Commissioner Starkey, I would appreciate it if you would kindly correct your misinformation at 1:24:25, it is dangerous to push incorrect information especially about someone running for County Commissioner. I know we "squawking chickens" all look alike - but it was Nancy Hazelwood who spoke to VOPH not me. I spoke to ad valorem tax rebates and Penny for Pasco loan forgiveness and the two new ad valorem taxes to be imposed on the taxpayers of Pasco County. You are correct, the Citizen's Academy is a phenomenal program - sadly it is difficult for working taxpayers to attend classes at 4 pm for such an extended period of time (about 10 weeks.) Maybe you could consider creating a track that allows working people to attend for greater civic engagement while recognizing that using precious vacation time and/or PTO is a big ask.
Chairman Oakley seemed to have difficulty reading a simple statement. We are out of Free Water but we have Plenty of Water from Tampa Bay Water, maybe we need to stop building lagoons? Forgivable loans from Penny for Pasco given to out of state developers who don’t even meet the requirements for the forgiveness of the loans. Why is this happening? This money was marketed to help with infrastructure and schools not given to out of state companies. New Taxes?
