To be fair, most people don’t go to the islands for the food. Except the cookies ofc. Lookout has the prettier beach for sure. I was on the inaugural and the flies were crazy but only by the food, not the beach. Lookout is still a work in process overall and will continue to improve
Just got back from Lookout Cay and we found the food as “fine” as Castaway Cay’s. We went up at 11:20 and they seemed to have started serving early. Line built up on the “left” side, but if you walked around to the other side there was no line. Cucumber salad needed salt. The pineapple black bean salad was very good. Chicken sandwich (sans sandwich) pleasantly actually had a kick. We LOVED our yucca fries. Hot, fresh, slightly sweet and very little breading. Broccoli was surprising yummy. Corn on the cob was unseasoned at all.
My 23 month old just handed me the remote while eating a snack and said "Kristen" lol ....she enjoys watching your videos while she eats a snack. Future food vlogger?
Just recently went to both Castaway and Lighthouse. Castaway has charm and is well thought out, Lighthouse reminds me of something 6 Flags would make. As a Platinum Castaway Club member I am thoroughly disappointed in Lighthouse and have no plans on returning unless major changes are made. We saw the lines at Lighthouse and just decided to head back to the ship and eat lunch.
We were at Lookout last week, and Castaway in Sept. Lines for food at Lookout were LONG and SLOW. Overall the food was better at Castaway. Beachbat Lookout was beautiful but the waves were far to strong for kids to play in the ocean (we heard a visit before the beach was black flagged)
Going on the Disney Dream for the first time in January and going to Castaway Cay and Lighthouse point so I’ve been LOVING the food reviews!!!! Thanks so much! These vids are making me more excited for the cruise!!
You would think with the price of Disney cruise the food would be overall top-of-the-line. So sad the lack of quality, and organization function and a table to eat at.🤯 thank you, Kristen for a true review of the food.
Kristen, Love all your videos and enjoy the honest reviews. I am a long time Disney Cast member and have been on a a lot of Disney cruises. Went to Lighthouse Point for the first time just over a week ago and had the exact same experience and feedback as you. Long likes for food and feeling lost due to lack of signage. Sadly all of our food was also cold Castaway is still amazing. Hoping the Lighthouse Point will get better with time based on guest feedback
Glad to know it wasn’t just me, but sad that people are having the same experience! The operation as a whole there needs help desperately. Hopefully they can reach Castaway standards asap
If it was so hot standing in line waiting for a table and for food, your buns were probably toasted from the sun but if the food was hot to begin with, I don't understand how it could be ice cold when you went to eat it.
As a Bahamian, that lived in Orlando for years and now back in The Bahamas, NONE of this other than location and a few of the cast members are "Bahamian". This is 100% Disney. We don't eat any of these dishes and locals can't even access these locations.
Not true. I live in Eleuthera and locals are welcome there and go there. I went there with my family for a local price. The artists/vendors in the market are all Bahamian and live, born/raised in Eleuthera. You are right on the food. It isn’t Bahamian. They could incorporate grouper and/or conch salad, guava duff
OK I know the Eleuthera property is the newer one so it's good they let locals go. The one in Abaco is on an outer cay and the staff have to take a ferry over and locals don't go to that property, at least as far as I know (might have changed).
@@LifeWithMrsB Oh it's slang for a Glock handgun in thug culture. Apparently it started in 2016. So since a hotdog is about the size of a Glock handgun, thugs started using it. That's a really really weird thing for a Disney adult to start pushing.
We was there on the November 6 cruise. We found on Lookout Cay, that you need to go get food when it opens up and the food was just 👌 nothing to write home about. On Castway Cay the food is little better but nothing to write home about again. Thanks for sharing 🤗🚢
I picked a cruise for next year avoiding Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The flies really grossed me out in the previous videos. It looks like they have improved a little bit but still need to do better. I guess you could fill up on the chicken and ice cream. BTW your ice cream looked like something I would make but I bet it was good. Castaway Cay’s food looked a little bit better to me overall.
OMG!! We were at Lookout Cay like 2 weeks ago on the Fantasy and had the EXACT same food experience! The lines were just nuts, and by the time we got up there, I was SO over it! 😅🙃 And none of it was good. So, yeah, Castaway completely wins!! 💥 Also- Travis Kielce used "glizzy" on his podcast today- so maybe people will leave you alone now! 😅🤣🤣
I have never seen such a poorly organized food experience. Everything from the layout to there being no labels, to the lack of tables for people to eat at. It was really disappointing.
@@wrightdownmainstreet yeah- they need the layout castaway has, where a bunch of sections all have the same food, so that the line is split up. oh AND our day was so windy, they ended up basically closing the beach/ water, so there really was nothing to do. Not the most magical day for us, for sure!
I watch two others that reviewed these islands, and sad to say it appears nothing is what it is hyped up to be. They cancel reservations for different activities due to weather, too long a walk to get to the island, sometimes you can't get a ride on the tram, and the food looks less then appetizing. (plus the flies) Not only that, but you don't even get enough time there.
I supposed flies 🪰are part of the atmosphere with outdoor food service. They may need to completely enclose their food areas with fine mesh nets if they can't control the flies. They should at least label the food selections - especially for folks with food allergies... 🤔 The "trick" to food lines on those private beaches is to wait awhile after the initial rush of people off the boat after arriving.
Kraut and chicken...who'da thunk it!?! Those buns did look dry on that burger and glizzy!! And it's kinda hard to mess up a cucumber salad, but I guess they did it!! Kris, you need to bring the cone or cookie up close to where the ice cream comes out of the machine, then you'll get a better swirl!! Boom!!🤣🤣🤣
I didn't like the food at castaway cay. I feel like the more ships they add to the fleet the service goes down. The food throught the fleet seems repeating, the lunch on first day is always the same no matter the ship
Wow…you would think Disney was brand new to hospitality after watching this. This island is bad show. We’re going on our first cruise in Jan and it’s not Disney cruise line…we also went to a theme park a couple weeks ago and it was silver dollar city, not Disney. They’ve been treating their customers and employees like crap for too long. So sad. 😢
Petition to start interviewing children about their food reviews going forward. LOL
I can't second that! Hahaha! What do kids know about artificial flavor? Funny! Not looking forward to kid's reviews.🙃
Costco guys crossover was unexpected but loved. BOOM

