They SHOULD move the Muppet 3D into the Lightning McQueen building, that way they could put the blimp back on top AND keep the last Jim Henson work alive
It seems so obvious to do that and expand that area to become the Muppet Studios. So simple and a very cheap solution that keeps the Muppets in the park and relevant.
I was a cast member at Muppets Vision 3D for over 3 years. I agree, Disney needs to perserve and continue to show the movie and affects. Being the last project Jim Henson worked on, it is of historical importance and sentimental value.
Thank you Tom for your honest opinion. I take back everything I’ve said. You were genuine and honest and didn’t let your media lister status get in the way of your honest opinion. Thank you so much
One of the things I appreciate the most about this show is that you really do get us, the Disney Fans. Also, that you tell Disney when they do something that doesn't make any sense. Having the fortitude to say things that need to be said and to say it with respect, says something about your character and I applaud you, Tom and Thank you for saying to Disney what we would all like to say to them. My hope is that they read the comments on this video and listen to Us, the people who purchase tickets to their Parks!
I have watched this channel for years. I have seen both good and bad Tom rants. This is the most "Oh Hell yeah" rant I have ever watched. Thank you, Tom. You are spitting facts all over and it is perfect. Best Tom rant I've ever watched.
Absolutely!!! We need MORE MUPPETS; not less. It should be a dedicated area with multiple Muppet attractions. FRAGGLE ROCK would be an awesome addition also.
Jim Henson’s legacy deserves to live on and Muppet Vision 3D is part of his legacy so Disney, Muppet Vision 3D deserves to move to be in a new theatre after Monsters, Inc takes over its original theatre. Because if you erase the muppets’ greatest attraction it will feel like The Jim Henson Company shouldn’t of sold them to you. All the things you said on this video Tom I totally agree with you. All my love ❤ to the Muppets.
Nobody watches the Muppets. It's one of those things where you should just accept change! The muppets are outdated and their popularity is not strong enough so٫ nobody will care when it's gone. I mean٫ I've seen the wait time and it's always short. So٫ that's how I know it's not popular! So again٫ nobody will care.
The whole point of Disney world was to have the space to do everything they could ever want, yet every time we get something new, something old has to close. What is the point in all this space if we don’t get to keep what we love?
I won’t ride a rollercoaster and my dad physically can’t (shouldn’t). My son knows a little about the muppets because I have them on DVD and put them on once in awhile (muppets Christmas carol best one IMO). 😢 every time I consider booking a trip to Disney they kick me in the gut and make it so I don’t want to give them my hard earned money 😢
@@AmusementLabs But they understand who Aerosmith is? I think adding the Muppets is a wonderful plan and the most exciting part of this announcement. But I also don't want to lose Muppet Vision 3D
I’m new to visiting Disney World (post-pandemic, you only live once visitor) but in my two visits, Muppetvision has gained a really special place in my heart as a chilled break from the parks but mostly because of how important The Muppets were to my childhood. WDW makes me feel like a child again and that part of the park was pure nostalgia. Jim Henson’s last project must be protected.
Man, I am getting my popcorn ready for tonight when my husband gets home from work so I can show him this EPIC Tom rant! I am here for it! And yes Disney, rebuilt it next to Rock N Roller coaster and make a Muppet Land!
Thank you for saying all of this! It needs to be said and us fans need to let Disney know how this effects us. This was Jim's final project and it doesn't deserve to be forgotten. Remember folks, write, post, reply. Make Disney know in a mature and professional manner that you don't want this attraction to disappear forever.
I'm wondering if this could be what's happening. They haven't announced a closing date for the coaster, and Villains apparently might havea two-year engagement, so if it's 2027 I wonder if that might turn into a mini Muppets section.
So glad we have someone like you Tom who is willing to stand up and speak his mind about something that is beloved! I applaud you! Oh captain, my captain!
