Yes, she confident. She's known as 'the Boss' among the musicians because she knows exactly what she wants. This is her arrangement. She is a genius and a musical prodigy.
Thank you for another fine reaction, Angelina. She is well worth every microsecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on RUclips, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener. Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers. (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it. (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player. (e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine" (f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted. (g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song. (h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time. (i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word (j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody. (k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying. Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.
Hello again 🙂 Thanks for an absolutely great 3rd (and counting) reaction to Angelina, and on her birthday, too. She turned 17 today, on January 10th 2023. The performance you just watched is almost impossible to react coherently to, because you're left in a state of chock and disbelief. To do what Angelina did here, at that age (9 years 2 months) is VERY close to impossible. It definitely tells you all you'll ever need to know about her abilities as a singer. Cuz let's be honest, right ? If she could do THIS, there really is no limit for her. She has already shown us that on several occasions, but she hasn't really started yet. Scary ?? Indeed. Her best is still to come, make no mistake about it😉 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
♥👣👸🏻🎷HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELINA Angelina Jordan turns 17 today the 10th of Jan. FYI. ♥👣👸🏻🎷 I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. We get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Anyone who discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will always be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 16 years old... That is unfathomable. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her.
We know Angelina will continue to amaze! We will be here to experience and cherish it for as long as we live.... and I am praying for many more years for myself to enjoy it till the end of my days... I hope to go out of this world listening to the most beautiful voice ever created for man just as Angelina came into it to fulfill her purpose, what she was put on earth to do, sing for the whole World... and Me! To me Angelina is always singing to me transporting me to that beautiful place she inhabits when she sings and to experience it with her. She has the ability to touch hearts and souls and change lives. She has the ability to change lives on a personal level and the power to change lives on a global scale. To me no one compares. You just watched a Masterpiece! Destined to go down in Music History as the best performance by a 9 yr old, Period! Past, present & dare I say Future! I'd like to see anyone, young or old who can do a cover of this & with the justice it deserves as Angelina has done on every cover she does. ♥👣👸🏻
Angelina 9 yo. Look at her! She controls the entire recording. She has the power and ability to carry this out. The fact that she then has an outstanding fantastic voice and theatrical body language only makes everything even better. This little Norwegian girl reads the English lyrics while singing! She is from Norway and they speak Norwegian there. English is Angelina's 3rd language! Already at 5-6 years old, she understands exactly what is meant in the lyrics! Incredible! A genius at work. I am so happy for everything she gives me. / a Swedish Viking.
This was the perfect song for you to react to on Angelina's 17th birthday! Now you see why she has such a devoted bunch of fans. She's been a mind bending singer for years! I think you can safely be called one of her "Angels" too now.
Angelina was near her 9th birthday when she created this arrangement for the 1956 classic by Screamin Jay Hawkins. She took control of the band and studio to deliver a powerful, emotional performance. Happy 17th birthday Angelina. All indications are that this will be the year you have spent your whole life working towards. Your first album on Republic Records is due out in 2023 and likely a world tour. With the power of promotion by Republic Records, Angelina will achieve what she has always desired, to sing for the entire world. I truly believe she was given the gift of song to draw attention to her message of love and empathy.
It's a phenomenon that Angelina is, indeed, AHEAD of her time, by singing PAST songs, which are TIMELESS! She's a virtual vocal time machine, bringing back the era of jazz & blues like no other artist today. She was 9 years, 2 months old here. TODAY, she celebrates her 17th birthday, born January 10, 2006! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OUR BEAUTIFUL BAREFOOT PRINCESS!
Welcome to Anglinas world. You’re at the edge of your favorite free fall thats about to happen. She has well over 150 covers on yt. We started 4 years ago and we listen daily. Its all astonishing. Theres compilations on RUclips and so many live events from her very active life. Enjoy it, she makes the day better
Absolutely phenomenal performance from a musical genius, Angelina actually arranges this herself paying tribute to the original artist SCREAMING J Hawkins a blues musician from the 1950s, Angelina beautiful unique silvery vibrato is like no other, her soulful pitch perfect voice is outstanding, love this artist she is a musical prodigy, great reaction thanks 🙏
What a great reaction my friend. Angelina came to this planet to give us all real music...as real as it will get these days. She started studio recordings at around 6 years old at her music school in Norway and the rest is simply history. There is actually a short video of her singing a Whitney Houston song at 1 and 1/2 years old with a toy microphone. And YES, you are correct, she is a brilliant music genius, or prodigy if you will. This arrangement of the Screamin Jay Hawkins 1956 original is what she was going for. There have been other covers of this song but there is none like this you shall find. Here is a link to Jay Hawkins original: ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html.. Enjoyed your reaction and amazement very much....New Sub here.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELINA. 17 YEARS OLD today 1/10/23 Smart does not explain it. She is a Musical Genius. She is the G.O.A.T. Greatest performance ever by a 9 year old. And does her own arrangements. Incomprehensible.
