thank you for this ....I am definitely a visual learner! For me personally, I find it faster and less stress on hands to pick up with crochet hook and the place on knitting needle... I cannot knit without a crochet nearby.. great tool!

Hi Stacy - I can't thank you enough for your videos. I'm a pandemic knitter, so my teachers are all remote. After my first scarves, I've made two sweaters, thanks to you and all your help.

Me too, another plandemic knitter, after a 50 year hiatus. Stacy's videos have been a life saver. I can rewatch and rewatch adnauseum and no one is complaining. SLO MO is PERFECT for me.
I want a short cut to washing and blocking. I am going to use a steam iron very carefully.

I am fairly new to knitting (crocheted most of my life), so having these slow motion videos to help is so appreciated! I used to watch you all the time several years back but then stopped knitting and crocheting for several reasons. Now that I'm picking it up again, these are so helpful! Slow motion on picking up gusset stitches for sock knitting would be appreciated so much! Thanks!

Would love to see a slomo video on picking up kfb edge stitches when accidentally dropped (if that makes any sense!)! Sometimes they have a y/o just before the kfb stitch! Very confusing to fix! Thank you! Have learned so very much from your videos and patterns!

    Excellent Stacy, as always.
    I have a question:
What's the reason of knitting, say, 3 stitches, and then skipping 1? Is it so the knitted piece doesn't look bunched up?

Can you make a video on how to pick up stitches along the side of a piece of garter stitch worked in two different colors? Thr pattern is a four row repeat of colo changing and I can't seem to visualize the V along the edge.

  • @Christinitamb
    @Christinitamb 5 лет назад +1

I have always picked up stitches this way but I made a reversible sweater and didn't want a line of Vs where I picked up stitches all the way around the sweater. So I picked up through only 1 leg of the V figuring it would be fine and what's the point of picking up through 2, will that affect the integrity of the sweater?! It's already done and edges woven so at this point I am plum out of luck regardless.

Can you use this technique if you want to make your garment longer? In other words, pick up cast off stitches and continue knitting until desired length. My shawl is shorter than I prefer, I’d like to buy another ball of yarn in the same color, pick up and continue from there. Please help :) your a gifted instructor.

I have a pattern that says cast on 3 stitches. K 7 rows and turn 90 degrees clockwise and pick up 3 st. Then turn 90 degrees clockwise again and pick up 3 stitches having a total of 9 stitches. I can’t seem to master this. Do you have a video or can you make a video so i can see how it’s done when i do it it isn’t a smooth turn for me. Thank you. Your videos are so easy to follow.

Q: if I want to pick up stitches with a crochet hook instead, or do a single crochet instead of an I cord around the collar or cuff, will I get a similar result?

  • @richardthiessen7945

    Thanks, Statcy
When picking up stitches, because we're pulling the stiches through to one side of the piece, is looks like the "new" work will be at 90 degrees to the "old" work. Is this the correct way to look at it?

    • @verypinkknits

Whenever a pattern instructs it...it is used to add borders, add buttonbands to sweaters, in etrelac knitting...just to name a few.

Those instructions are very specific to your pattern...please contact the pattern designer directly with your question. Ravelry message is usually a good way to reach designers.
