Your poor mother. You missed the whole point of this sketch. Listen to the ending again. They are saying hypoglycaemia is as real as diabetes and chronic fatigue syndrome, but people think they are faked illnesses. You didn't realise that you are the butt of the joke.
@atrain84 Your mother may have made up having hypoglycaemia, and maybe didn't. Did you see her blood test results? Did you speak to her doctor? Did you look up the symptoms of hypoglycaemia and see if your mother had them? Do you also believe diabetes is made up? I know about the life risking aspects of all three of the conditions mentioned, because I have studied them, worked in hospitals, and have personal experience of people with those conditions. One is my parent, and I have chronic fatigue syndrome. Fortunately for you, you obviously have no idea what it is like to have an Invisible Illness and suffer from people assuming they are made up. No one can take back the damage done caused by ignorance. Also, as the other commenter wrote, David Spade has been reported to have, and been quoted to have, hypoglycaemia. Which makes sense of the skit. Unfortunately, people, such as yourself, only saw what you wanted to see (confirmation bias)- they are faking it, not the satire about people who don't know enough about those conditions immediately jumping to the conclusion that they are faking it.
Honestly the best "get out of work" lie I've ever used was "I had diarrhea". Nobody wants to question that one because it's so gross and its so ubiquitous that everybody has experienced it. Never had an issue with that excuse lol.

@@rightchordleadership Yeah, I guess it's not funny. The truth is the writers for this skit were up all night helping eighty year old Sally Deakins clean up her house after a tragic flood that took her husband's life.

@@lomarsweed6604 It shouldn't be made today because clearly people missed the point of the joke. They thought that people who say they have hypoglycaemia, chronic fatigue syndrome and diabetes are making up excuses and that's the joke.
