He was the funniest spider man and in my opinion he acted like a real teenager and I loved it.

He was certainly the funniest, but i don’t feel his portrayal was very similar to a teenager.
The angst was there, but the script was missing some depth to make it relateable.
For me he was just spiderman in and out of the suit. As Peter Parker he was a little cocy but it was sorta refreshed to see Peter take no ones shit.

@@sams517 I do get what you say, and, to a certain point i agree, but in the case of this character im specific i think there’s some untapped potential.
He was abandoned by his parents and is obsessed with finding them even though he has caring fatherly and motherly figures in Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
The script could’ve dealt with Peter’s lack of belonging and how said abandonment sort of shaped him. Instead of showcasing his a bullied outcast, to mix results at the audience’s eyes, why not make him a dude that alienates himself due to him not having a sense of self belonging or him fearing abandonment again.
Hell, the script could’ve tied this with Uncle Ben and made the film about father-son relationship at its core (as we also know the Lizard’s story with his son was cut from the film).
This guy is THE quintessential spiderman. Idc what people say about his role. He is the most comic accurate spidey. Snarky, witty with a hint of over confidence and a bit of pain deep inside of him. Had Sony not fucked up his duology he could've surpassed tobey as the best spidey.
I don't even think Sony screwed the films up that much. There are things that I don't like about them, (like the last few minutes of TASM 2 are pretty bad IMO) but really Sony just made a business decision and decided they'd make more money by starting a new Spider-Man in the MCU. It's sad we never got to see TASM 3, but if the reboot hadn't happened we wouldn't have NWH.
I honestly like Andrew's Spidy best. I just like how the jokes and talks and retains that sass even in his civilian form which is very similar to some of the animated spiderman series I saw.
Andrew garfield is tue most charismatic and best spiderman but script and directors were the ones to ruin the movies.

As someone who read the comics religiously, I feel like personality and mannerisms wise, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is the most accurate.
Andrew is just an incredible actor, his script choices are always top notch!

Yes, yes, YESSSSSS! That's why it's a bit frustrating that all the love is coming from a huge blockbuster superhero movie, you know? Like, don't get me wrong, give me Spidey movies - Andrew, Tobey or Tom, it doesn't matter - all day and I'll be a happy camper. Thing is, he's an amazing actor and the fact that people are still not fully realizing it because they're way too hung up on Spidey/Peter (and yes, finally giving all the credit for it he deserved for the past ten years) doesn't really sit right with me.
By the way, you didn't mention Never let me go and, if you haven't watched it, DO IT. You won't regret it.

The first film of The Amazing Spiderman came out when I was 16. Andrew played a 17 years old teenager. For some points, I felt related to Peter Andrew, like... nerdy-geek thing, the student that sometimes got bullied, stood up for parents' rude comment, and awkwardness with crush. Not always the bookish, but bit smart and really cool teenage boy.

I freaking grew up with Andrew Garfield as Spiderman. He has been my Spiderman since I was a kid and I freaking love how everyone is coming together and agreeing that Andrew is amazing, as The Amazing Spiderman XD.
Love how he's getting more love and attention. This version helped me grieve over my mothers death when I was a kid and he's already meant a lot to me personally. So seeing this renaissance for his version that's been going on since 2018 is amazing to me.
I had 2 mothers, my birth mother who couldn't raise me and her mother (my actual grandmother) whom was the one that raised me since I was 3 months old. I referred to them as both being my mothers anyway, and my GM always referred to me as her son...in August 2012 my birth mother passed away due to chemical cephalopathy...4 days later my mother passed away in my arms due to emphysema, both mother and daughter passed away 4 days apart...buried one and cremated the other. So yeah 2012 TASM had hit home with the loss of parents and indeed to me they have always been the BEST Spidey films and even more with NWH to me .

One of the main things that makes him the best Peter Parker. That and the way he’s such a team player with the police and fire department when he needs to be. I have always loved Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and I am so happy that he is finally getting the recognition that he deserves. I love that he is portraying Peter as this eccentric genius who seems to have a million ideas in his head which is why he acts so chaotic. The onscreen chemistry between Peter and Gwen in these movies is perfection.

He is half American and Half Brittish and he has double citizenship. He lived in LA and back in England, hence it is easy for him to have both accents and also have that US vibe.

I’ve not watched the latest MCU Spider-man movie. But I’ve always preferred this characterisation of Spider-man. When he lost his Gwen, there was a very real sense of finality to her death unlike other MCU content where they could still bring characters back, at least onscreen; on his own, this Spider-man did not have the luxury of friends with magical powers, a rich billionaire’s backing nor otherworldly tech to navigate through his losses. He faced them head on like a normal person. I would love a properly written third instalment.

It’s just so beautiful how much love Andrew is getting right now. Hope he gets another shot, and I hope Emma Stone gets to headline it with him as Spider-Gwen. Also the TASM movies can be a mess plot-wise but they have such heart, amazing characters and fantastic performances, Spider-Man and Peter Parker are perfectly flawed and complex yet down to earth and he really is such a fantastic friendly neighborhood Spider-Man….the movies are really underrated.
In this movie Peter had the most chemistry with Gwen out of any Spider-Man movie, I said what I said 🤷♀️
Weeell, there is also Miles Morales in ITSV so technically both Garfield and Morales have the best Chemistry with their respective Gwens 😉

Love stories is part of his struggles and history throughout his creation, The late Stan Lee, Co-creator made sure that everyday life including love issues were part of Peter Parker's hardships because he wanted everyone to be able to relate to Spider-Man no matter the ethnicity, or whatever. This theme also was part of ITSV movie

And remember peter parker was an average dude who chanced to be a on a science trip and got bitten by a radioactive spider , unlike your gay boy andrew whose father created the "spider" for him and who sneaked into oscorp stealing rodrigo's identity getting him thrown out of oscorp giving a smirk , trailing doctor ratha and watching him use the password and in the end touching the spiders deliberately; THAT's NOT HOW I REMEMBER THINGS BEING IN THE COMICS.

And yeah sure in the comics he doesn't go crazy showing off the Secret identity but that is due to time constraints, and yeah Tobey had the same issue too especially with a train full of people and them putting his mask on like nothing, so your argument has nothing on Andrew. Which also whatever the actor's sexuality is has NOTHING to do with his performance, or Tobey's alcoholism and gambling addiction would also be a factor. It is more than stupid to insult an actor for their personal issues and predilections and attach them to their work. It is more than stupid and idiotic, it is a horrible reflection on the commenter.
Putting that aside, Now, I think one thing that in order to make an entire issue of the secret identity reveals to be diminished on the screen is to approach the stories in a live action series and as we know it could get expensive as seen with the recent well received Superman and Louis TV series. Because like you, the face reveals are quite annoying for me too, but as I said it is all time constraints.
One last thing bud, I inherited all of my late uncle's original comics, dating to Spidey's origins up to the late 80s and I began collecting My Own Spidey comics in the 90s and forward... Yeah, I read and re-read my comics, so...
