At first, through the screens, we did not understand why the ground was so white. It look like fluid from another car, but it was too much. Then people started to say it had been hail and rain, all at the same time. We looked over the horizon and there was this massive black cloud, just on the other side of the track. Crazy stuff. :D

Jep! I was on Slicks (BMW E34 No 115 in this Video) and I had no possibility to see or steer. Thats why I parked the car... I just didn't came reverse in the Exit... ;-) By the way: We finished as 3. in our class last year... so: God loves our old tank... ;-)
The funniest part was that after the hail had passed, some of the drivers got out of their cars to walk up to each other or workers to find out what next, but apparently driving shoes have about as much traction as slick tires in these conditions. Some of them couldn't manage an uphill walk-- the shoes just slid too much. Just another day at the 'Ring.

Greetings from the UK, I was listening to the coverage on Radio Le Mans at the weekend and was amazed when the commentator said that part of the circuit was getting a hailstorm, your video graphically shows the time and extent of the storm. Obviously the cars where fitted with slick racing tyres so no wonder they could not get traction in those conditions and with approx. 150 entrants the circuit soon became blocked and took 3 hours to get the cars back to the start/finish straight to re-start the race. Sorry to your German viewers but I cant write in German!
Green Hell with a white frosting. That many drivers (50? ,100???) in race prepped cars getting that caravan stopped without smashing each other up says a lot about their skill and understanding of the art. Nice work.

7 hours and 23 minutes raced in 2024. Race was never resumed and declared over 2 hours early... And the Audi guys still cried because they "won"... I would have been sad to win like that.
I drove the BMW before. We parked our Car's because we where not able to see or steer if we were faster then pedestrian speed. The race was red flagged minutes after, so nobody was out of competition.... With best wishes, Chris

Dont worry much. Trees definitely has got some similiar memories of moments, they can regenerate. But I would wonder more about the cars exhalations...(anyway I love circuits in the nature, and driving on such a roads). Our world should ASAP shift to E85 at least(mixture of 85% etanol, 15% petrol), works very good with most cars.
It is for safety. The fastest Vehicles (mostly Sp9 = GT3 Spec Cars) get those so they can be recognized easier by the slower cars on the circuit, espiacially at Night or in bad weather conditions, when lights are the only thing you can see. They need to do this because of they high differences in speed, the slowest Cars have maybe around 200hp and nearly no Downforce, while the GT3 Cars have around 500hp and a lot of downforce.

Die Porsche - zumindest die 911er waren sogar im Vorteil dank des Heckmotors sieht man teilweise wo bei den BMW und Mercedes schon die Hinterachse wegrutscht die 911 noch schön locker vorbeikriechen z.B: ab 6:00 . Der Cayman ist im Matsch wohl eingesunken und quasi auf Grund gelaufen und kam nicht mehr weg.

there were windy conditions with rain and hail. but there was no snow or ice. it was slippery because of the hailstones. temperatures at that weekend was 6-19 degrees celsius or 43-66 degrees fahrenheit.
