This is an excellent interview. Rabbi Shafier has addressed very key points and literally has hit the nail on the head regarding the gross misunderstanding of how relationships actually work. Not in theory, but in practice. This is really worthwhile to watch if you want to improve your relationship with your spouse.
I read the book THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES by Gary Chapman to determine what my wife’s primary love language is, then I started implementing her primary love language and the outcome was amazing. I was filling up her love tank and I always recommend this book.❤❤
@23:30 - it says in Shulchan Aruch that before yuntif, you have to buy the kids presents and the wives jewelry. In Kesubos, it lays out the responsibilities of the husband in onah.

Commitment, love, and learning to love together. Hollywood has it backwards; meaning, love is the glue once the marriage is established based on divine determination of said message. “That’s strange…” a good observation to open dialogue to understand the partners reaction/interaction (non-judgmental but just an observation)
Does there not exist some objective measure of proper / improper behavior such as consideration? It seems that there is a great emphasis on acquiescence based on the gender difference escape clause.
He is a rabbi, so there is a whole body of tradition he is working from that has high standards that would address that... however, it is wisdom to understand that if one wants to live happily with a woman, kindness and praise for what is done well needs to be the default, with gentleness the default in conflict. The rabbi knows the Proverbs and Song of Solomon, certainly... so that also would be covered.
This video should be mandatory viewing in chossen and Kallah classes!! Thanks so much for sharing ❤

"That's strange." (20:05) I'm definitely going to work on thinking that way instead of getting triggered and/or taking things personally. Thank you.

"that's strange" is one way. "yes dear!" also does it.
Cool fact that a lot of people don't know that the Lubavitcher would have tea with his wife every night!!!
It usually was sometime around 4am
Great episode!!!
The first item that should be addressed is to keep men intact to make the connection.

Excellent question which should have been addresses!

So what can people do before marriage to prepare?
In my opinion is working on thinking that the opinion with which you disagree can be also rational and it can be valid
Awesome
