I still think that this is easily one of the best if not THE best Supercross races I have ever seen. Who else remembers watching this live with their fucking jaw hanging open from the track conditions? And seriously, Reed's bike failing on the second to last turn still has to be one of the most shocking/disappointing/unexpected twists I have ever seen in a race! Honestly, this race was much closer to an Enduro race then a Supercross race. Who's bike is still working at the end??? YOU WIN!
tankmaster1018 The best SX race ever was Orlando, 2007. It was an epic 20 lap battle between James and Ricky - RC's last battle with JS and the #7 prevailed.
By far the most exciting, knarliest race I have every had the pleasure of watching. The bike sticking out of the mud at 6:40 was just insane. lol great race! Honda FTW!! :)
I remember sitting in the hotel room before going to wrestle the next day and my dad and brothers were losing their minds, I always think back to that every year while watching Daytona and getting a bit glad I have that memory
Chad reed is such a dirty rider! Not trying to be a hater because he could SMOKE me but man you can not cut the track like that. Of course it's hard in deep mud like this but still not an excuse. Awesome race!
Not an excuse, but you either make a split decision, cut the track and save the crash, or stay on the track, crash, and probably end up in 20th+ place at the end.
Should have put the clip at the end of KW face covered with mud saying "this daytona dirt never tasted so sweet" I was there and the crowd went ballistic when Reed's bike quit, and KW went around him at the end. Incredible Race!
I don't blame Ree for cutting a bit, I mean it's VERY VERY competitive, especially in that condition. Happy that Windham won that one, yet devastated to see Reed not even having the ability to finish the race
How can the ruts be over 4ft in some areas? I mean the bike can't physically make a 4ft deep rut cause it's just over 4ft from ground to handlebar... : /
Having my bike die like that on one of the last turns in a race this big would have reduced me to tears live on television... Can't imagine a more brutal way to lose the Daytona then that, especially when you worked as hard as Reed did to come back over and over again after his minor crashes earlier in the race. Not a big fan of Chad Reed myself either, but there isn't a single time I've watched this clip and felt any feelings towards him besides soul crushing sorrow and sympathy. On the other hand, how cool would it be to be Kevin Windham who probably already resigned himself to not even placing in the top 3, and then you turn the last corner and see the checkered flag... I would have thought I was dreaming honestly!
thats why i bought a Honda!!!.........lol even though any factory bike is better than a stock bike by far of course but still gives a honda rider like myself room to talk junk....awesome race!!
Would the win have gone to Reed after cutting the track. You might excuse one time but Reed crossed into the Alessi and J-Law zone multiple times so I’m thinking NO!
Back when speed channel was good man my childhood 😌
Cant believe its been almost 15 years! feels like 5 years ago! what an amazing race. today that sucker woulda been a 3 lap race.
Legend has it reeds bike still sits out there
How did it even get stuck like that?
Hahahahahah...lmfao 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂!!!!
Levi Klatt Racing how do you think?
John h he was ahead enough not to push so hurt that engine. He would have thought that he was in the last lap and the engine was far too wasted.
I was there in the stands. Most fun race to watch even in the rain.
That was probably fucking intense! By the time this race started heating up, I doubt anyone was even aware of the fact it was still raining.
386Outdoors ri
I was there in the Carmichael section and it was as fun and intense to watch as it was cold from the rain and wind.
The most epic supercross race ever... I remember going nuts watching this on TV the first time... INTENSE
I remember watching this with my dad. When chad reeds bike broke, i couldn't believe my eyes.

I never realized how much ricky carmichael looks like rob dyrdek... hahah

Ha ha I get it, dirty because of the mud....well played sir.
I watched this race so many times and I still love it
i'm not into supercross but that was legendary
wow i remember this race like it was yesterday this is one of thee best SX races ever
Should have put the clip at the end of KW face covered with mud saying "this daytona dirt never tasted so sweet" I was there and the crowd went ballistic when Reed's bike quit, and KW went around him at the end. Incredible Race!
holy imagine the work needing to be done after a race like that.... lol epic race
Karma for cutting the track twice
Exactly!, poor sport couldn't beat Windham on the track.
+RemoteMowersCom lol stfu pls
kw was gonna bust his ass anyway wit his cheating ass hahaha
Beat him for the Championship....
RemoteMowersCom it was only because he was thrown off track by his line soo stfu
I still smile when I watch this 10 years later....
this is something else maan..
I think it’s karma for what Chad did at 5:35
That’s dirty to come onto the track and try a block pass at the same time.
He used to cheat like that whenever he went off track
supercross pilgrims to this day still flock to daytona speedway to see the legendary twotwo bike. forever engraved into the mud of daytona.
I was there soaked, dirty, muddy, and loving it
I was at this race when I was 6 and remember that finish to this day
Brings a tear to my eye..
I don't blame Ree for cutting a bit, I mean it's VERY VERY competitive, especially in that condition. Happy that Windham won that one, yet devastated to see Reed not even having the ability to finish the race
im glad i can say i was there
thats why i got a honda :)
Everyone talking say how reed cut the track and all that and I’m over here feeling bad for the track prep guy😂😂
this is my kind of race, i love it!
For fact the greatest race ever.