😂😂 me & soft serve machines just do not get along
@wrightdownmainstreet 🤣 comedy gold
@@wrightdownmainstreet Also the raving about the banana soft serve after that crappy buffet 😂👏👏👏
I agree 💯 castaway is the best for food and experience thank so much have a great day 💖 @@wrightdownmainstreet
I was just yelling at my iPad “Higher! Lift your cone/cookie higher!”

How was the steak at the adult only side?
We've enjoyed Castaway in the past, but Lookout - holy moly, no excuse for that food and the bar drinks. Do better, Disney!
The bar was really just the cherry on top. A menu of 8+ unique cocktails & you could only make 1 on it? Wild
They think don’t need to do better until people stop going. Profits over customers is the new Disney motto
That lookout cay portion of the video is just a series of unfortunate events lol
I kept taking hit after hit lol

It's pronounced "Key" , even though it is spelled "Cay" as you said
FYI pronounced “key”

Wait… I don’t understand the “boom” reference. Someone help me understand lol
You don’t know the Costco guys!?!
@ oh no! I’ll have to look it up lol!!
Does Disney send you survey from time to time? Do you answer it? Do you tell them what’s wrong?
I like you go over the food at Disney ! Keep up the good work and thanks
Thanks for watching!
The concept of a cruise line private island is insane to me to begin with. Detached+sanitized+just weird+potentially catastrophic
Come to think of it, a great premise for a zombie movie 🤔
I was soooo disappointed in the food at Castaway 😕
You and your brother work well together.❤

I can't believe this needs to be explained but...ovens are much hotter than a hot day.
Banana ice cream swirl 10/10 🙌🏼

Why does she keep calling the hot dog a "glizzie"? It can't be because Hollywood Studios has Lizzie.
You’ve never heard of it? It’s just another nickname for a hot dog. Heck, I live in Scotland and I’ve heard of it 😂
@@LifeWithMrsB Oh it's slang for a Glock handgun in thug culture. Apparently it started in 2016. So since a hotdog is about the size of a Glock handgun, thugs started using it. That's a really really weird thing for a Disney adult to start pushing.
No surprise here then, the usual highly processed Disney Slop 😂😂😂
The honey bourbon salmon sounded good 🤩
Key, Cay, Quay, all are pronounced “KEY.” Have you ever heard of those “Florida KAYS?” I sure haven’t.
The Florida Keys are spelled Keys not Cays...
From Royal Caribbean frequently asked questions page “How is CocoCay pronounced?
CocoCay is pronounced Coco-Key..”

Go to the beach at LookOut Cay and go back to the boat to eat. Then eat at Cataway Cay.
We loved the adult's BBQ, and you can ask for a ribeye!
Your soft serve skills Lmao. Bad food pretty island got it! I would still love to go.

You have to put the cone/cookie closer to the ice cream machine and slowly put the lever down to have more control of the output. Just fyi.
Disney's much higher prices with much lower quality is not a sustainable plan. 😮

-5 on the swirl
Good grief.. the food looks so bad I think I lost 5 pounds. I mean maybe the pasta salad and ice cream looked ok ❤❤
Disney cruises are not cheap, I’m surprised the food is not up to par.
Ryan … brain freeze cure put your tongue to the roof of your mouth .. it works lol
I’m surprised they haven’t fixed it. They’ve had months and it doesn’t seem to improve 😳
You’re holding the plate too far from the ice cream dispenser it should be 3 to 4 inches away.
Haven't heard many good reviews on this island. Apparently a lot of it wasn't well thought out. I'll stick with Castaway cay...

Thank you for the video. You’ve convinced me to never take a Disney cruise.
I could have told you the food was crappy, Disney food has gone way downhill. Time to start vacationing somewhere else, too overpriced and overrated.
I have watched many Disney cruise videos and I am turned off.
Didn’t you just have a hot dog and the ship, and it was crap stake bun also? Overall the food on this trip of yours looks like total crap.