Great reaction to this performance! You are witnessing what many consider to be the greatest vocal performance ever by 9-year-old. It was originally done by Screamin Jay Hawkins, and Angelina provided arrangements for this as you saw the beginning when she handed the notes to the producer. And, this is only a preview of things to come! Thank you for providing the original video link in your description, and it is recommended to also provide the official links to the artists' official channels. Keep in mind that most viewers do not go to the description on their own and not only do they miss Angelina's links, but Unfortunately they also miss yours. Encourage your viewers to go to your description and watch, like, share, comment and subscribe to yours and the artists' videos and channels. You also may consider pinning this information in your comments. This boosts subscriptions and algorithms for both of you. Potential subscribers recognize those who support exceptional artists like Angelina. Peace and love.
Happy Birthday to one beautiful young lady as you continue to share your talents with the world. As the little girl without shoes said; I will pray for you! Your music is amazing. Your caring for others is even more amazing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
The best young female artist just 17 years old today "IMO" - Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records.
Yes, you are correct..it would be completely ridiculous to expect this from an 8yo but don't fret! Angelina is 9 and, I think, 2 months old here so no problem! Just her making history..like usual! It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). "Screamin" Jay Hawkins original "I Put A Spell on You" ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html
Angelina at 9 years 2 months of age, arranged the music and lyrics of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' original performance. HIs face is on the candle she holds, and you see her scribbling down her arrangement. She's so on-the-fly, that you can see her reading those scribbled pages while she's singing. The growls, shouts, and passion she puts into it are the closest to the original; and to know what I mean, here's a more recent video of Jay when he appeared on the Arsenio Hall's show (not necessarily to react to, but to see how she arranged her song to pay homage to Jay - ruclips.net/video/3S7a4Uj2yME/видео.html.
Oh it’s gunna be a hell of a ride alright 😁 A certain Ms Angelina Jordan, aged 9, is responsible for the arrangement..Just wanted to say I enjoyed your words after performance and couldn’t agree more..I can’t imagine your incredulity had yiu realised she’d arranged the whole thing..
Masterpiece. Know now you are hooked. She put a spell on you so I subscribed. Loved her paying homage to Screamin Jay Hawkins, the man on the candle, and putting her magic to his song. Loved it and your reaction. Peace
Yes you really need to watch the original especially the 1956 original it will give you a look into how much of an change she made to it while staying true to the originals intent.
We're all sentient beings, right? Then we can agree that this is impossible. What a little star! None of her songs ever get old to me. Lots of fun watching her grow up and come into her own. BTW, enjoyed your reaction very much.
Great reaction. A wonderful performance. Happy 17th Birthday Angelina! Here she is at 7 years old. Her are the links for Angelina's performances for Norway's Got Talent 2014. Of the 4 NGT performances, only NGT 1 and the final, NGT 4, have English subtitles or closed captions. I recommend playing all of NGT 1, where she sang Billie Holiday's arrangement of "Gloomy Sunday." For NGT 4, "Summertime," Angelina performed in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. This final video has 4 segments. The first is a spotlight on Angelina. I recommend watching this because you get to hear Angelina talking about herself. She's so young that her legs can only stick straight out as she sits and speaks to us. The second segment is the actual final performance. The third segment has the judges sharing their experiences and the feelings she's generated in them throughout the 2014 season. I highly recommend listening to these, as their words were quite powerful as well as prophetic. You just don't hear judges on any other Got Talent speak with this level of engagement. The fourth segment contains the naming of the 3 highest performing artist(s) being named. This follows with Angelina being named the victor. This last segment lasts for a little over 5 minutes, so I've seen some include and others not. NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance English subtitles) - ruclips.net/video/d3gSho9yf88/видео.html NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung in acapella) - ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html (How does she maintain pitch and tone without any backing track?) NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" - ruclips.net/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/видео.html NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (spotlights Angelina, pre/post performance, winning NGT, and has English CC) - ruclips.net/video/zN4kAof1is0/видео.html
This was her Homage to the original artist Screaming Jay Hawkins who's picture she held up on the candle. She wrote the arrangement as she does everything she sings. She was just over 9 at the time. She plays several instruments and speaks and sing in at least 3 languages likely more. English, Norwegian her native tongue, Japanese, likely French or Italian.