Reed was Just awesome that day.. ..He deserved the win so much.
Some of his wildest riding was when him and stewart dueled it out...I miss those days!He may be a dirty rider but he is still a contender in my book.
I was here! I remember reed absolutely handing it to everyone
It's Enduro! Awesome race!
This is amazing
This was such an intense race. Poor Chad lmao
6:22 HAHAHAHAAAAAAA How does that happen??!!! xD
God dam i miss the speed channel
Looks Like Son Uva Digger VS. Grave Digger In World Finals 2022
that looks like so much fun tbh
i was there and it rained way worse than it looks on tv!!
Is this Enduro cross?lol
Daytona is the best sx track forsure
This is another example of why Chad Reed is on a self-owned team.
That looks so fun
mud races are hell
These drivers are very hard. keep on going
KW for the pass! The rest is history. Love the Kawi stuck in the mud.
Greatest race ever.
That mud and water mustuve got into his airbox, sucked through the filter, and BAM, no more top end!
There’s a part of Chad’s soul still out on that infield.
@ 8:52 KEVIN WINDHAM IS GOING TO WIN THE DAYTONA SUPERCROSS BY HONDA!!!!!! Is my favorite part
3:45 excellent tv coverage😂
how to blow up a top notch bike in one race =) respect to the mud !
Came here after wathcing yesterdays newyork mud race
CHAD REED YOU ARE STILL THE BEST!!!
And Final Race In Indy 500 2011 In Final Lap For Dan Wins!
How can the ruts be over 4ft in some areas? I mean the bike can't physically make a 4ft deep rut cause it's just over 4ft from ground to handlebar... : /
Like snails on valium! Look how slow they are! It's hilarious! :D
That's f'ing hard work
Agreed. Racing in mud takes another skill set all together. He wouldn't understand that because he has never raced a dirtbike in the mud apparently.
I've been watching chad race for a long time... he turns into a complete baby when things don't go his way. tough break on this one tho
Having my bike die like that on one of the last turns in a race this big would have reduced me to tears live on television... I remember this, good old Chad "Track Cutter" Reed.
I miss watching the old school guys race,,,,I still wear a Carmichael hat to this day
Honda all the way baby! Windam is the man!!!
thats why i bought a Honda!!!.........lol even though any factory bike is better than a stock bike by far of course but still gives a honda rider like myself room to talk junk....awesome race!!
Lucas Bullard Stfu, that can happen to any bike dumbass. Red sits at the bottom and blue stands at the top.
Yamaha's are amazing bikes.. Reed just can't fucking ride.
Team Green all the way.
Diego Zambrano Blues for casuals, we all know it takes a better rider to be fast on them hondas rather than them Yama's
The crazy thing is when the tracks like this a solid B woods racer could be really competitive
I don't remember. I haven't watched this in a long time, but based on your comment and your screen name, I'd have to say you're about 14 years old?
bikes were smoaking on the start ftw
and that must be heart breaking for reed just 2 turns away!!
Chad still won the championship!
I live in Daytona Beach i go to the supercross race Every year i cant believe how this was ten years ago already what happened to the time
wow thats muddy track best race ever
the best race ever
i was at this race when i was 8 in the rain #14
Haha yeah I remember that one. Tough one for Reed
best race ever!!!!!!!!
I mean I feel really bad for Reed, but even if he did finish he still would've been docked the win for cutting and passing Windham.
THIS IS SUPERCROSS!!!!!
I personally think the new generation of riders couldn't handle a race like this...this is when motocross was in it's prime
Nah they could, if anything the fitness has only gone up. I agree though, the racing at this time period was unmatched.
the best race
Sorry if this is a dumb question but could chad have pushed his bike over the line for the win?
no, the bike has to finish under its own power
Would the win have gone to Reed after cutting the track. You might excuse one time but Reed crossed into the Alessi and J-Law zone multiple times so I’m thinking NO!
windham is like the cleanest after all this
those poor bikes! now I know why james stewart went to susuki
Jack Smith
Suzuki all the way..
Ken Jackson that can happen to any bike dumbass. Suzuki trash anyway, heavy and low power.
Diego Zambrano the best handling bike on the track dumbass
rain or shine baby!!!
i think it does have to do with skill. riding through mud and keeping the bike running take skill. i like it
This is the only supercross race I think I could've won
The long walk of agony of defeat
@ 5:00 pretty gnarly rooster to the face
Should be a mudder this weekend in Daytona 2024
"Smoke is steaming out of these bikes"
BASS TO THE MAX 😂😂👌
Yamaha is actually considered more reliable than Honda, I love both companies, but right now I have a kawasaki, and I'm really happy with it.
What's the song at the beginning?
Pain - Three Days Grace
Muito bom,
@Kaijisss Just because a shovel is only 3 ft. doesnt mean you can't make a 50 ft. hole... (:
Antonio Balbi has finished in 3rd?
couldnt reed push the bike?
Badass race !!!! Cheap as Comeback by reed tho in the corner but shit in that condition it's harder them shit to even see so water but Awesome Race
cual es la musica q sale al principio
Reed didn't lose because he got stuck in a rut. He fried his clutch.
Reed on the Yami!
