Keep in mind while Denver is certainly more walkable than Texas, it isn’t as walkable relative to several US cities (Seattle, Portland, DC, Chicago, Philly, Boston , NYC just to name a couple).
It certainly is not walkable at all compared to worldwide standards of walkability. Just want to let others know that!

    Other Pros:
    - Maverik is a pretty decent Convenience Store
    - Some local businesses are just over-the-top friendly and awesome
    - Seriously lots to explore, hard to get bored
    - Tons of Mexican cuisine
    -???
    Cons:
    - Middle Name Requirement for Drivers License...
    - Psycho drivers
    - Dank weed smell can get annoying after a while
    - No oceans/real beaches
    - Too much suburbia and not enough old downtowns like Old Littleton, Parker, etc.

With Car registration, if you're a disabled military veteran the registration is free. I don't know if this is included with anyone that's disabled normally, I'm caregiver to a disabled veteran and since we co-own the vehicle I use to care for him, we don't pay registration fees. I guess you’d have to be from Texas to consider it walkable lol because by most standards I find the sprawl disgusting. Along with air pollution and overall blandness. If anyone reads this please don’t do it on a whim like I did because a couple ppl you know loved it. I find it’s largely ppl who only lived in one of the nearby states/midwest their whole lives that find it great. Or if you’re obsessed with mountain sports and are willing to spend an hour in traffic just to see anything remotely pretty. It was the most miserable year and a half of my life. And I lived in Vegas 🤢.

Oh god. Of course they're from Texas - me, also from Texas
I will say, if you are moving here from out of state, try to at least live by a couple of rules: try to assimilate a bit and don't be an a**hole. You will find that the real natives, the people who are second, third, fourth generation are the kindest people who will give you the clothes off their backs. Do not take advantage of their kindness, keep in mind, though, that they are incredibly fierce and protective of their city and state. Do not try to make this place something that its not.

  • @SillyTube9

If you live in the Midwest or South, and you’re female, Denver is better simply because (for now) you still have bodily autonomy there (unlike Texas), and can get an abortion if you need one. This is not the case in the stupider states.

You should probably have someone speak to this who are coming from someplace civilized - Texas, that ain’t. If you’ve lived in some podunk place in the middle of the country, Denver might (LOL) seem better than where they came from. But if you’re coming from NY, LA, Europe, Japan, Canada, basically anywhere other than the Midwest or South, it’s better there, than Denver. To them, Denver is going to be boring, provincial, narrow-minded, bizarrely religious, and stupidly rightwing. The only advantage Denver has, is that it’s cheaper, but that’s balanced out with the fact that there are no good jobs in Denver, so if you still want to get paid a real salary, you’re still gonna need a remote job based somewhere like… NY or LA.

The cost of living in the Denver metro area was cheap when I moved here in 1997. But the cost of living here has almost tripled since the late 1990s. A 750-square-foot house near Lakeside was sold for $650,000 last year! The native Coloradians are nice and friendly, but they share too much personal information. They tell you their life story when you first meet them. If you want to live comfortably in the Denver metro area, you need to earn at least $150K a year.
