This journal is absolutely amazing! Please make videos for each step when you start a new journal. I love your process and ideas. This journal is very study and secure. Thank you!
Thanks for your kind words and your encouragement. I am still contemplating on how to make real process videos, did few, however, on more complex designs.i am happy that you like what I showed.😘
Love the lace on your table...beautiful. Your cover takes my breath away...so gorgeous!! For some reason, working in shades of purple, lavender, etc. always makes me happy. Very interesting layering of purple trims...unexpected, lovely. So many pretty laces...so delightfully feminine. Oh, my! That darker center lace is stunning!! I am definitely looking forward to seeing the finished project! Lace on the spine of the small journal is so pretty...nice choice. Love that I'm getting to see 2 lovely purple journals!! Your narrative has been so informative...thank you!!
Thank you for your kind words, I am very much into laces and I love to work with different colors and material. I am so happy that you like what I showed. 😘
Thank you so much for this. I am making my first large journal and needed to know what each step is. I didn't know about the 2 parts of the cover. So that will be a great help for me. Also the fact of doing all the stencils . I expect you do all the mod podge as well before sewing the signatures. I have already got my papers in order but so afraid to start and then get lost. I love that you have the talent and share it. I haven't dyed any lace before so I will try my hand at that. I wonder if I should have used card stock when I downloaded digital papers? They seem very floppy but maybe when I decorate that will firm them up. I have 2 German penfriends that I hope to send journals to them as gift. So will see how it goes. Again thank you so much
Hi there, I am so excited that my videos could inspire and help you for your large cover. I am sure your pen friends will be over the moon when they receive the journals you made for them. I typically use copy or photo paper for printing the digitals, but I use to back the ephemra with additional paper to make them more stable. Most of the times I sew the edges, just for the looks… glueing is sufficient. Regarding the deco… stamping and stenciling is best done before the binding as is sewing the laces on the paper edges. All other decoration can be done at any time during the process.. Great that you are so determined and are embracing the journal making! I am sure they will turn out very nicely and with experience you will figure out what works best for you. Thanks for your lovely feedback. Take care Martina
