    A literal monumental endeavour!

People often talk how "this or that was impossible" back in those old days, but what people, also often, forget is that spirutual manifestations were a lot more potent and a lot more prevalent in those days.
Call it aliens, call them demons or gods, it doesn't matter, something outside humanity was indeed interfering with day to day ocurrences.
So no, it wasn't and it isn't impossible, something made it be possible, like on all other ocurrences where these beings interferred on Earth, being for the Good or for the bad. Another detail people like (yes, "like") to forget is that humanity was a lot more capable, strong and resistant in comparison of what we are today.
Thanks for another great video, allthough this being a really short one, I'm greateful for your work boss.

Thank you, brother. It's such a complicated subject, and that's partly what makes ancient history so fascinating.

Heard another account of Merer's diary on Voices of the Past.
He sounds sort of tired of the tedious work and ready for a vacation in that excerpt 😅

Does the document specifically state the stone was intended for the pyramid?

    • @TheLegendaryLore
      @TheLegendaryLore  Месяц назад +2

It does. According to people who are more knowledgeable about this topic than I, the original name of the Great Pyramid was Akhet-Khufu (Horizon of Khufu). Other ancient texts and carvings on the pyramids from the time of Khufu and later periods refer to the pyramid by this name, too.
Admittedly, I haven't done a deep dive into this, but this is the mainstream archaeological perspective.

@@TheLegendaryLore Thanks. I found the whole thing a bit strange because in my view building the pyramids was not something ancient Egyptians were technologically enabled for doing.
I find the usual "slaves and all the time in the world" argument very weak and unfounded in reality, as well as lacking in basic economics.
But I didn't know about this document, it's very interesting. Listening to various sources the claim has been made about details of building of pyramids being completely absent from the many hieroglyphs with which the pyramids were adorned. This document would go counter such claims and I was obviously not able to review all the hieroglyphs to very that claim.
My quick internet search regarding the document yielded some statements about how it was assumed the stone was intended for the pyramid but there was no outright reference for that being the case. They kind of just put together the dates and assumed that must have been it.
I don't have a problem with people making assumptions, but pyramids are built out of stone, not assumptions :D
At either rate, thanks for bringing this up!

I'm not 100% convinced they could build it either, but definitely leaning towards the mainstream explanation. For a change.

My litmus test: what did it take to cut, lift, transport, lift, move and fit largest stone blocks? What would it take today?

I know the subject of "who built the great pyramids" is controversial; there's a lot that's presumed and a lot of evidence missing so the case is still open in my opinion. At the beginning of this translation, the author of the text states that the stone in transit was destined for the "Gizeh construction site", and then says the structures were 'monumental', which is enticing, but he doesn't actually say they were building the pyramids. The pyramids may well have been repaired, as was the sphinx, several times, and many other large buildings were built on and around the site across the ages, but if the dynastic Egyptians had built the >megalithic structuresantiquity< had survived, suggesting a much older history. (Plato)
Another fascinating translation from L.L., well done and thank you.
