hmmm, your hair is also low porosity? Environment may be playing a factor here. Also, I don't use oils or products to "seal" in my moisture. Maybe try massaging grease or a heavy oil(jbco, olive, argon) into your hair to help seal in the moisture? Also, because I've been moisture/hydration training my hair for almost a year, my hair has become accustomed to holding onto moisture. It took me a while. If your hair is protein sensitive, make sure your hair gels don't have protein in it (like ECO style) cause it can make your hair dry and brittle. To combat that i just at a cream under it or only use it every other time I wash n go. Lastly, though I sometimes use conditioners with silicones (Aussie Moist Conditioner, Texture ID Coils Conditioner), I have to strip my chair regularly to keep it from building up. Silicone build up can block moisture from getting to your hair.
      Just to clarify,
      1. You Deep Condition with heat weekly? (I don't miss deep conditioning, even if its in a protective style, I find a way lol)
      2. You add water to your hair and moisturize your hair at least twice a week?
      3. You're using moisturizing products throughout your whole wash day/style?
