If you send the MIDI from pigments to another track in Bitwig, you can record the sequencer MIDI. Pretty cool to be able to fuck around and then keep the best parts. Also the non destructive editing of MIDI is super nice to have.
Yes, that makes this very powerful. I believe you can send midi from one track to another in other DAWs too.
I guess I need to look more into that. I tried to do it in logic, but couldn’t get it to work.
When i started on pigments 4 i was like dammm the effects on this thing are amazing for beautiful stereo width and reverbs lovley delays so many cool things then BOOM they dropped it on this free update. Much love to the team at Arturia thanks guys
Many people wanted a Pigments Effects version, but this is basically the same with more steps and easier to program I believe
This update is a marvel!!! Beyond the feature updates, I'm absolutely convinced that they upgraded the sound engine, as the presets just sound so huge and warm. I could actually hear and feel the subass patches on my 3.5 monitors, which never happened with Pigments before. And this one annoyingly thin sounding patch I used in an abandoned song suddenly had more meat and substance, and I was able to quickly make it sound solid with chorus and a stereo wider. Man, oh, man. They made me fall back in love with this synth

Pigment is a very good synthesizer, I want to buy and the good thing is that it is now discounted.

Im really glad I got pigments at launch. It was like 50 quid. It's been my go to soft synth, along with Karma FX, a very under rated synth.

@@AlexReidStudios yes, Pigments is the soft synth that I'd love as hardware. I think Waldorf have come closest, but not quite worth a cigar yet.
Karma FX is a modular soft synth., but a little different. Not rack based, so you end up with something more like a bespoke normalled synth but can still change things up if you want to. It sounds amazing, but hasn't gotten the exposure that a lot of others have. Likr I say, I think you'd like it. There is a demo version I believe. This was another one that I picked up really cheap on a sale day and am very happy about. No affiliation btw

but I m deep into Halion 7 right now….Spectral synthesis and other goodies are frighteningly cool to play with (Avenger 2 also) and maybe first time Im truly blown away by a FM synth engine with their last FM synth.

Great demo. Pigments 5 looks fantastic. An upgraded sequencer that works excellently and also with other synths. Perfect to be able to use sound sources before Pigment and use filters and effects. But I don't understand why the browser has been changed, now it's plotty and difficult to get an overview (frustrating). What I miss most is getting a really good sound, it's too tricky. Reminds me a lot of Analog Lab with millions of sounds, but no "keepers". Cheers.
Yeah, these additions seem small but they expand the usage of Pigments beyond itself as a synth

Glad for the heads up re the update, I love Pigments, I should fire it up more. Been considering the Cherry Audio PS-3300... all those voices. Anyone given it a go yet? 🖖💯🎶
I got a review of the PS-3300, it's really fun and sounds amazing! Pigments is pretty dope and is better now. Just wish for beign able to modulate every parameter, not only for the phase position

Oh man that's difficult. But I will go for phaseplant, it has more modulation and you can use snap heap ans multipass on it

Reason for full version update instead of minor point release is obviously marketing. A full version update makes more noise in the world than the minor point release. Arturia is great at marketing.
