I have never commented on any social network but I feel like I should here.
I came across your video in October. I had been going to the gym 5days/week doing cardio and weight training but the pain in my knees would not allow me to do much. But after trying your 28 days intermediate wall Pilate challenge I felt more motivated, energetic and even less pain in my lower back and knees now. I quit the gym and I have been consistently doing all of your Pilates challenges for 3 months now. I have done your beginner, intermediate and challenge Pilates and have recommended to friends and family.
I have seen the difference in my abdomen, waist, hips, glutes , shoulders and back. I am a registered nurse who works night shift. So the timing on your videos makes it easy for me to be consistent with the challenges and I have no excuses to skip a day
I find bridging up on the wall easier on my back than when I have my feet on the ground. Thank you Rachel and keep up the great work. Don’t listen to the haters who will always have negative comments.

Im so happy these workouts are helping you. and yes I know that to me, and to the majority of ppl on RUclips.. we don't care if something is pilates or not.. we care if it helps us feel stronger, feels good in our bodies etc. I can understand when someone is paying for an intentional "pilates" experience in a studio, but I think the majority of ppl here are happy with a creative blend as long as it helps us reach our goals :) thanks for your comment!

Thank you, and keep up the hard work!

I'm 55 and have always enjoyed variety when it comes to exercise. In recent years I've stopped strength training because it was aggravating back issues that I have. I tried regular pilates but my core is not strong enough to support my back properly on a mat. I found your wall pilates workouts and I have to say I find that having my feet on the wall makes it so much easier for me to stabilise my back. I know I need to strengthen my muscles as I'm aging and now I've found a way that works for me so I can do it consistently. So I really don't care if it's not 'real' pilates. It's movement that's good for my body and mind. That's what matters.

I found you on utube and love doing the wall pilates, standing and floor . I’ve always liked doing regular Pilates . I’m 61 I was 169 lbs. I’m now 130. Sometimes 129 it goes back and fourth. I do an hour a day and also use my total body gym. I would love to have one of those Pilate machines. Or is the wall taking its place with the exercise. I just wanted to say thank you so much for bringing this into my life. Eileen B. (Wife, mom and grandma of 7)

For the past six years, I've been unable to do squats, step aerobics, running or stair climbing because of painful knee issues from degenerative arthritis (probably largely due to years of step aerobics, running, and stair climbing machines). So, for years my only exercise has been outdoor biking, which is great cardio, but my weight & strength have remained largely unchanged.
Last September, my doctor gave me knee injections and a simple home program for stretching and strengthening my legs. We discussed other ways I could safely exercise, and he endorsed pilates. I quickly found your channel and got started.
***Your videos have been the BEST thing for my physical and mental well-being in years!***
You wall pilates videos have made it possible to do lower body strengthening without any pain whatsoever in my knees!! They literally NEVER hurt when I'm doing wall pilates (even though they still hurt a bit when going up & down stairs). Moreover, I'm in the best shape in years, dropped over 10lbs, seldom ever have low back pain anymore, and also have the strongest core and upper body that I've ever had. I faithfully do a rotation of your videos 3 days in a row, take a day off, and repeat. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, RACHEL!

Thanks for this video, Rachel. I did Pilates on the Reformer for a while. It is really wonderful. But, at this point in my life (I’m 71), I wanted to find exercise to strengthen my core and that wasn’t too demanding. At the first of 2024, I committed myself to daily walks and your 28 Day challenge. I have to say that it has been a game-changer! I needed short Pilates sessions. Because it was only 20 minutes, I’ve been consistent - and seen results!
I am glad you were willing to be open to bringing your professional expertise to those of us who needed smaller challenges. It’s made a huge difference for me! Thanks so much!
One more thing - I had a very bad ankle sprain a few years ago. Your exercises have really improved my ankle strength without the risk of falling! 👍

You touched on so many great points. Your program works for me vs others because of your knowledge, you style of guiding through the workout, the transparency around what it will and will not do for you. There are days when I cannot do the whole gym routine and these work outs help me to feel challenged because as you say it's based on where you are and how you can improve on your skills and techniques. I find your workouts effective and stimulating so please keep putting out your workouts. I appreciate them

Hi Rachel, I just wanted to say I think you're doing an amazing job. I really appreciate the all workouts that you have put up here, I was so happy to find workouts that I actually enjoy doing, for free! I love the 28 day challenge idea, and I always have sore muscles from each workout so I know it is helping. The moves are challenging, and I love that all the workouts are different lengths - I think I enjoy being surprised when one goes longer or shorter than I expected, it's just really nice to have the the variety! I'm a 39-year-old mum of 4 kids aged between 3 and 11, and I was finding it really hard to find motivation to fit workouts in amongst all the craziness but because I enjoy your workouts, I look forward to doing it now, instead of trying to avoid working out and then feeling guilty! 😂 So, thank you so much for sharing your expertise and creativity, I really appreciate what you're doing! Belle, from Australia. 💜xx

