- Only 3 more weeks till Derik can walk! This recovery has not been easy... especially because there's not a whole lot he can do right now to help take care of the kids... Thank you for all the kind words and support!

My dad had polio as an infant and walked on crutches his entire life. I do not know how he did it. He was a very patient man and the best dad on the planet.

I myself had Polio at three months old. I wore braces, crutches and wheelchair through my life. Now at last sixty I’m using brace, canes and walker. It’s normal for me. Take care 😊😊
My grandma was born with polio also

I am a polio survivor now dealing with post polio weakness syndrome. I’ve had three knee surgeries from injuries. Don’t do more than doctor allows! As to the other respondents, hope you have quality, pain-free days.

That is AWESOME! I would like to print that up and hang it on my wall. I am disabled and before then I was a weak minded person and bring bedridden for many months and only seeing the tops of trees, I had an awakening to my spirit for the better.
An Academy Award for this video! From the matching t-shirts and eyes during french toast breakfast, to the brothers combo shower with you giggling in the background...... I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! And Derik's blue toenail polish was the highlight! Thanks for cheering me up. Love you!

I can sooo relate. This brings back soooo many memories. My son, who is now 34. Used to sit on my husband's lap when he was able to use a wheel chair. My late husband was in construction and in 1989 fell off a scaffold 30 feet high. He has since passed away in February of 2023. Just keep a good attitude. You'll all have a healthy marriage. You'll get through it. Omg I can't get over how much Sunny looks like Derick. And Jack looks so much like Sarah. I can already see that Jack is gonna be very protective of little sis.😊👍🏻🙏

To help Derek out in between showers:
At Walmart or Walgreens etc there is bath wipes and waterless foaming shampoo that really works. Also there is a cover you can get for his leg to keep it dry during shower time.

I had triplets that were born three months early they had disabilities ranging from severe to mild,their father took his life when they were 2. I raised them on my own with little help,my son passed at 26 due to his disabilities,but the girls are 41 and I couldn’t be a prouder mother! PS I’am scheduled for knee replacement surgery in 3 weeks! I just want to say,you both are doing fantastic,your should be if your not an inspiration to all young parents!❤
You all are just so special! Hats off to you, Sarah! Wow! So much on your plate with caring for two kiddos, recovering Derik, building a house and the zillions of decisions you need to make for that, living with your parents, with so many perks with their love and help, but you’re not in your own space, all of the work and fun prepping for your brother’s wedding….accccck! Someday, you’ll look back and be amazed at how strong you were day in and day out! Derik, for as active a guy as you are, oh my, how difficult, boring and painful this recovery! Jack and Sunny, so adorable! Hope they’ll both start sleeping through the night SOON! Cara babies sleep training DOES work!

Him saying “you’re stinky” was so cute and probably reminds their mother of sweet moments between then when they were little! Tanner didn’t say it in an an embarrassing way, just an honest way with a little giggle, much like an honest little kid would do. This is really sweet and funny!!!

This video was so fun! I got to see inside of a mall for the first time in like 5 years, seeing the kids and hearing how much Jack's language skills are growing, and Derik and Tanner being sibling goals! Seriously, their bond is so wonderful.

You could try melatonin gummies for the kids. I have five kids, and believe me getting them all to zonk out near the same time and they help kids stay asleep, really helped with their moods, school, and my Dr said they are safe . And girl make sure you put vanilla in that French toast mix😅. Also, ik it was funny and silly but tanner helping Derrik in the shower is very heartwarming ❤❤❤❤