It's the song, Screamin' Jay Hawkins got his nick name from, and it's worth noting that her performance is closer to the original than all well known covers. Here is a performance from later in his career, which contains most of the elements she based her arrangement on: m.ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html
Hi Philipp because asked for it I enjoy citing my comment to your first Angelina Jordan reaction - lightly modified because you already reacted to this song 😉 Her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (ruclips.net/video/nwFloCPXzCs/видео.html - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) based on the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956) - Live: ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html or another version of it: ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( ;-) ): ruclips.net/video/Bb9ag8bch_U/видео.html or as Audio-Studio-Version: ruclips.net/video/82cdnAUvsw8/видео.html) that's real fun - if you watch this too and may be after this watch Angelinas cover again you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano :))) The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo ;) At 0:26 you can see the bassist smiling - I can imagine that he smiles about the expectable reactions of the listeners in the moment, when Angelina starts to sing at 0:30 ;-) Btw. I read somewhere that her grandma was in person at a concert of SJH in Japan (as she, AJs mother and uncle lived there some years - AJs grandpa is Japanese) and there AJs grandma bought this candle as a souvenir ;) ...I hope this story isn't a HOAX :)) Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards Andreas 😎
Angelina honored the 1956 "Screaming" Jay Hawkins original both with the arrangement AND his photo on that candle at the beginning of the video. Her arrangement is more like his recorded vinyl version than the video of his performance. BUT either one is nice for you to review if you really want to see the musicality of what Angelina did here. This performance takes place at age 9 after auditioning for and winning Norway's Got Talent at age 7/8. She auditioned with Billie Holiday's version of "Gloomy Sunday." THEN she does an elimination audition a cappella version of Billie Holiday's "I'm a Fool To Want You." She then showed everyone she is a true singer, not just a Billie Holiday copycat by singing "Bang Bang," based on the Nancy Sinatra version of Sonny and Cher's song. Her final song was George Gershwin's "Summertime" sung in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It was Norway's Got Talent that introduced Angelina Jordan to the world. If you listen to Gloomy Sunday audition, get the video with the English subtitles/captions so you can understand what the judges say during and after the audition. I can listen to 7 year old Angelina Jordan's "Gloomy Sunday" for hours. I hope you'll find some good words for describing Angelina Jordan and her performance of "I Put A Spell On You." Grandma Ellen, looking for your next one.
Hi, GrandmasEllen! Hope you celebrated the New Year in the appropriate manner.🙂 To save Phillip having to search for the NGT performances, I list them below: age 7 - "Gloomy Sunday" (Billy Holiday)- Audition -ruclips.net/video/d3gSho9yf88/видео.html (English Subtitles) age 8 - "I'm a fool to want you" (Billie Holiday) - Judges' Cut-Off - ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html (No comments by the Judges) age 8 - "Bang Bang" (Nancy Sinatra) - Semi Final - ruclips.net/video/pcBoB49Gxn8/видео.html age 8 - "Summertime: (songwriter George Gershwin. Angelina's performance in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong) - Final - ruclips.net/video/stwF4ti1tbc/видео.html
@@alberttenfoot , thank you so much. He just reacted to "Gloomy Sunday" thanks to you. I'm not at all organized with my AJ info, and I know the other, more experienced, angels will take care of people. I do go get links when I feel it is important for me to do so, but thank you for being among the reliable folk. 💜
Love your reaction. This is a gem. Some of the other cover : Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, Tab Benoit, CCR, Jeff Beck, Marilyn Manson, Anne Lenox… Cold you react to I’m Still Holding Out For You by Angelina ? She recorder the demo at age 10. Baby Fuzz ( the song writer) released his own version a couple years later ( which is very good as well). The demo was leaked and a fan created the video using a mashup of images from other Angelina Videos.
