2003 Western Conference First Round Game 5, April 29, 2003 | The Timberwolves needed a strong performance from their star player Kevin Garnett as well as the supporting cast to step up in order to win one of the biggest games in their history. Unfortunately for the home team, KG was the only player to show up. He tallied 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, but one man wasn't enough to beat a 3-time defending champion in the Lakers, who used a dominant second half to pull away and win by a score of 120-90.

If he only left Minnesota earlier in his career. Just imagine had KG left earlier and possibly won 2 or 3 rings in his prime, like Shaq, Duncan and Kobe. He would probably be considered top 10-12, instead he's considered on 15-20 of all time. Kevin Garnett is a perfect example of loyality hurting great atheletes.

Kobe Not Top 100 I think Tim has had the better career, for obvious reasons though. But as far as who's better the gap isn't as wide as some people make it out to be. Garnett at his peak was just as good or better than Duncan. He was also wildly efficient too. Kg was unfortunately saddled with carrying sub-par to mediocre teams as well as being supported by an inept franchise. Kobe in his prime played with Shaq, Gasol, Odom and Bynum. Duncan in his prime played with Robinson, Parker, Manu and now Kawhi. Garnett played with Pierce and Allen, but near the end of his prime. Basketball is a TEAM sport not individual. Yes, u need a franchise star, but u also need quality role players too. Strangely some fans don't get that. Lol
The ridiculous RINGS argument is wut clouds some folks mind when comparing Kg to Tim or Kobe of his era. Top 7? Sadly if Kg he had the "RINGS" thing going then possibly yes. Top 15-20? Absolutely!

Kevin Garnett could have easily joined the Lakers with Kobe and SHAQ or Joined the Detroit Pistons to get very easy multiple Championships. But, No. KG wanted to fight for it the right way. That's why he is a true All Time Great.

Funny how kobe haters don't mention the struggles that shaq had to go against on tough teams like the spurs and blazers including wolves and other teams in the west without kobe they would have not gotten past. Lakers almost got away from 3-1 lead thanks to kobe and shaqs performance