Disney owes us so much… Disney World is probably in the worst shape I have ever personally witnessed, they are replacing opening day and beloved attractions like The Country Bear Jamboree, the Liberty Bell, Splash Mountain, and now Muppet Vision. I have really low hopes for this show that will replace Muppet Vision, especially after the whole Splash Mountain retheme. But not just with the parks, aside from Inside out 2, Disney has released bad movie after bad movie, costing them hundreds of millions of dollars. The entire Disney company has been going downhill since 2019, they have gotten lazy and they have forgotten their fans.
Country Bear is still respectful to the original. It also has more appeal. I'm from the UK, and even though it's a historic attraction, my family didn't care for Country Bear Jamboree so we never went in. Now with the Disney songs, they actually said oh hay that seems quite cool.
Last week I was in the same boat as you Tom but same thing over the weekend I was like “why aren’t they just moving this? Like are these board rooms really full of penny pinching nit wits?” Sadly yes yes they are. Well said about the emotional connection
I still don't understand why the completely empty Star Wars Launch Bay and Animation Courtyard gets to live, but Muppets Courtyard had to die. Isn't there enough room if they flatten those two empty buildings to put in the door coaster? They might have to take some back of house land as well, a parking lot or something. But to me, it's worth it to save as many attractions as possible in a park that is sorely lacking in attractions.
Disney is going downhill at a rapid pace. They are shutting down everything that isn’t an E-Ticket attraction to make room for more E-Tickets that are IP based and specifically IPs that are currently popular with toddlers on Disney Plus. They have lost their way with their theming, their customer service, and their link to Walt’s vision. Disney only cares about the bottom line anymore and sooner than later will loose the last piece of good faith their die hard supports have.
I will always appreciate Tom for saying exactly how he feels and being genuinely himself no matter what. Most people don’t have the guts to do that because it’s more comfortable to just conform or go with the status quo. Thanks Tom for always having the guts to do what you feel is right even when it’s hard !
It seems like a no brainer to move Muppets 3D next to R&R coaster. What else are they going to use that theater for once the villains leave. Oh wait maybe a dance party
I totally support moving MuppetVision to the Sunset Theatre. It would be great for that whole area to be Muppet themeed. I don't support replacing the film -- so much of that is Henson's work.
Actually, from a tactile standpoint and 4d effects, it factually isn't. I'm a blind person, and the water squirter works, and the vacuum with air but that's it. Tough to be a bug had everything from seats that had stuff in them, to different types of air blasts, to different types of water. MuppetVision, though, is still a very, very good attraction with amazing writing and some very fun musical interludes, and still one of my favourites.
Disney can fix the issue by building monsters Inc. land over an animation courtyard, there’s way more space over there to build it, and it would look a lot nicer over there, and that way they can keep Muppets courtyard and keep muppet vision 3-D
The word is that the executives who's offices are behind animation courtyard don't want to have to move from there. Because of course that's a good reason to stifle making improvements to the park.
The number of things Disney had done since acquiring Muppets can be count on two hands. I sincerely hope Disney actually listens and gives the Muppets the respect they deserve.
Don’t give up the fight. We’ve pressured them before and we’ll do it again. No stopping until Muppet vision is relocated! We must save this attraction.
The times of making chapek angry are over. Disney would spend 200 million at this point even moving a show because Disney can't build a new ride for under 400 million. An attraction like this should be easily moved but Disney budgets have probably forced them to put money into something new instead.
@ It’s not about making Disney angry but getting them to add it to the protected attractions list alongside COP and the bears, etc. It would cost them very little to move it and to add some cheap brick theming to a new facade. And if they’ll trash Muppet vision they’ll do the same to other attractions years from now, it’s a fight worth having.
I don't know why I still follow WDW news; I certainly have no plans of returning in the foreseeable future after this year's announcements. It's clear Disney leadership has lost their vision. But it's hard to stop caring about something that's been a big part of your life for so long. My sister lost the ability to see in 3D as a child, and spontaneously regained it as an adult one day in the MuppetVision theater. Not in a doctor's office or an operating room - it was Jim Henson and the Disney Imagineers who gave that back to her. It broke my heart to hear that it was being scrapped. If there is any scrap of a soul left anywhere in the Parks division, they will at least consider every practical possibility for rebuilding the attraction somewhere else.
