Meet Author Charlotte Parker Caminos (Planter's Knowledge Vodcast)

Dr. Kathleen E. Walls welcomes author Charlotte Parker Caminos to Planter's Knowledge Vodcast. Charlotte is a writer at heart. Her articles have appeared in various outlets. She self-published a children’s book (We Have A New Baby At Our House) and recently completed her first novel, an immigration story (New Beginnings: Annabelle’s Story).
New Beginnings: Annabelle's Story (Brief Summary)...
Emigrating alone from Hungary to the United States in the 1890's, Annabelle with her small daughter Paula is unprepared to experience the challenges she will endure on the crossing. When she faces an unexpected crisis, a young man, Alfredo, steps up to help her. He is able to ensure that she manages to enter the United States at Ellis Island, but soon loses track of her as he and Annabelle go their separate ways. Becoming acclimated to the new culture they are facing, Annabelle tries to discover how she will survive in this new country. Alfredo wonders if he will even have a future. But family and friends work together to aid these young people in overcoming the conflicts and challenges they encounter.
Chartlotte Parker Caminos was born and raised in New York City. She attended Mother Cabrini School, where she served as Editor of the school newspaper. Graduating with honors, she progressed to Fordham University where she secured a BS in Education. After teaching high school for four years, she transitioned to the corporate world. She has also functioned as an adjunct professor at Villanova University in the Graduate Human Resources Department.
Community service has always been an integral part of Charlotte’s professional life. A longtime Rotarian, she has led numerous service projects, which include raising funds for a child undergoing open heart surgery, forming a Literacy Program, and organizing a blood drive for the North Jersey Blood Center bringing in 350 pints of blood in three days. Today she makes Angel Gowns for stillborn infants from discarded wedding gowns, as well as caps for premature infants in intensive care.
