Guyanese 🇬🇾Black Eye Cake || Chiney Cake

- Ingredients
Pastry Dough
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 stick unsalted butter
1 Tsp vinegar
Ice cold water
Filling
1 cup soaked black-eyed peas
1/2 Tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 Tsp nutmeg
1/2 Tsp almond essence
1 Tsp mixed essence
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tsp burnt sugar
1 Tbsp butter
2 egg yolk
Food coloring
Bake 350F for 30 minutes until golden brown

Hey ask I just made the filling I used another RUclipsr recipe where she stated her way has brown sugar and cinnamon only to the peas but somehow I felt like something was missing. Well of course u know I decided to drop by on ur page….i added the other ingredients that u mentioned and BOOM loved the filling

Looks good but its really black eye cake as mentioned its not chinese cake . the Chinese makes something similar but instead of blackeye peas they use black bean .the black bean is a bit sweeter than the blakeye peas . Still yours looks great keep it up.
