There were a ton of games I had not heard of yet that we are for sure adding to our wish list! Thanks for sharing and joining in the collab!
And I agree. We play winners and loses her as well. The life skills kids learning during games are so important. And learning them through games makes it fun.

Agreed! Important to teach them how to be both gracious winners and loosers

Totally get it! One of the problems in society in this generation is the self esteem programs 😕 we need to teach our kids to lose and learn from their mistakes, as a Mexican mom I can tell you our kids our more mature in that aspect. Now American people want to give Trophies 🏆 to every kid just for participating, what are you teaching them with that 🙄 to not even try in my opinion.
Thanks for the information I think you are an amazing mom and very Intelligent women, thanks for the information you have a beautiful heart ❤️
I have a 4 year old and I was scare of pulling my 8 and 6 year old out of school so I Can home school but with your information I feel more confident, keep doing your videos, there will be a day when people will need them 🙌🏼 and they will go viral!!
Thanks for the confidence 💕 I’m not happy with the way schools are in USA

We also play games only by the rules and if the kids lose, well, that happens.
But darn, I think You made some Australians boil with the map description, haha

Sunday morning is our game time, and the favorite is Code Breaker! My 6 year old just loves it! She loves breaking the codes and also making codes for us old people to squirm in our seats as we try to figure them out! Haha!!
Also, we do NOT change any rules to make everybody win, because to me the biggest benefit to playing games is learning to play by the rules and to win or lose well. The only exception is Kerplunk, my 4 year old CANNOT grasp that she is supposed to avoid getting the marbles. She gets so excited when the marbles fall, it’s really funny and we’ve finally given up explaining it. 😂
    Thanks for the great video!!!

I feel there is so many great games that are great for learning! It's a great way if it works for you and your kids. I think for myself it will be supplemented but not a full day of gameschooling. Maybe once a week do a full day of it because who doesn't like a day full of games!

There's a good chunk of these I'd never heard of before, and a few more I've seen and heard of but haven't gotten to play yet. Love finding and playing a new game! Even Stevens Odd is one of our favorite math games. There's a handful of cards my 5 year old can participate with, but my 9 year old and my husband and I get SO competitive with it- lots of fun! Right now we use games in those looooong hours of between the end of lessons, and dinner time 🙃 usually when the, "can we watch a show?" questions comes out.

Thank you for the added game suggestion 💕 Games are a great option over screen time. Sometimes I make my kids play a game with each other and they all complain until they are playing, then everyone is laughing and having a good time

I love these videos and always find new options to add. We do Fun Friday and this year I’m adding more games in. Love this! Thanks for sharing!

Some of our favorite games (6 and 3 year old boys): No Stress Chess (it taught my son to play chess at 5), Sum Swamp and Mathemagical World (essentially the same game but MW is longer and has extra dice for expanding the math), Exact Change (this one is FUN and my personal favorite).
I promise we wouldn't have minded you filming in the basement 😜

Lol. It was 6 in one, half a dozen in the other. I would have had to set up all my filming equipment downstairs

We love games! I am a working mom and so when I’m gone for something a lot of time my husband will get out a game with the kids and then he doesn’t have to worry about lesson plans or whatever. We also have screen-free Sundays in our house so we do a lot of board games on Sundays! We LOVE Prof Noggin games. I think have 4 different ones. My kids also enjoy the Guess in 10 games (many versions), Weird but True, Scabs and Guts, and recently they have been having a good time with Timeline Inventions.

So I started out incorporating games only on "Fun Friday", but then I saw how much faster my son learned when playing games so we ply a game to replace one subject on more days than not for example we play sum swamp for math one day, zingo for sight words for reading etc. Hope that makes sense -- also we use All About Reading curriculum and they put games in at least one of every 3 lessons or more often which keeps my son engaged.

I let my kiddo win on occasion just to help him have a continuing desire to play. If he loses too often he just starts to hate the game

I have not done gameschooling well but this year I put it on the schedule. Hopefully that helps us add it in. I have bought some games for our science and social studies units we are working on.
