    The Edman -> Fedde/Pham move was a solid move, the Carlson -> Armstrong move was mediocre, but I think the logic was we could have gotten Floro as well, but we would have had to throw in a prospect, and Mo was trying to accomplish a clean flip 1 for 1 in that move, overall, we probably had like a B+ trade deadline can't complain.

    McGreevy is gonna eat up innings if he can keep going 7 on 90+ pitches
    good stuff here, I was hoping there was someone they could call up to make an impact particularly in the rotation much like Joe Kelly did in 2012-13 or Michael Wacha did in 2013 as well seems like they addressed a few holes with one foul swoop and a call up, dude looked locked in

    ITS OVER! For those people who don't understand psychology of sports the Cardinals are DONE! Since July 10th the Cardinals are 8-13 if they lose today. This team doesn't have another monumental run in them... they're done. The management went out and moved Tommy a popular player for Fedde probably because they plan on not resigning Lynn or Gibson. Sad Mo didn't realize the team was done, and trade our Closer, try do anything to trade away GRAY, but nope. Get ready for 4 ro 5 years of sucking. MO PROVEN or better yet the OWNER proven to not wanting to win a WORLD SERIES! When the Cardinals came out a few months ago asking the public for 500 million dollars to renovate the stadium you knew right there... THIS IS A BUSINESS where the ownership want to take advantage of a loyalty from fans. The ownership is learning the hard way that the fans can walk away. The rest of the season the Cardinals will be lucky to attract 15,000 fans a game. The team will probably finish below 500 with NO ability due to ownerships operation approach to the team to win in 2026. Even though Goldy salary is coming off the books, you're STUCK! Cardinals should go ALL IN 2025 off season to TANK! Why? Because Matz, Miles, and two more years of Gray (ouch) are all going to kill the Cardinals ability to sign players. You'll loose your closer because you're not going to pay him, CARDINAL FANS GET READY for a return to the 1970's Cardinal baseball. If this is the case then GO FOR IT A SUPER TANK... TRADE AWAY EVERYONE and WAIT OUT the bad contracts. Get your payroll down in the 60's then start over. Ownership then should commit to SPEND OVER 200 ONCE you can BUILD around the younger players. The fans will accept that... but no we'll get another half ass attempt to be a 500 team.

    • @Hauntworld
      @Hauntworld Месяц назад

      @@LockedOnCardinalsMLB I want you to know this I think of all the Cardinal youtube pages you have the best one. The Redbird rants guys don't understand the complexity of how to build a winning baseball team, Brenden guy lets not even get into that. LOL. With that being said I like your calm open minded, playful, fun approach but clearly you're a fan of the team so there is some bias hoping everything turns out amazing. At some point someone needs to call a spade a spade. The management of the team since Jeff left to the Astros has been a disaster. If we had the Mets owner, or Dodgers money, we'd just spend our way out of this mess. We do have the 3rd richest owner in baseball he just refuses to spend like a Billionaire. Clearly the guy is business first, ego non-existent. So if you're going to operate like a business then you can't afford to make very many mistakes this management team has and you would acknowledge that. So... why do you give props to management because they pulled off a trade for a 37 year old bat, and a pitcher lifetime is a disaster? I could give you 50 examples of MO screwing up their limited finances... Chris Carpenter he's falling apart at the plate we reward him with 20 million dollar per year contract. Miles is beyond mediocre and we give him a 20 million per year extension. The Cardinal way seems to be quantity over quality... take the money you're paying MILES and LYNN you get CEASE for 6 years. You take the money you're paying Gibson, and Gray you get a LEGIT COLE type of superstar. The Cardinals should be paying two TOP LINE GUYS and fill in the rest with cheap free agents or their farm system rather than 5 average to below average pitchers. Its time for you to finally admit GRAY is just slightly above average. Everyone needs to learn its not what they do ONE YEAR its what they do over multiple years. The trade which you seem to love so much is a D for DISASTER because it was a pointless trade because its not going to move the needle. Fedde trade was made honestly to have a under contract arm in 2025 not to get the Cardinals into the playoffs. The Cardinals only shot for a quick return to contention is to rid themselves of all this payroll and start over... take the rookie route promise the fans a push to 200 in payroll when you're ready to go! The Cardinals could move from 18th farm system to top 5 if they just traded away their vets and go full on youth. Their pride, and their FEAR of losing the fan base keeps them from doing the right thing and embracing a full reset to correct all the past mistakes. So what you're going to get is 500 baseball for the next decade.

