This was my brother and I's first ever Gunpla kit. It holds a special place in our hearts because we found it in our local Gamestop, in the middle of Minnesota. We were not missing out on the chance of a Gunpla kit when it was right in front of us. never found another kit on the shelves.
Now our Zaku is standing besides the universe grandaddy and unicorn, 30MM Blue Alto(w/ White commander armor) and Grey Portanova, HG Veetwo Gundam, and 2 RG unicorns(1 regular, 1 full armor).
When did you find it at a Gamestop?

Fun fact: you can actually open up the middle of the chest area in order to give more room for a deeper ab crunch

Seeing this kit made remember the ova series Bernie deserved better than being disintegrated with a beam saver.
On a side note great review as always.
Apparently the novel version had a somewhat happier ending, although I have no Idea where I can read it

Gundam MK III is awesome, i Will give Him a try, Maybe because his Size, very flexible, and sturdy i think
I'm glad it comes with that alternative 'fritz' helmet, I find the default head looks a bit small for the body, whereas the fritz helmet looks perfect. Here's hoping for a Capital Defense Division variant as a P-Bandai, the FZ looks so good in white.
I can’t help but feel that the dark green sections could use a mat finish to help off set the light green gloss

6:30 I have to admit when I first saw this kit I had not seen war in the pocket yet so i was like oh I love that other head thats what I'm using, then I watched it and its gotta be Bernie's zaku all the way.
I was really amazed to see this kit for sale at Barnes and Noble book store of all places, i wasnt sure what to think of it but after this review I may just go pick one up.
The big ones have Bandai sections now meaning their plastic models too unless you meant it was at a discount
Ugh that axe was almost perfect! It's so much better than the all-gray default axe most MG Zakus get. Love the weapons this one comes with. I'll have to order one sometime. :D

My first kit! Didn't realize it at the time but I kinda spoiled myself starting out with something this nice.
Bernie's death was undeserved
especially considering he was killed by his "girlfriend" not knowing who she was fighting,
if I recall she made a letter to him and his brother saying she'd love to meet up with him again
which saddened me way more
I wanted this review for a long time already bro !
I actually bought 3 of these after I built the first one, the build is so fun and the detail is actually really good.

@@mattr.1804 after work I'll check if I have any extra mg zaku's in the box still. I know I have some mg barbatos left. I'm currently taking a break from gunpla and I'm working on dnd minis.
As long as you’re not painting the rubber cables are much better in my opinion, they secure more tightly and are better for articulation.
They are gonna melt due to age, tho.

Awesome review as always! Thanks. The 2 things that really drives me nuts with the new design of this kit are the knee caps and the shape of the Fritz helmet. Wish it had more weapons.

It's pretty worth it imo, sitting next to the alex it looks so right.
Truthfully... I stuck with the fritz helm too. It just looks so nice on there.
I’ve always wanted one of these zakus. My favorite gundam that i own must be my astray blue frame mg (i forgot which type) but the rest of my gundams are the ones that age badly so i guess this would be a good start to get me back into the hobby

The concern about having no polycaps at all is the fact it's plastic-against-plastic joints which made them prone to loose overtime.
And stress marks, as well as breaking...

This kit has better look than the MG Zaku ver 2.0 in my opinion. From this video only, I cannot tell that the RE100 FZ has less detail compared to the MG. What details are missing on the RE100? The Legs on the RE100 clearly looks much more detailed on the video.
I may have to pick this guy up-the original no-grade 1/144 was my first full size Gunpla almost 30 years ago(!). At the time polycaps were a new thing, as the kits before it had rather poor articulation and were made of a harder more brittle plastic.
Man I love that WWII German-esk head type. Just wish they had a command fin type
For hollow pieces I have a way of filling them in with pieces of cut up runners and Tamiya cement that melts the pieces inside the hollow gaps and then I wait for it to dry. Then I sand it down and leave it as is or I can paint it. Then it looks great. I’ve done it with HG kits with hollow feet and some weapons like the stored scythe for the Deathsythe and then I scribed in the extra details to make it look more uniformed. I wonder if anyone else has done that with their kits?
Wonderful kit looks like a retro mastergrade with modern articulation. This is how the re 100 should be.
At 1st I was shocked gundarium but u right it deserves it. I want one to go with my alex I'm building at the moment. So this is going to the top of the to get list. Also I havent built a zaku in forever... actually I've only built 1 zaku and that was years ago

Hey mecha gaikotsu i have the same model kit but it is hg zaku 2 kai but my eye zaku kai sticker got damage because of my lackness of zaku building experience but how do i fix it ?? Can anyone give some advice
I wish Bandai would go back and give this treatment to the GP04 Gerbera. That suit is just awesome. I’m quite sad that its feet are so paralyzed.
I just got the Gundam now. And bro i'm so hyped! But I'm supposed to build it in 2 days because of school. But it will be worth it

The only RE100 kit that ever caught my attention was the Nightingale, when I discovered what a disappointment that kit was I kind of lost interest in the line (from what I understand I haven't missed out on much with them) but god damn this kit actually looks pretty nice. Hopefully future RE100 kits will take after this one.
That being said the hollow sections on some of the accessories would bug me until of time... like some of them aren't even that apparent but in the back of your mind you'd always know that they were there haha.
I take my gunpla to another level and I fill in the hollow pieces like that with the same color runners and melt it in place with Tamiya cement. Then I wait for it to dry and then I sand it and then I can either leave it as is or paint it. Then I don’t have to worry about the hollow pieces anymore.

If You move that cockpit red part foward the bend in stomach section is even better.

Huh...can really see the development of the geara doga in this kit. Also, they are called 'cracker grenades'
My only real complaint is why wasn't this a mastergrade? They already have a 2.0 Zaku frame.
Im sorry, its dosent have "better colors" its just way more saturated, and way too much imo, definitely repainting it if I decide to get it

So just as the RG started abandoning the Advanced MS Joints and became better for it, the RE/100 line doing the same with its poly caps should make them much better.

@@vivid_swatch2091 I built it like 3 weeks ago and its legs are fine. In fact I just went and gave the kit a shake and the legs stayed in place. No drooping, no rotation, nothing. Ankles are sturdy too. Dunno where you're getting this from.

4 years after this video, Bandai has seemingly abandoned this line. And it's very difficult to find this kit. Kinda sad considering how optimistic he was in this video for the future of RE/100.
If only re100 kshatriya is a thing and not a coming soon poster for the re100 line
i hope Bandai will add that 'elbow rotation' to the HG, i don't mind if the elbow joint become longer
I wish you'd take a look at the RE 100 Dijeh. its definitely not as good as this but its arguably better than the GP04
The part that pisses me off about this kit is: there is _NO_ reason for this being an RE100, what with there being a perfectly usable MG frame! This just screams of no effort.
No effort? THEY MADE A WHOLE-ASS NEW KIT!!!!!
They would have to heavily modify that inner frame, and there aren't that many kits that can be made with the zaku 2 kai, unlike the nt-1 Alex which could be made into many kits.
This video is a little bit on the good side, as long as the kit itself is a little on the fantastic side.

Zaku - II Kai or you can called it Zaku Hamburger.
Love the idea of the kit but the dimension just look squished, the torso is not tall enough and the wasist too skinny. Plus a flat coat is mandatory to hide the toyish colors.
I'm sold looks like I just might pic this kit up