Dang Tom sounds like me now whenever I talk about Disney. Except I’m mainly bitter over them gutting the Das pass for physically disabled people, but that was long before this current mess. It’s just so exhausting and frustrating to see how little Disney cares about their legacy and every guests’ experience not just the super wealthy guests. Maybe things will get better in a decade or two, but it’s gonna take a loooooot of damage control to rebuild the goodwill people once had towards Disney. I hope they listen to you Tom and relocate muppet vision to another theatre.
Hell yeah Tom. Terrific rant which articulated what we are all thinking. Please continue to tell these corporate losers off, we really appreciate you using the platform like this
I agree with Tom here!! We need to form a human chain to protect Muppet Vision 3D!!!!!! If they’re gonna destroy Jim’s legacy they’ll have to go through us first!! Who’s with me!!! Also what’s the address?
I bet you this: If Oriental Land Company (The company that owns and operates Tokyo Disneyland) was in charge of Hollywood Studios...I'm 100% CERTAIN they would have protected MuppetVision 3D! OLC LOVES Disney's history and they RESPECT it tremendously. I just returned from a week in Tokyo Disney and you can absolutely FEEL what I'm saying in every inch of those two parks. Tokyo seemingly loves Disney MUCH MORE than Burbank does. Uggg. Burbank needs to be CLEANED OUT and replace those people with other people who actually CARE. (I now wish that OLC could run EVERY Disney park...trust me, we would ALL love it if they did)
@@WDWNT - Beautiful Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer's Island, Mark Twain, Splash Mountain, original Native American Statue, Bear with native American feather headdress holding cigars, Shooting Arcade, Pirates of the Caribbean original Auction scene and much more? OLC seems to keep the classic stuff and resists canceling it. That park and "Seas" feels MUCH MORE "Disney" to me than modern-day "Burbank's" Disney does.
The Original Space Mountain was built in Walt Disney World starting in 1972 and opened in 1975. Tokyo’s version opened in 1983 and was refurbished and the second version opened in 2007. The new and next version will probably be based on the Guardians Of The Galaxy ride system in 2027.
Amen!!!! It’s time to fight for legacy!!! I think the Csuite forgets about the little things. We have 2 autistic kiddos and they love Muppets 3D, it was the first time they ever sat for a whole show and enjoyed it without melting down. It’s more than a show for us! It’s a milestone and great memories! It’s their favorite, a must do routine for us! They learned about Jim Henson and all of his creations! We can’t let his heart and soul go away!
I love my Muppets ❤️ Don't try to change me i grew up watching them Tremendous impact on my life & many others It needs to be preserved and seen in upcoming years Keep them around silly Disney
I’ve listened to many of your “rants” and I could not love your rant about muppets vision more. You’ve captured everything about why Disney should move it somewhere and keep it as they should keep links to their legacy and the things that are part of the spirit and heart of these parks. I’m going to actually put pen to paper and let them know how I feel. Thank you for the encouragement.
Muppet Vision & Tough to Be a Bug are two of the most nostalgic attractions for me, both lost from the West Coast (& replaced with inferiority)…I hope the fans succeed in “reviving” the show! I think it’s highly logical to do it where Cars show was.
Disney did not "just buy" the Muppets. Henson himself wanted them with Disney because of the protection and respect that he felt Disney would have for them. So this is the desecration of the of those wishes and that expectation. Disney has never quite known what to do with the Muppets- mainly because Disney Inc. has always been too afraid to really let the Muppets be as zany as they can, should, and need to be.
Another example of taking a sledgehammer to the DNA that made the Disney parks so special. Taking classic, highly detailed story driven attractions and replacing them with obviously budget cut, half-hearted attractions . What really upsets me about this is project is that instead of creating a completely cohesive new area, it’s going to be most of what already exists facade wise with a little redressing to an area that’s currently awkward remnants.
My family loves Muppet Vision and the Muppets. I can’t believe the only Muppets attraction in any Disney park might be one you have to be 48 inches tall to ride (in addition to not minding being strapped into a tight seat and flipped upside down multiple times).