Angelina has been in "slow burn" now for 10 years. In just a few months, after high school, when her first Republic Records album is released and she goes on tour, that slow burn will go fully nuclear explosion, sending most every other (cough! cough!) "artist" in the music industry running for cover!
This was written and originally performed by Screaming Jay Hawkins ( photo on candles she hold up in the beginning). Many covers over the last 60 years.
Please check out Mr. Hawkins bio. The man had quite a life. His music deserves this refresh captivating young artist. But 9 years old puts it over the top for me. AJ has a way to bring classics and put a stamp on them like no other artist could.
the original is screaming jay hawkins. ..his pix was on candle...watch his version from merv griffin show...angelina is only person with guts to cover the original...
Here is a mash up of Screaming Jay Hawkins and Angelina performing this song put together by BigAngieFan: ruclips.net/video/2he4tlOGud0/видео.html BTW the song ranks 299 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs of All Time
Great reaction. Original performed by Screaming Jay Hawkins (image on the candle she shows at the beginning) on American TV in the 1960s, he wrote it in 1956. Note how her version (yes, she arranged her version) is not a copy-cat cover, she makes it her own yet pays tribute to the original in many places. ruclips.net/video/a1AE_bCoPSI/видео.html
I think it more accurate to say Angelina listened to various versions of this song and paid tribute to the origional, but this was not a straight cover of Screaming Jack Hawkins. Her ability to arrange music to suit emotion and her own voice seems to be innate. The paper she hands to the music director at the beginning are some last minute changes she wanted made. No wonder the musicians called this tiny child affectionately The boss. Talent recognises talent.
Here is the original from the 50's by Screaming Jay Hawkins; ( ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html ) Angelina took it to a new level of vocal artistry.
The earliest video that I have of her is from when she was 6yo and her first time in a studio - ruclips.net/video/RjQZKBpVaes/видео.html One of the best songs she has done is when she was 10yo I'm Still Holding Out For You - ruclips.net/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/видео.html By the way she did the arrangement of this song and in fact she does the arrangements of most of her music.
Try this go to Screamin Joe Hawkins ruclips.net/video/82cdnAUvsw8/видео.html this is the reference cut this little music prodigy reconstructed for her performance of "I Put A Spell On You" this is why the trade people refer to her as the boss even at this age of 10 years she had already won Norway's Got Talent and is now 16 years of age has over 160 covers of all genres all of which are exemplary plus several original cuts and she plays the piano, flute, violin, and guitar and also paints. She also sings in 4 languages and best of all she has thousands of followers called Angels ( some of the nicest people on the net) and they love to experience new people experiencing Angelina. Angelina is a gift from the universe that we all are fortunate to experience.
I watched this before I saw your reaction to Bohemian rhapsody but you seem like a Queen fan. You need to see her 'Show Must go on '..epic ruclips.net/video/6NJv02ot5jg/видео.html
Yes, she confident. She's known as 'the Boss' among the musicians because she knows exactly what she wants. This is her arrangement. She is a genius and a musical prodigy.

This was the perfect song for you to react to on Angelina's 17th birthday! Now you see why she has such a devoted bunch of fans. She's been a mind bending singer for years! I think you can safely be called one of her "Angels" too now.
She's a permanent musical explosion !!!
Thanks for this good entertaining reaction. Angelina turn 17 today. Happy Birthday to her
Thank you too
Angelina was near her 9th birthday when she created this arrangement for the 1956 classic by Screamin Jay Hawkins.
Her arrangement of course. No one ensemble can style her renditions for her. She’s boss
17 YEARS OLD today 1/10/23
Smart does not explain it. She is a Musical Genius. She is the G.O.A.T.
Greatest performance ever by a 9 year old. And does her own arrangements.
Incomprehensible.
I can tell you love music and you know what you're talking about.

Her first album with RR will be her second album.
@@dojoswitzer Yes, I agree! Perhaps it is more accurate to say that it is the first of Angelina's albums promoted and released by a record company.
Angelina put her spell again....
