AMT made some nice guns back in the day, all in stainless. Very high quality and attention to detail. Besides the pistol in this video, they also made a stainless copy of the Ruger 10/22 and the Ruger Mark II 22 pistol of which I purchased both.
Great to see you shoot this, As I said before I have this pistol and mine operates great. I have the standard barrel while you have the extended barrel, the extended barrel worked better when ported. for me the recoil was not really an issue no worse than a 44 magnum. to me Desert Eagles are worse 7lb. unloaded. anything below a 158 grain bullet and the pistol will not cycle in my experience. put it in a shoulder holster and it is like carrying a brick. So I'll take my 45 Win-Mag any day and it would be great if someone would bring this cartridge back I know a few people that have rifles in their collection chambered in this round and love shooting them.
I owned an AMT .22 autoloader in the 1980's. It was a Ruger Mark II clone. It was very accurate and I tried to shoot matches with it. The problem was that it was a jam-o-matic! I tried everything to make it run and finally got rid of it.
A wonder how the .45 AM compares with the .44 AM?As I understand it the .44 AM is a bit more powerful than the equivalent .44 Magnum revolver cartridge although the power increase might be more to do with the type of gun rather than the cartridge however that wasn't the case with the .357 AM which was more akin to .357 Maximum than .357 Magnum!
Okay Jason, Lord have mercy I'm having to schedule time to keep up on your videos bruh. I see you have been digging in the Jokers collection again, what is the barrel length of that thing 36 inches, Lol... But its damn interesting let me tell ya... Very nice content Jason nicely done..! Jason try and get Jack on with bruh that should be very interesting. How much bigger is the size caliber than a 44 mag??? 😎
With how long that barrel is Jack could port that barrel and it should still perform with little change in ballistics. Long slide with an even longer barrel, aesthetic AF! Would figure the issues may be on the magazine if the springs are weak or recoil spring. Great for handgun hunting!
i almost bought a amt hardballer for cheap because it was an early manufactured example but wen i was inspecting it i found galling in places you dont want to! the heat treat was bad and the whole pistol was soft! amt fixed the issues after this example was produced. i wanted to make a bullseye target pistol out of it but after doing the math on what ide spend on parts and getting the heat treat for the slide and frame that better options wer available. i ended up finding a ruger black hawk in 357 for 220$
I really like my automag lV. After I developed my handload, it'd rarely brought out. I've found the factory plastic grips break easily on my automag lV and automag V so I put wood grips on them and cured that. I'll bring out my automag's on occasion for friends to try but being oop and expensive to replace, it's mostly a safe-queen. korey
@@thetexasgunvault hope they work for ya. mine always started out good. the plastic top and bottom post on the back of the grip is what always gave way under recoil in the .45 win mag and .50 ae. the plastic grips are doing fine on my automag III 9mm win mag but I went through 3 pairs each on the other two and said heck with it and went with wood.
question is? why the hell did they stop making that gun and why dont they make any other guns in that round, and last question is where the HELL can i get a 45 auto mag at? range toy? no way, but it did and still does save peoples lives in grizzly country thats a fact,

Looks like a perfect backup EDC gun for When your ICBM jams.

I did not know they made a rifle. I will have to look into that. Thank you for the information.

Thats a crazy pistol, seems accurate...

That is what I heard about those models.

That is a really good question. I have yet to try out the 44 Automag.

Thank you so much! Yeah, this is a long barrel for sure.
Nice guns amt made.
Had a couple.
Liked the grizzly myself
Thank you and yes they are!
Very cool kinda like that 30 carbine that you did a video on I’ve never seen one before
Thank you! I was hoping people would like it. The Automag V video will come out in a few weeks! It is in .50AE

I do not think it would be good to port. I feel as a collector piece, these should be kept original.
@@thetexasgunvault That's true and fair. Brother would have to commission a custom made barrel to save original barrel and parts.

I still want one. I know they are not the best though.
My 45Colt gets 1100fps with a 350gr slug. In a 4.6 barrel. Pretty gun though.
Thank you so much!

The grips on these seemed to be in good shape.

If they don't make a .46 then what the hell is the. .460 Rowland or the .460 high velocity revolver chambering
@@joemarchinski914 460 rowland is just another name for a jacked up 45acp!
LOL, good point.

Big mans EDC?😂😂😂
Lol, maybe!
460 Rowland is probably more practical.
That is a good point.
AMT was total junk
Some people say that.
@@thetexasgunvault Mine was,AMT 45 1911, jam, jam, jam, my friend had that 22 mag semi auto ,same thing.