I agree with you Tom- you speak for the people. I was thinking the Villain show was going to be temporary so they could test out which villains they wanted to use in MK. Please save Muppet vision 3d
I love how you said this about Muppet Vision. I'm a huge fan of the muppets. I was raised on Disney Channel when they ran the muppets. I was so impressed with the cute theatre setting it's one of the very things that inspired me to work on costumes! I actually experienced the Muppet Vision for the first time three years ago! I was overjoyed to be able to be in that very theatre! The show was amazing and funny and everything Muppety I loved. So yes it does make me very sad it's leaving. Me and Jim Henson share the same birthday too and he is one of my inspirations. Thank you for saying this! We need people like you who speak up respectfully but saying the truth!
I think the theater move promise after villains move out is a superb idea. I also think they could expand on the show by offering the original MuppetVision as the default, but add shows for holidays like Halloween, Christmas, etc. A variety of shows could keep things fresh and exciting.
Hey Disney management: Visitors want entertainment and working attractions. If you need to save money, here are a few suggestions, don't take a bonus, maybe take a pay cut like every other employee, skip adding a new DVC hotel this year, or fewer cruise ships. Just a thought.
Well said Tom!! It saddens me that we are losing the muppets at Hollywood Studios. It was always the highlight of our vacation everytime we go. Please save muppet vision 3D!!
I agree wholeheartedly with all of Tom's talking points - he is impressively thorough, respectful of Disney history and Imagineering but also, has an excellent business and marketing acumen. If Disney were smart then they would attempt to hire Tom. He should be sitting at the table. Tom's passion, understanding of the Disney "product" and guest demographics seems to eclipse whatever is motivating current leadership (seemingly the misguided notion that new / new IP = good / more money). I'm not blowing hot air - Tom speaks like an informed executive with high stakes in the success and future of Disney parks and Disney's legacy. I hope that Disney is listening.
I love what you said about needing to maintain the Muppet legacy. Last week I finally watched the Jim Henson Idea Man on Disney plus then they announce the closing of Muppet Vision, so they have the documentary on their streaming network for fans to enjoy the whole story about him then they now are going to tear the attraction down that was his last great Idea that he participated in. I have lost any remaining respect for Disney management
I feel like they need to keep the Muppets showing until the ENTIRE rest of Monstropolis is built. There is no reason to wall off the entire area, for what will be years before this land is completed. At that time, they can close Muppets down to the new Monsters show. When they do that, they can move Muppets 3D over by the Muppets coaster. But, it seems like the thought processes at Disney these days, don’t ever make sense.
Here here! Thank you Tom, well said. You have spoken from your heart and ours. I believe the magic can happen and Disney will continue to respect Jim Henson... by relocating Muppets 3D. Keep up the good work 🤗
I’m all for MuppetVision moving to the BlackBox theater behind Tower. I’m not mad at Monsters, I’m not mad at Rock and Rollercoaster being replaced with the Muppets. Just give them a new home
Really good rant and I agree with you completely Tom. I'm glad to hear that Rock n Roller Coaster is getting the Muppets retheme but MuppetVision should at least be relocated.
I love what Tom said, “You bought the Muppets and when you bought the Muppets, you bought the responsibility of maintaining their legacy.”
"Legacy" implies care and attention to history. Disney has little interest in legacy these days.

Disney is in its Villain arc right now--with such an easy rememption arc that they seem to keep ignoring. 😢
Right?! 🤦🏻♀️
You go, Tom! As a Muppets' fan, I, too, want Muppets IN THE PARK. NO, I don't want a mural. I want the movie. End of discussion.
Disney doesn't deserve the Muppets 😔
Hell yeah Tom. Terrific rant which articulated what we are all thinking. Please continue to tell these corporate losers off, we really appreciate you using the platform like this
Wife and I just purchased t shirts for April visit. Muppet’s will be represented when we visit.
I agree with Tom here!!