Yeah, do a reaction to Screaming Jay Hawkins, that would be awesome. Hell, I think I´ll go watch it now:)
Great reaction! I hope you continue down the rabbit hole. And a Happy Birthday to Angelina, the future barefoot Empress of the music industry. 🎂
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for listening. glad you enjoyed it.. more coming
I recommend playing all of NGT 1, where she sang Billie Holiday's arrangement of "Gloomy Sunday."
For NGT 4, "Summertime," Angelina performed in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance English subtitles) - ruclips.net/video/d3gSho9yf88/видео.html
NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung in acapella) - ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html (How does she maintain pitch and tone without any backing track?)
NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" - ruclips.net/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/видео.html
NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (spotlights Angelina, pre/post performance, winning NGT, and has English CC) - ruclips.net/video/zN4kAof1is0/видео.html
Now do her performances on Norway's Got Talent.
❤❤❤❤
Talento assoluto. Il 10.1.2023 compie 17 anni uno dei talenti in circolazione.
Hi Philipp
because asked for it I enjoy citing my comment to your first Angelina Jordan reaction - lightly modified because you already reacted to this song 😉
Her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (ruclips.net/video/nwFloCPXzCs/видео.html - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) based on the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956) - Live: ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html
or another version of it: ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html
and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( ;-) ): ruclips.net/video/Bb9ag8bch_U/видео.html
or as Audio-Studio-Version: ruclips.net/video/82cdnAUvsw8/видео.html)
that's real fun - if you watch this too and may be after this watch Angelinas cover again you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D
At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano :)))
The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo ;)
At 0:26 you can see the bassist smiling - I can imagine that he smiles about the expectable reactions of the listeners in the moment, when Angelina starts to sing at 0:30 ;-)
Btw. I read somewhere that her grandma was in person at a concert of SJH in Japan (as she, AJs mother and uncle lived there some years - AJs grandpa is Japanese) and there AJs grandma bought this candle as a souvenir ;)
...I hope this story isn't a HOAX :))
Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards
Andreas
😎

Hope you celebrated the New Year in the appropriate manner.🙂 To save Phillip having to search for the NGT performances, I list them below:
age 7 - "Gloomy Sunday" (Billy Holiday)- Audition -ruclips.net/video/d3gSho9yf88/видео.html (English Subtitles)
age 8 - "I'm a fool to want you" (Billie Holiday) - Judges' Cut-Off - ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html (No comments by the Judges)
age 8 - "Bang Bang" (Nancy Sinatra) - Semi Final - ruclips.net/video/pcBoB49Gxn8/видео.html
age 8 - "Summertime: (songwriter George Gershwin.
Some of the other cover
: Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, Tab Benoit, CCR, Jeff Beck, Marilyn Manson, Anne Lenox…
Cold you react to I’m Still Holding Out For You by Angelina ?
9 yes 2 mo old for this performance
Please check out Mr. Hawkins bio. The man had quite a life. His music deserves this refresh captivating young artist. But 9 years old puts it over the top for me. AJ has a way to bring classics and put a stamp on them like no other artist could.
💯
Understand it? That's HER arrangement
the original is screaming jay hawkins. ..his pix was on candle...watch his version from merv griffin show...angelina is only person with guts to cover the original...
Screaming Jay Hawkins was the original singer and composer. This is her rendition. she was 9 yrs. old.
Here is a mash up of Screaming Jay Hawkins and Angelina performing this song put together by BigAngieFan: ruclips.net/video/2he4tlOGud0/видео.html BTW the song ranks 299 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs of All Time
Wellkom to our boss
Great reaction. Original performed by Screaming Jay Hawkins (image on the candle she shows at the beginning) on American TV in the 1960s, he wrote it in 1956. Note how her version (yes, she arranged her version) is not a copy-cat cover, she makes it her own yet pays tribute to the original in many places. ruclips.net/video/a1AE_bCoPSI/видео.html
Awesome reaction, God Bless!
Glad you enjoyed
Another great reaction, Phil. Look forward to many more of your AJ reactions.
More to come!
For comparison, here's Hawkins original.

The earliest video that I have of her is from when she was 6yo and her first time in a studio - ruclips.net/video/RjQZKBpVaes/видео.html
One of the best songs she has done is when she was 10yo I'm Still Holding Out For You - ruclips.net/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/видео.html
By the way she did the arrangement of this song and in fact she does the arrangements of most of her music.
You need to see her 'Show Must go on '..epic
