Burundi is awesome! Enough with the "poorest country in the world" tag. There's way more to Burundi than that.

Those drumers are so talented. That is the stamp that you have been in Burundi. I think I will repeat the video part for the druming multiple times. Now it is the time to enjoy Tanzania 🙂

@logic. When I was growing up in Karusi Province (north of the country) we had a group of drummers next to my grandpa land. When they practiced, we could watch but we were not allowed to touch the drums.
Sometimes they would leave carrying their drums, I didn't know whether they were going to the Commune, to the Province ou to Gitega to the royal palace.

@@stansiyomana1239 Thanks. Did you ever got a chance to learn how to beat them after you grew up?

@@logic-commentetor3258 Since I am not a member of the Batimbo clan (=drummers), I wouldn't be allowed to play the sacred drums in my village.
But some secondary schools had clubs where students could learn how to beat the drums.
The College Don Bosco in Ngozi that I attended (1964-1971) was under construction all those years, and was ran by European Salesian priests, so there was no cultural emphasis. When I join we were 105 students (7th, 8th, 9th class) and we used the temporary buildings offererd by the Ngozi Catholic Diocese. When I left we were about 360 (complete secondary school from 7 th to 13th class ). Now there are about 800 or 1000 students and now girls too are studying there.

We, Africans, dance the narratives teach us to help keep the balance of the earth; thus avoiding natural catastrophes as much as possible. But do we have to make it a spectacle? I am not sure. Just reflections...