We need to form a human chain to protect Muppet Vision 3D!!!!!! If they’re gonna destroy Jim’s legacy they’ll have to go through us first!!
Who’s with me!!!
Also what’s the address?
human chain i a greed to that

This is great, I agree. I also hoped for this rant for Splash Mountain, too.
(I now wish that OLC could run EVERY Disney park...trust me, we would ALL love it if they did)
I wouldn’t be so sure, they did just bulldoze the original space mountain and they did remove the Mickey Mouse Revue
This is Tom’s best rant! We gotta save the muppets!
Bring Muppet Vision back to DCA. Period. Honor Jim Henson.
We are lucky to have Tom to draw a metaphorical line in the sand for us when it truly matters.
The problem with Disney management is that it's always addition by subtraction. They just don't get it
It seems like a no-brainer to put Muppetvision next to the revamped Rock n Rollercoaster.
I AM SO PISSED AND ANGRY THAT MUPPET VISION IS GOING AWAY!
And don’t have any pre existing conditions that would prevent you from riding 😢
Anyone claiming Tom's a shill for media access point them to this video
Well done tom for holding them accountable
When the "love letter" documentary to Jim Hensen was put on Disney plus, I got worried. Save his project somehow. It is a treasure.
Ooh why were you worried? Don’t reckon the documentary was part of a deal to get the Henson company to support the changes?
Ironically I was the opposite! The documentary gave me a false sense of security 😂
@@melinafiol I can see that, too.
Thank you Tom for speaking the truth. They’re doing the same thing to Star Wars too IMHO. It’s basically buying a successful brand and ruining it.
The true fact that MuppetVision and PizzaRizzo could still be there and Monstropolis would be basically be unaffected is just depressing.
I think the theater move promise after villains move out is a superb idea. I also think they could expand on the show by offering the original MuppetVision as the default, but add shows for holidays like Halloween, Christmas, etc. A variety of shows could keep things fresh and exciting.
This is what got me. The last work of Jim Henson's legacy should be preserved, not torn down. This is so awful. Terrible decisions all around.
I’m hoping they move the muppets vision theater to a new location and they don’t just scrap it.
Never touch the Muppets
❤❤❤❤ *slow claps for Tom's rant* wow. So very well said, Tom. Thank you for that rant.
Thank you Tom!!! Jim Henson's fantastic creation has to be preserved!
Hey Disney management: Visitors want entertainment and working attractions. If you need to save money, here are a few suggestions, don't take a bonus, maybe take a pay cut like every other employee, skip adding a new DVC hotel this year, or fewer cruise ships. Just a thought.
Maybe it's because I'm Generation X, but Muppets 3D for me is a must do when I go to Hollywood Studios....heck I keep still calling it MGM.
YES! Keep MUPPET VISION ALIVE!
Tom, if you have to explain this to Josh D'Amaro and Disney, then the wrong people are leading the company.
Finding executives in any company in 2024, who “get it” is rare so I rather the devil I know than the devil I don’t know
@@WDWNT That's the problem - we keep settling for devils. I closed my wallet a while ago.
Rant on, Tom. Muppet Vision forever!
Ironically, Muppet Vision 3D was going to replace Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at one point.
Here here! Thank you Tom, well said. You have spoken from your heart and ours. I believe the magic can happen and Disney will continue to respect Jim Henson... by relocating Muppets 3D. Keep up the good work 🤗
Can we all agree Disneyland management rules and Disney World management sucks
MAYBE THEY SHOULD MOVE MUPPET VISION WHERE RACING ACADEMY USED TO BE!
I’m all for MuppetVision moving to the BlackBox theater behind Tower. I’m not mad at Monsters, I’m not mad at Rock and Rollercoaster being replaced with the Muppets.
Just give them a new home
Tom doesn’t know how to have a bad take, it’s crazy
I’m requesting Tom ranting about the Muppets at least once a week until they give us REAL proof of them “exploring options” for the show.
Really good rant and I agree with you completely Tom. I'm glad to hear that Rock n Roller Coaster is getting the Muppets retheme but MuppetVision should at least be relocated.
