Improve your performance at the drag strip with this 1999-2004 Mustang Strange 8.8" axle, spool, and c-clip eliminator kit! The Stock axles are weak and cant hold up to the abuse of drag racing. Strange alloy axles are induction hardened to create an axle that is much stronger than the factory axles.
This kit replaces your factory differential with an 8.10lb 35 spline spool. This saves a significant amount of weight while increasing strength due to the simplistic design. Both axles will turn at the same speed with an equal amount of uninterrupted force, making it a great choice for drag racing. Because of this it is highly recommended you DO NOT drive it on the street.
Strange C-Clip eliminators are included to keep your Mustang within the rules of drag racing. By eliminating the factory c-clips, your axles mount to the end of the axle housing. If your axle breaks, the entire axle and wheel assembly will stay put instead of rolling down the track. These high quality C-Clip eliminators feature Timken roller bearings that are ideal for constant strip use.

Because typically a spool can twist the splines on the axles on corners and what not. If you get a s trac or tru trac diff which is an LSD you can drive it on the street with c clip eliminators all day long

Hey I have the same spool and I have an 8.8 differencial but the bearing kit d1582 that they say is for gm12 bolt and 8.8 Ford does not fit on mine it's too big which one did you guys use for that 8.8 if u can helpme

Probably a little late but the stock size bearings fit the 31 and 35 spline diffs just fine

You can run whichever spline count you want. The owner of the car opted for the 35 spline kit. -Landan

The limited slip goes away. I would strongly suggest keeping this away from off-road use. -Landan

Evan - A spool and c-clip eliminator kit will work with factory 31 spline axles. I 'll be honest with you, I don't know if the factory axles are hardened, but that is something to consider if reusing a factory axle. -Landan

All v8 86-10 rear ends got 30spline 8.8 except the 2001 cobra and 03-04 cobra. The V6 cars got a 7.5 28spline.

@@quarawlisstafford487 All 79-85 foxes 7.5 diffs have 28spline axles.. 86-2004 V-8s 8.8 diffs have 28spline axles, V-6 cars 7.5 diffs 28spline axles... 05-10 V-8s 8.8 diffs 31spline axles, V-6 cars 7.5 28spline axles.. 2011-up Both GT V-8/V-6 cars have 8.8 diffs 31spline axles... 2001-04 cobras are IRS/independent-rear-susp. but have 8.8 Center-diffs & have 31spline limited-slip carrier that can be used in any Ford 8.8 diff w/upgraded 31spline axles...
