Here in NC I use the wee crawfish a lot catch anything from bluegill to large mouth very good effective bait. Only a dumbass would call it weird or stupid
That little wee-crawfish bring back great memories. I was probably 8 years old... 30 years ago... I cast it to one end of the pond and then walked myself to the other side of the pond while letting out line. So it was just sitting there wiggling as I walked to the other side and a HUGE catfish sucked it up. So fun... never caught anything on it actually retrieving it haha.
😂😂 I have 7-8 of those crawdad lures in my bag. Have used them for years as one of my go to lures when nothing else is working. They use to make a larger version with bigger hooks but have not seen any in a long time. Thanks for the vids!

My old JV football coach turned the basement of a gas station into a fishing and bowhunting shop then the place burned down. Then when it got rebuilt he made it twice as big and it was the basement of the gas station. I have caught so many bass on the Rebel Crawfish.....

This time he had went through his collection and gave me every lure he had more than one of. I scored about 50 lures and a bunch were crazy unique rebel lures. Grasshoppers, cicadas, and craws.
Yet another banger! I used to dip the ends of a green pumpkin/blue flake lunker log in neon garlic dip and got bit on it almost every cast. Weightless lunker log of course
The rebel wee-crawfish is an absolute killer in small creeks been slaying small mouth with them for years and I loved the "happy accident" Bob Ross reference!
Really enjoying the old school videos. What about possibly a lizard vs doomsday turtle vs trench hawg video this spring. Be interesting to see which one can pull the biggest bass off bed.
You should do a video of you and badge diving and retrieving all the snagged lures. It'd be pretty cool to bring yalls back but also all those before you
I love seeing the gas station lure challenges. It reminds me of me and my dad going fishing we would always go to the dam store (literally it’s name) and get our drinks snacks and then hunt down some random lures that we’re normally overpriced but there was just something about going there and grabbing our (ok to break off) lures then tearing up crappie and hybrid bass. Keep it up!
Dude you're just rocking with the old school vibes. I hope you're loving it as much as we are. Were you by chance smacking those lures on the water to get grass off? Cause those rebels and Rapalas are both known to be a bit on the fragile side. I've done it myself a few times.
Comment to the podcast. My stone was a big one and it was stuck so they had to do that, But that string got caught on the wash cloth while showering, talk about a sensation omg. I ended up having to pull it out myself. Mine were calcium oxalate stones. Cut out nuts , spinach, and chocolate and havent had one since march 2021. So very very glad. I feel for you.
I live on Lake Jordan in Alabama and whenever water was really high I go and flip flooded bushes and trees and the one thing I realized is same thing for pond even though there might not be bushes or trees if you cast within 5 feet of the bank and just drag slowly or swim i tend to catch fish the same way just because I feel like it is new water for the bass same as a big lake just downsize to a pond
That rapala original is a staple in my tackle box. I won't go fishing without it. Especially in the spring. I've caught so many bass and big ones on that lure. I've caught plenty on that rebel crank as well. They make a red color that is killer.
Belive it or not regular plastics do not really soak up much of the gulp juice, it needs to be reapplied every couple of casts. I saw a video on you by a guy John skinner, he did an experiment on this stuff. The gulp worm type products held the juice for a long time, but regular plastics lost Sent within minutes.
Another cool video, love the challenges like this. All our gas stations up here are all Indian owned. Most have the eagle claw selections. Hooks. Sinkers, split shot and live bait, but wow that gas station has a bunch.
I would love to see a video of you and badge diving in the pond and seeing what the snag actually is...and maybe recovering the $1000 worth of lures you have broken off on it! lol
We have two that I think of in my area of MN One strictly fishing and bow hunting. Then one next to a lake with a 236 foot depth in a spot I'm some of you heard of called Green Lake. Has Mels next to it all fishing in hunting with a gun wall larger then the ammo compound I was aquanited with.
The Rapala original floating minnow in the gray color is my number one go to lure. If all else fails I've found i can always catch something on one of those.

You should live scope your pond and map the structure. You should get your diving/XCamera /Podcast partner to dive the pond and remove as many snagged baits, line,hooks, etc. Just a few thoughts
I clicked on this video as soon as I saw theRebel we craw I caught my personal best bass a few years ago back then it was 5 pounds (on the big one red and black )now it’s 10 but that date is savage and I don’t ever see anyone fish it it is so underrated it’s insane I love that beat every size and every color

My PB river Spotted Bass came on 4lb test on a Rebel Wee Craw in Firetiger.

Panther Martin spinners are great for pond fishing, but a spinning rod/reel combination is recommended.

those wee craws catch just about everything in Michigan from Bass to crappie to toothy pike.
