You should be a little adventurous and go fish the highlands dam in Columbus, GA. It's north of eufaula, and there's tons of catfish there as well. Or try the bank opposite of Woodruff Park, which is still on the Alabama side

Lojo come to Missouri I’ve caught some giant catfish off shad on the Mississippi River the biggest I’ve caught is 50 pounds but it’s also late snagging season for paddlefish let me know if you want to come to Missouri and I hook u with some area where i caught some big catfish

12:31 the best rule of thumb of how much line you should have out is half your rod length so if you’re throwing a 12 foot ride, you have 6 foot a line out bring the garage straight out behind you don’t let the bay touch the ground but then just whip it straight over your shoulder and try to release your bait and keep your ride in between a 45 and 35° angle and you should be able to put it close to 75 to 100 yards out easy3 ounces of weight and say 2 ounces of bait and if you are running like a 5 ounce sinker, you can still run an ounce of bait on each one still good for that rod

Logo take the 15 footer and just tie a 3 or 4oz sinker on.Go to the closet place you can practice and just cast that thing for 30 min or till the braid just starts cutting your finger up. Do that as often as possible. You will start to get more distance. That's what I did. Think of casting a surf rod like strength training. After awhile you will be able to start snapping that thing out.

Howdy everyone. Great to see another video. Lojo you need to look up long range casting tutorial you really need it out there. Spillways slope both direction out longer and to the center spillway you need to get past that wall in the center.

I grew up fishing the Snake River near Lewiston Idaho. Went every year to visit my Grandfather and Grandmother. We would take a trip upriver catching channel cat and yellow bellies. My brother still lives in that area.

The flood gates where open in the beginning lol but the turbines was not running meaning no power generating was happening. The flood gates are up high to open and keep the water from over flowing the top of the dam lol.
You need to take some live green sunfish or blullheads thete and fish for big flatheads but make sure you go at night

The biggest fish ive caught there was on the otherside of the river down where the wooden post stick up out the water and water was almost coming over that tall bank and running extremely hard. Caught more that day too.

Try and keep your right hand up further on the rod. It'll give you more leverage and control as well as take less effort. Squid is one of the most popular baits where I live. It catches just about anything and tends to hard to get off the hook.
