of 18…which lead to me discovering that she was a Colorado native with a tough relationship with her father… and she found herself by devoting her life to the arts. We have so much in common and her life has influenced mine without me even realizing it. She means so much to me.

My daughter Lauren , now aged 41 , and I now 66, used to come home from school and work and cuddle up in my room watching Gilmore Girls. Those were sweet times for the two of us. I’m not sure what exactly her younger brothers might have been up to during our mother daughter tv sessions .😮 I recently decided to watch the entire series start to finish. I have laughed and cried and marveled at each character. What stories! What settings! What actors and writers! It is fun now ..to not miss ANY episodes… as tv shows back then were on for a night and over unless you videotaped them. So now, to have access to the entire library without commercials is really a delight. To watch with the subtitles is always great because you can catch every word! Rewinding is great for making sure you understood a scene. I have kind of lost myself in Lauren and her shows and books and interviews. I am totally NOT in the acting business but through her lens I’ve seen a lot of how it seems to work. I feel connected to her through all her work. I absolutely love her personality and how she can make the human experience relatable to experiences I have gone through… in her professional life and as a real person. My daughter Lauren and I are team Jess. 😂 sending lots of thanks for the years you put in. It’s through Lauren Graham that I got to know the other actors as well. Kelly and Alexis and Keiko and Melissa and Scott and Ed and all the cast! Fun to be introduced to them, love seeing the genuine friendships between all the cast. Also have watched the Parenthood series many times through! Love it as well. Keep on shining ladies! You look so fabulous! Wow!!! Impressed! Just beautiful.
I am a year older than your daughter and my mom is a year older than you. 😊 We also watched it together. I am team Jess, too. I am watching the show again but not really binging it, but slower. (still on the first season). Planning to read Lauren's books soon.
Lauren’s books and Kelly’s book are all wonderful but if you want a really great experience, get the audiobook also. They both read their own books so it is like having them in your living room.

They were right about Gilmore Girls being a show that will win the test of time. It’s a cozy show in which you grow with the characters. The vibes are immaculate and you can’t find another show that quite fits the bill the way Gilmore Girls does. It reminds me so much of women I’ve grown up with and gives me a heartwarming nostalgia. Hats off to all the cast and crew on this show. Thank you for creating a masterpiece that will forever live in the hearts of its most devoted viewers. ❤
I watched Gilmore Girls first time in 2015 when I came to the US from Ukraine…Now, almost ten years later, I am back to Ukraine and I am still watching the show to overcome sleepless nights and stress from constant air alerts…Some weeks I even fall asleep with the show because it calms me down…I am so happy to see this dialogue and to listen to my favorite voices again at night before going to bed 🙏💛💙🥹 I love you and thank you for your hard work!!! We all learn perfect English and aspire to as equivocal as Gilmore Girls ❤️

I love love LOVE the realistic career conversation toward the end. She emphasizes how important hard work is, BUT she acknowledges that you should maybe try another career if your acting dream becomes a tedious chore with no real payoff. 10/10.

I just realized that the scene where Emily is showing Rory videos of old ballroom dance competitions, and Emily is really into it and descriptive of the dancers' performance, Kelly actually could have been genuinely into those details, cause she is a dancer! 😍 I love it more now
We need an update ASAP!!!! It breaks my heart that the years keep going by with no update. And I definitely want Kelly in the updated show because it was not the same without Edward Herrmann!
The Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows. I love the wholesome aspect of it a lot. The humor, the wit, the drama that doesn't keep you down for long. Everyone's role matched the actors/actresses so well

This was so great, so nice to see them together and chatting about Kelly’s book. I am actually on GG season 2 for my fourth or fifth time, I lost track! I rewatch it every fall. And of course Dirty Dancing is a favorite of mine.

It's my favorite show of all time. I have watched the reruns at least 10 plus times. Also, the show had such a special meaning for me, all my 3 daughters, and myself, who watched together it was something we shared. And still share. Now we talk about who the father was.

I've been waiting for this to get uploaded omg!! It was such a delight watching Kelly and Lauren discuss Kelly's new memoir. Lauren was the perfect choice as the host. I also can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the book! However, I seriously wish that Alexis showed up to this event for at least a few minutes so we could have all three Gilmore girls together... I understand why she couldn't make it or be a part of this, but I'm sure she's cheering her on from wherever she is, just like all of us. Anyway, I'm sending major congratulations to Kelly because she deserves this accomplishment as well as the success of her career up to this point ❤❤ (This is such an iconic moment in pop culture history that we're witnessing right now. Like I genuinely feel so lucky to be alive and watching this because it made me so unbelievably happy. I'm actually about to cry because Gilmore Girls is my favorite show, and it's truly everything to me because Rory and Lorelai's relationship is so similar to my relationship with my mother, who passed away last year in July, but ignore the whole teen pregnancy stuff along with the drama the girls went through, of course, so we're basically the same as the Gilmores in our dynamic. The first time I watched the show was in 2012, but I turn it on every year during fall and winter, and now, after my mother's death, it feels like I constantly think about the show and watch a random episode or a scene on a daily basis just to feel closer to her by watching Rory and Lorelai. My mother was the Lorelai to my Rory, and it honestly works because we're so similar to the characters, and my mother was such a bubbly and vibrant spirit like Lorelai with her confidence and independence, and I'm just like Rory, an English major, who often also felt overprotected by my mother, which is why I sometimes found myself at a crossroads during my life in terms of my academics because I've always known what I wanted to do, but now I've been unemployed for a year and have graduated from university for over a year, but I'm sure I'll figure out what to do next after I properly deal with my grief, and don't worry, I did not drop out like Rory did even if I get why she did that at one point due to the way she was raised, so I kind of relate to her in a sense, but I'm glad that I have a stable and present father who isn't like Christopher. This video right here is a treasured gem for sure that will please literally any fan of Kelly Bishop, Lauren Graham, or the show, Gilmore Girls! 🥰)

I have listened to all of Lauren’s books and I am looking forward to listening Kelly’s book also. Hi there, did you notice Amazon says Kelly is reading, but the name they give is not Kelly’s. I pre-ordered expecting the paper book, and ended up getting/ordering audible. The voice is alright but not what we would prefer, I’m pretty sure.

Update: So far the first hour is wild. There's a performance by the original Broadway line-up of Chicago. Kelly is truly luminous, she blows all the other hosts and nominees off the stage, she's mindblowingly gorgeous and her dress, even by today's standards is 👌👌👌 Ed's being all humble and professional.
When it gets to a boring bit, I pretend I'm trapped in Emily's living room watching old ballroom vids and it exponentially improves the experience 😅

They did, more than Lauren and Alexis did, which is a bit strange considering Emily and Lorelai were at odds throughout, and with Rory it was such a beautiful relationship.

@@dalewall3726 Yes Mae Whitman, I know. Funnily again, Sarah and Amber were never really close on Parenthood, unlike Lorelai and Rory.

Occasionally I hear about Amber, America and Blake showing up to support one another on their projects. Sometimes Alexis is there too but not as often as the other girls. I have read and listened to all their books and the books are all wonderful so the best advice I have is to get their audiobooks also. They both read their own books so it is like they are with you in your living room or car. Really a great experience!
