    I think the ending worked perfectly, because Bo-Katan DID defeat the enemy that defeated Din - which of course is how Din got the Darksaber in the first place. Din never wanted to be leader, and IMO it makes perfect sense that Bo-Katan had to "earn back" the blade and did it by _saving_ another Mandalorian instead of fighting one. It's a perfect arc for both, because Din isn't a leader, he doesn't want to be, but this way he's joining a greater cause that means a lot to him, namely reclaiming Mandalore.
    I think people gloss over the fact that his first instinct after getting booted out of the CotW was to try to join Bo-Katan's Mandos. He's a Lancer, not a leader.

    I don’t think Grogu was ever really supposed to be a main. He “sold” so he was added back into the story. It’s always been about the whole of Mandalorian culture. Also I see Din as Lancelot and Bo as Arthur.

    • @LeChaunce
      @LeChaunce Год назад +1

      Lancelot ultimately betrayed Arthur and descended into madness as a result. I hope Din is more Gawaine or Percival rather than Lancelot. :)

    I was one of those who loved this episode. It took me back to Season 1 with Din's own PTSD with the B2 Droids and the Ugnaughts. To me it was a Mulder and Sculley type fun episode, but that is mainly cause I could see them going that direction with Din and Bo down the line. If you've seen X-Files, you may know what I'm talking about. It was also a good cop (Bo), bad cop (Din) episode (again due to his PTSD, the droid in the bar had to bring him back to his senses to trust them again).
    I try not to let certain actors showing up ruin episodes for me ... but I'm like you, I'm more into older music, not todays rubbish. I didn't have a clue who Lizzo was.
    The only thing I didn't like was Din handing over the Dark Saber, I wanted him to learn to wield it. It even showed in this episode after his run in with the B2 droids that he was starting to get more control of it, i.e. it didn't slam onto the floor after his sliced that other droid in two. It was like defeating that one B2 droid helped with his own mind ... and then he hands it over 😪 I think Din found a loop hole once he knew he could trust Bo. Din would make a great diplomat.
    The next episode I saw on a big screen at Celebration, it was an amazing episode and watching it with fellow Star Wars fans made it even better.

    I'm certain if they could have, they would have made a show just for Bo-Katan, and they just decided to put her story in this show.

    I suppose not having an opinion about Lizzo was beneficial because I was sitting there mad this whole episode. The 1 really important part was that the planet would recognize Mandalore as a sovereign system. I think that detail could come back someday.

    Right as Din starts to talk to tha Ugnaughts (sp?) and he mentions Qwill, something that looks like a scar appears on Bo’s forehead. It seems to disappear and re-appear through the episode.
    In this scene it seems to appear out of nowhere as she turns her head. It is slanted in the rigjt side so i don’t think it’s wrinkles. I don’t know the back story so if this is a character trait, i would not know it

    Totally agree with this episode being a weirdly-off detour from the main story, and cameos for the sake of cameos don't add anything good either! S3 is the weakest season for me, and the glimmers of action and father/son are too few and far between, but it seems the focus has shifted the longer the show has gone on, which is sad tbh!

    This was my least favorite episode of the season, primarily because of all the cameos. I’ve got nothing against Lizzo but i felt her acting skills sucked and Christopher Lloyd’s speaking voice was betrayed by his age. Jack Black was a little too extra and took away from the show.

    It's pretty clear that Dave Felony took the hard lead in this season and its story/writing to the general detriment of the show. The constant dull side questing, the retreading of old ground (Mando hates droids again? Didnt we watch him get over that season 1?), the constant references to the cartoons that older SW fans couldnt care less about. It's really too bad. Thankfully there's still Andor to consider.

    • @xXHugge12Xx

      You DO know that Dave has been PRETTY busy working on the Ashoka show, so Jon must've essentially been MOSTLY on his own making this season.

      This was all Favreau man, who also wrote the mid Book of Boba show and doesn’t understand Boba’s character whatsoever. Even Temuera has been vocal and critical about the series since it ended, and wants them to do a Season 2 with different writers. Filoni was off doing Ahsoka while shows like Kenobi, Book of Boba, and Mando Season 3 fell through the cracks. Ahsoka is looking pretty good right now, but we’ll have to see. Can’t trust Disney at all these days.

    • @justinsherman9350
      @justinsherman9350 Год назад

      @@ihaveafettfetish9348 I'd heard the exact opposite; that Favreau was the one devoting most all of his energies to Ahsoka, leaving Mando largely in the hands of Feloni. It generally makes more sense to me, as Favreau is a fairly well proven director, and Feloni is essentially the father of the Clone Wars cg cartoons, which the third season of Mando both references excessively and feels almost exactly like to watch. Perhaps it's true though.

    This is not just the shittiest show of the season but for all three seasons. Jack Black was playing a caricature and I never really believed him and Lizzo's acting ability ranges somewhere between Erik Estrada and a gravy ladle. What a waste of time the whole episode was by solving the droid problem when it could have been something else to help the story of the season along. They need to STOP casting people in cameo roles just to try to get non-Star Wars fans interested and stick with what's good for telling the story. This aspect is where the Andor series writing and casting BLOWS away The Mandalorian.

      This was more a series episode rather than a season. The Mandalorians now have new allies from a different planet, which I'm sure will resurface in future seasons when the need arises. The episode also took us back to the previous seasons.
      Please don't compare to Andor, one is written for adults, the other is written for families with young kids. Two totally different written shows.
