Nothing is better than the mechanical bell. What blows my mind is if we can use recordings of mechanical bells in model railroading, why don't they do that on the prototypes?
Bell working fine, bell started to have problems, bell died, phone dial and ringing, bnsf answers and aware of the dead bell, comes and replaces it with a new e bell
Why does BNSF almost never use WCH electronic bells?? They make a faster, louder and more alarming noise than GS e-bells, which I believe is very important - in my opinion, those should be used at crossings where trains travel 60 mph or higher and GS bells should be reserved for crossings with trains that travel slower since the danger is lower.
Here in new zealand there is mainly Western Cullen Hayes E - bells but there are a few Mechanical bells still around and and a few Safetrain type 3 E - Bells
Sometimes the FRA gives railroads money to replace everything on a given subdivision which they usually replace every signal on the line, however in this case I reported the issue to BNSF and they replaced only the bell.
Why does people keep crossing the railroad crossing when the gates are going down? Don't people even know that is illegal to do that while the gates are going down?