I have to be honest, I used to hate Pilates; I thought it was boring and a little hard on my neck. But three weeks ago I broke a toe - a small injury with a big impact. I can’t walk and I can’t do standing exercises that require any kind of balance or stability for 6 weeks. So I went looking for Pilates videos and one of your “on the wall” videos was the first one I found. I was able to do all the exercises, pushing through my heels. I wasn’t bored at all and I really like your instruction style. Since then I have done Pilates every day. It’s the most consistent I’ve been with exercise in a long time. Yay to that!
I’ve also done some of your reformer exercises by using tube-style elastic bands anchored in a door. I’d love it if you did some programs like that or if you mentioned modifications for those of us who don’t have a reformer at home. Thanks so much for your videos! They are making a huge positive influence in my health.

I am a special education teacher and while heartedly understand the importance of differentiation. This is the first time I ever spoke out like this, but I feel this is so impactful and the message is super important. Everyone’s needs are different, that is why we’re are different types of workouts, so why not differentiate within a said type. I have extreme lower back issues since my son was born 17 years ago. Dear Rachel!
I'm quite an active woman and a mom of 1. I am dancing 2-3 hours 2-3x times a week - even if ma back has been operated 6 years ago - so I decided that instead of doing HIIT as I used to do in the past, I would rather do something that is more focused on my body balance, on my smaller muscles and of course on my soul balance but still could be challenging. Also, I really appreciate the breathing part because it made me calm down - and for me it's quite a difficult thing to do.
Not all the exercises are super-challenging but I need to admit that I really love and enjoy doing this part as well not just only the glute ones for example which as you mentioned is more difficult than the usual exercise. I'm not doing these on a daily basis because of my working and dancing schedule, but I am doing 2-3 videos one day and maybe the next two days I am dancing, so the rhythm is different but in average I am doing to "required videos". I am extremely grateful for your training sessions so I'm sure I'm going to check all your videos.

I just finished the 28 day challenge for the 9th time. I have thoroughly enjoyed these exercises. I am 57 and do some type of exercise every day--dance fitness, walking, light dumbbell weights, etc. I have never tried Pilates and saw this wall challenge and wanted to give it a try and I am so glad I did. I have seen a transformation in my legs, arms, back and a little in my abs. I recommend it to all of my friends.

I am lovint these exercises so much. I am lovint the 20 min i have to me. I feel a difference in my legs and butt.
My only question, does the weakly challange that rachel posts for each week restart afte4 some time or do we just start at any week?
I would love to do it from beginning afrer the 28 day.

The weekly plan is for ppl who are done with a challenge or who don’t want to do a challenge.. u can start with a challenge first!

Wall Pilates research is how I found you, so thank you for this! Since finishing the 28 day intermediate strength challenge, I have been doing your weekly challenges and love the variety. Question though. Can I go back to your 28 day beginner challenge and continue my progress in strength etc? Adding dumbbell weight? Repeating workouts?

    • @rachelsfitpilates
      @rachelsfitpilates  4 месяца назад +1

yes I would repeat and try to use heavier weights if u have them! or add extra videos

I've only been doing these for a few days, but I already feel a difference in my energy and muscle tone, particularly in my legs. I'm 44 and can't run anymore (ankle) so this seems to be a good alternative, however I seem to feel every exercise in my lower back, no matter how I try to adjust. The pain is now mostly in one side and down my leg, like I've triggered sciatica. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a transitional thing? I've tried tucking my pelvis and focusing on the muscles that are supposed to be working.

So i just boufht the 12 weeks for 24$. I know i could do these things, but i like the idea of the structured schedule that i dont have to plan myself. Or click on any specific video. Is it ok for that? To just get started into a routine?

Is it REAL Pilates? Well, does it meet Joseph Pilates' description of Pilates as an exercise method of Contrology? Just because it is not "traditional" Pilates, doesn't mean it isn't a Pilates-style workout. Kristy Cooper of Pilates Anytime maintains that the exercises practiced in the Pilates method are the vehicle which drive us towards increased awareness, balance, and vitality. And here are the generally accepted "Pilates Principles: Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow. For many, these six principles are the foundation of the Pilates approach to exercise. Their application to the Pilates method of exercise is part of what makes it unique in the fitness world." And 2 quotes from Mr. Pilates himself (from the Pilates Foundation): "The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning develops the body uniformly, corrects posture, restores vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.", and "A few well designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence are worth hours of doing sloppy exercise or forced contortion.". Well, wall Pilates does provide all that to ME. So thank you Rachel. 🥰