      @@Hauntworld Oh I’ve complained about Mo and his mistakes for quite a long time now so I understand your frustrations. I think Gray is better than you give him credit for, we will have to just disagree there. The trade, which didn’t cost you much, makes sense for this year and next year, so how is that a disaster? The Cardinals aren’t a “move the needle” team, that’s not their philosophy and it hasn’t been for quite awhile now… if they don’t learn to develop their own players better then mediocrity is what they will be stuck in because they haven’t shown that they will ever spend what it would cost to bring the elite free agents to St. Louis… the only expensive vets left are Goldy (who is a free agent after this year) and Arenado. Trading them now when their stock is down doesn’t make much sense… not all prospects you get in return magically become stars and the ones you’d get for them today probably wouldn’t be top prospects anyways. I appreciate your kind words! And I get your frustrations, believe me. I’m not here to tell you it’s all sunshine and rainbows cause it’s not, but it isn’t a DOOMSDAY scenario in my opinion either... it is like you said just mid, which is where we thought they'd be from the get go

    • @Hauntworld
      @Hauntworld Месяц назад

      @@LockedOnCardinalsMLB Lots to digest. First off you said we're not a move the needle type of team I would disagree. The trade for Edmunds, Holiday, Carpenter, Rollen, Big Mac, signing Larussa opposed to a manager who's 35 years old and never done it before. Furthermore we also tried multiple times to swing for the fence, Stanton and lets not forget Soto which in hindsight was a big mistake not to pull that trigger. Instead of swinging for the fence these days we go for players who are on one year deals, expiring contracts, one more year of team control because the ownership is not wanting to spend money. Lastly, as to trades we could have made we could have embraced this TANK rebuild last year and got a MINT for Nolan and Goldy but no we didn't. This ownership is TERRORFIED of a rebuild when the fastest path would be a three year reset. Furthermore as for trades now Helsley would have brought back a mint. We could have traded Gray and that will be a regret in two years when he finishes the season getting paid 30 million to go 7-15. Wilson Contreras could have brought back some great prospects. Lynn, Gibson both are typical trade pitchers on one year deals both would have got you another clubs 15 and 20 something like that. You can clearly CLEAR OUT your own bullpen as well but we didn't. Tommy Edman is someone you keep and trade in the offseason. We'd pick top 5 pics for the next 3 seasons sitting on a 60 million payroll ready to BREAK OUT big in free agency in 2027. Let me ask you something would you rather have the Cardinals Roster and all its debt commitments or SKENES and a stock piled farm system with an OPEN CHECK book to start over? A smart GM would take SKENES no debt, young farm system and the ability to GO BIG in free agent market. Cardinals management at this point just needs to realize the gig is up... with Gray set to make up to 30 million, miles next year getting 20, Nolan at 20, a bunch of young players coming into arbitration you're screwed. There isn't a single player to market the team around like PIRATES can around SKENES, or YANKEES around JUDGE... attendance is going to fall under 2 million obviously so lets go for the rebuild. That isn't doomsday that is reality. Now there is OPTION 2 - DOOR #2... SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS MESS. The owner is worth 4 billion he can afford the Cardinals breaking even or losing a few million for a couple years but he won't. The trade you seem to love so much was TERRIBLE because he was a neutral cost trade, it didn't improve the team overall. They could have dangled every prospect they have to went after a HR hitting outfielder, and swayed one of the big stud pitcher, maybe even one top shelf RP. GO FOR IT... NOPE! In the back of the Cardinals minds they know a rebuild is coming so just make the trade that doesn't cost the team another dime. So the trade is an absolute FAILURE if your goal is to WIN! Forget MO the Yankees GM makes a lot of mistakes as well... but he gets the GREENLIGHT TO spend more to fix the problem, to trade away prospects. This team is in a holding pattern until ownership decides do we do a rebuild or trade away prospects for stars which also raises payroll. Just embrace the rebuild and go.

    Lotta people on Trade rumors and in the highlights loved calling him woke? lol dude when healthy and paid 13 million pitches like a 13 million dollar arm? oh well, I dont believe that to be woke... thats knowing your value? but after his arbitration victory lap why would we dole out prospects for who you didn't sign on the open market for 13 million last offseason whos a free agent at seasons end and gonna be looking for a good payday if he stays healthy

    Time to just admit it the Cardinals suck they won’t make the playoffs it’s over. You’re playing a team with a losing record and you lose 3 out 4 . It’s TOTALLY OVER! Just proves the point that the Cardinals should have been SELLERS they should have owned in before the trade deadline. So we’re going to finish under 500 probably and our farm system will still be one of the worst. Way to go for all those goofs who gave the Cardinals an A at the trade deadline.
