I'm a firm believer that cities lost to loyalty should become free cities with the small chance to pop a new civ, and a buff to loyalty for a certain amount of turns. It's an interesting mechanic but they didn't do enough with it.
As you bring up, compared to say eu4 Civ 6 gets stale as hell because civs just dont like doing anything. As far as I know for this game there is really no fix and it's one of the greatest letdowns because aside from that (and its propensity for crashing) it's a fantastic title. But, and I have brought it up before in a comment section: try Civ 5, it's _way_ more dynamic when it comes to conquest.
@@highadmiralbittenfield9689 100% agreed. In almost every other way civ 6 is the superior game it's really wonderful but the AI just is so afraid of doing anything.
I think the no loyalty in capitals is the best mod for what you want with no loyalty, it's a good mechanic for extra cities but killing off players is boring
CIV Ai is pretty incompetent, you can try to help them by removing barbarians, limiting the number of civ (great people / wonders / city state suzerainty etc) are in a shared pool between civ, so adding players dilute the power a lot. The AI will never win by domintation (taking all player cap), most of the time in the late game they focus on the science victory or the culture victory (even if you disable it). The combat is one of the weakest point of the AI, they are pretty much incapable to take city once walls are up, unless they have a big science advantage and way better units. I've seen Deity AI failed to take city state for dozens of turns because of a choke. Compared to EU, combat is more complexe for an AI with issue with pathing (one unit per tile, in EU there is attrition tbf), ranged units that are impacted on their range by hillls... and the AI have a lot of treouble with ships and planes. The AI goals is also different, leaders will have agendas that will make them like or dislike others civ but the diplomatic game is shallow, and apart from border friction in the early game, they won'"t conquer a city just to have it because it's a good city and rarely atack a weak neigbours. Ai mods only gives AI even more starting bonuses like the difficullty settings (deity AI is given free techs, free settlers and builders early as well as a % boost in all stat with mod giving even more free stuff, but it does not change behavior, so if all AIs have it; it just speeds the game). There are forever war mods that make peace impossible but you needed other mods to balance the "war exhastion like" mechanics, you could try using that for more action as being at war is what triggered the AI to pump up units. You also should try using balanced mod that give free stategic ressources because the AI still does not know how to use stategic ressources and will lose units because they don't have access to iron/ oil / uranium /aluminium and maintenance is deleting them, the AI rebuils it and lose it again (game mechanis of an extention that was never coded in the AI). Don't put dusater too high neither.
You have the other victory options it seems like. You need to put only military victory as the option and that should Inshallah make it much more interesting. Also love your channel! ❤
I used to do games like this. The lag is really hard to avoid late game lol. Something i noticed tho is the natrual disasters / climate change (tiles changing to floods) REALLY chugs the game. Sometbing about tiles updating weather it be from Natural Disasters or just disappearing completly really messed with my game.
i dont think there is a fix for the crashing and stuff unfortunately. its a problem with civ 6 modded huge size maps since one of the updates i forgot which
does civ cap the amount of ram the process can take up? that could possibly be something to do with it, I know that a lot of games run into issues when modded where they need so much ram but either the game or the game engine wont allow more to be used properly so the game will try to use more, assign memory to no where, and then die.
The issue with no late game wars between AI's is that the ai is too stupid to handle Steel walls. Their ability to conquer more than 1 or 2 cities is completely diminished once those come up. Plus they don't utilize air units well and over produce GDR without the uranium to maintain them. Getting the Deity++ mod and/or another ai combat improvement mod may help these sims but it probably won't fix the issue too well.
Maybe Civ6 but only colonial countries (Renesans era) and all countries from Europa (Portugal Russia and Turkey) and East(All of China's leaders, Japan, Korea ...)
Too bad Civ VI doesn't have a Total War mod that forces everyone to be at war with everyone else like Civ V does, as the guys that do Civ V AI games will trigger that when the game reaches a stagnation point. The current Civ Battle Royale just started their Total War at turn 800 a couple parts ago.
Please avoid putting natural disasters at Max every time. It makes the simulation a lot less fun. It bends everything in a bad way. It will also make your computer cry even more, specially late game.

Definitely could be very interesting with the amount of alternative Civs they now have
Those flood zones were so large; holy smokes.
Little bit too much flooding, I think at one point France was more than half underwater!
Tokugawa getting kicked out of Southern Japan while fleeing to Hokkaido is basically the Boshin War.

Yeah, Civ 6 has EXCELLENT city building mechanics, but war in civ 5 is better.

Maybe try to remove barbarians, it could allow for more early game colonization and more expansion in the beginning.
Also, drew durnil used to make videos on watching civ until one civilization remains, maybe you can find a way to implement that?

Why are the yellow and yangtze a whole sea tile wide?
It makes it hard for the civs to develop across the river

Hey i am a bit late to the party but how do you make the ai play each other? Like you can just watch them. I am relatively new to the whole of Civ 6.
The issue with coas as rivers i lack of bridges in civ6
Is this mod? I cant find the map in the selection.

Very cathartic seeing the colonisers get the boot icl (ignore portugal ❤)
include some modded civs eventually?
One thing you could do is make the only victory condition domination.
I did
I would love to see a civ5 game!
Is this the Best Korea? Maybe. 🦀

I’ll take a look at those mods, thank you!
Real Strategy AI is a great mod. Also the real allies mod makes multi power wars possible.
Ohh I'll take a look!
Next run should be all Elenores
Maybe Civ6 but only colonial countries (Renesans era) and all countries from Europa (Portugal Russia and Turkey) and East(All of China's leaders, Japan, Korea ...)
how do you spectate these games without playing in them yourself?
Autoplay, it’s a debug feature
Going to be great 😃
Forget the loyalty turn down the disasters
It was without a doubt the most interesting part of this video 😂
Try out the optimised world map
Day 65 of asking for everyone is Dutch, because asia consists of spices.......
And we gotta K O L O N I S E E R that
nice video
If you havent, putting the ai difficulty to max will make them more agressive
It’s on diety

Steam Workshop
There is an AI plus mod that makes the AI more aggressive potato has a video on it. I’m pretty sure.
Day 2 of asking for you to remove the year restrictions on institution spawns
