Thank you Lynden. Your explanations nice and clear. I wish I could start following you 3 years ago when I just started to play my first notes on sax. Now I’m addicted to your videos. 👍👍👍🙌
Very positive video Lynden. I'm still on the fence about learning scales etc, but you've nudged me in the right direction I think. Maybe this winter.😉🙂
@@lyndenblades ok thanks: one question: have you ever done a video on the 'anatole' (in french) or 'turnaround' (in english) pattern : I - VI - II - V - I ? I would be very please to listen to such a vid. Thanks a lot .
Lynden, it is always rewarding, when I cycle back to your videos. I take your videos to drive my practice. For fun, you can tell folks one of your fans, new to sax, say’s his embouchure is more immature, and often sounds like manure. Folks have likened his sax skills to Coltrane, unfortunately, it’s Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane from Duke of Hazard. Have a good day.
Everyone I know is using the NUX B6 wireless mic - wireless in every way, selectable EQ, small, portable and half the price of your set up. Even pros like Matt McKay, Michael Ghegan and Jay Metcalf.
Been using this mic everyday for over a year and guess what?.........it's pretty good but since the transmitter casing in plastic, there are popping problems and second issue is the lack of removable battery especially since now I can only get a little more than 2hours from the transmitter!!👊🏾😡
I use the nux b6 and am very happy. It has a bit more key noise than the akg setup I also have but the receiver doesn’t need mains powering so for weddings outdoors it is brilliant. I get about 3 hours out of mine and plug it into a zoom v3 vocal processor (which runs on 4xAA batteries) for reverb and delay fx.
Thanks Lynden for this gem from you. Can you tell me what mic are you using now on this video also what speaker do you use to connect your mixer to and is it a single speaker?
Hi Peter, I use a Rode NT1A for the sax on the RUclips clips and all other kit is mentioned here ruclips.net/video/FWcM0qmcu-M/видео.htmlfeature=shared 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
This is all sound advice, but I would add an important caveat - like any form of improvisation, it’s important to understand the stylistic nuances of the music you are playing with. A lot of house and dance music has quite specific phrasing and stylistic patterns or motifs - in the same way blues or bebop or any genre does. Just noodling in the right key will not sound that great if it doesn’t fit the specific style of music the DJ is playing.
Love the examples of riffs from scales ......its spurred me on!
Kay thank you so much 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

Hiya, yes that’s right I’ve seen them and if that works then perfect 👌 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷

Hiya, sorry to hear that but that’s exactly the kind of reviews I have heard about the cheaper options unfortunately

Hello. Thanks for the video. One question: what is the reason why you are not doing the major pentatonic/blues scales on a major track?
Hiya Kooky, you absolutely could use the major pentatonic over the major track if you wanted to 👍👍👍😎😎🎷🎷
