Great story! My wife and I built a V-8 Pinto while we were dating in the 80s. On its maiden run, without tailpipes, there were flames coming through a little hole in the firewall and burned her leg. She still married me. Today is our 36th anniversary and cars have been a big part of our life together. I put a 350 in my Dad's old S-10 and like to think of all the times we rode in it together as I now drive in it without him. Good memories!
Thanks for sharing your story. What's not to love about a lady who has a serious hot rod Hobby!? I love the lines on that 33. It just has a laid-back angle to it. And most of all that you took interest in building it. I've been enjoying all of Speedway employees hot rod stories and rides
So inspiring!!!!! There is a deep connection between man/woman and machine. I cannot describe it to you. But if you know, you know. That is what keeps my passion alive for hot rodding as well. Your dad would be proud of you.!!!!! Great job!!!! Enjoy!!!
Yup absolutely get in drive nothing matters people who are not into what we do just don't get it you can't buy a hot rod you build it it's part of you .looks brilliant and will always be you and your dads build .
Great car Jess and even a better story. My son and I built the 32 in my avatar started when he was 13 and finished when he was 18. We did 9 states and 4000 miles on a road trip that year. Hot rodis do create a bond. We have another project started now and he is 28. Only thoughts on the car do not get it too nice just drive it have fun and let everyone ask you when you are going to finish it and you can say it is finished.
Get a Matt/clearcoat finish by the same color as your primer.. Great to see, a Father Daughter, building a car.. Sounds as though you found your Soul mate, all the best in the future..
Beautiful car, well done, but I worry about your front suspension. The off set wheels have spoiled the king pin inculcation. This puts undue strain on the spindle. Be safe . Gramps

Love the air filter. I have the same one on my 34. Just a style you don't see that often.
I see plenty of Speedway parts on there!
Great video !!!
