So to clarify, the definition of SLD basically implies brain deficits in one or multiple areas? On my IEP, it's just listed as a SLD under the category of reading comprehension and math/math reasoning. So by that, are they implying reading comprehension deficit and Dyscaculia without the labels? I apologize, I have lots to learn still. What I do know is that the schools just tackle the struggles of a student with an SLD in the areas that qualify for an SLD so therefore thinking, math calculations, reading, writing, listening, oral expression, and spelling.

    Love this!!
We’re learning RTIs now and sometimes I find certain things confusing. I am so happy you made this video.

I'm so glad I found your channel! I am just now starting my first year as a school psych but watching your videos have been a great refresher! You do a great job of simplifying the information and making it easy to understand.
Would you be able to make a video on how deficits in the different cognitive areas would impact students' achievement in different areas? Basically how you gave that example of memory. I hope that question makes sense. I went to grad school in a different state than where I will be working so I was mainly taught about RTI rather than the pattern of strengths and weaknesses model. Thank you so much!

So good :) I love your videos because they reassure me that I’m doing well. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed as a grad student, but this affirmed to me that I have learned a lot and that I can be confident in what I’m doing once I graduate

I felt overwhelmed so much during grad school too, so that's totally a normal feeling!

Great video and super digestive content. What’s the difference between RTI and PBIS?

    • @rachelferagne2188

Thank you! RTI is more tiered intervention towards academics, while PBIS is tiered intervention to target social/emotional/behavior.

You should do a video about autism because I would like to know more about it. I’m training right now to be an Austin’s behavioral technician. I just recently got my Associates degree in psychology and currently working on my Bachelors. I’m keeping up my GPA to get accepted into a dual masters program so I can become a school psychologist. 💕
