I'm African American and my father took an ancestry test last year and found out he was 2% Ashkenazi jew. It's not a large percentage but it has sparked my interest in learning about Judaism.
In averege you might be the six mix generation from the first that was 100% jew.
Thank you Yaakov Langer and the Living L’Chaim Team! This interview was so much fun. You’re doing a great work! You should have Hatzlacha rabbah in all that you do!! Thank you for having us on!!
Good to see you guys here too. 😁The Harts take NY 🤝. Always looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say. Hatzlocha raba, safe travels & Good Shabbos 🌺. Thanks Reb Yakov for taking this wonderful opportunity.
@@sarahnewcomb7739 love the Newcombs! Thank you friends !! Love you guys
When are you guys finishing your conversion already?! Come Home to Israel when you do! Lots of colorful Jews here…
@houseoflev I love this interview!!! Also Ethopian Jews are quite interesting to read about, you can find out how Israel helped save Ethopian Jews on Jewith Unpacked and you get to learn about Jews of color on Jewish Unpacked
This couple is so wise, everything they said was so on point and inspiring. They really “get it,” more so than many FFBs like me! Much Hatzlachah!
A lovely couple! They’re obviously soulmates and have Jewish souls.
As an Israeli born, American raised Jew, I am so beyond happy to see these two make this very powerful decision to become a part of us. In certain Rabbinical schools of thought, it is said that Hashem sees those who want to convert, as more intensely Jewish than some who were simply born Jewish. The reason being, is because the aspect of free will. A person born into Judaism, is not challenged on their free will, on whether they want to understand how to get closer to Hashem. And due to the strict laws in Judaism about not interfering with someone’s free will, this is also the main reason why Judaism didn’t propagate as large as the other religions, because trying to “make” someone become Jewish, is a violation of their free will. For these two dualistic reasons between those born into Judaism, and those who haven’t, but cannot be influenced to convert, is why those who do choose by their own free will to want to covert, it is an intent that Hashem sees more intensely than those who were born into it, and were inducted simply because their parents instilled it in them. For a non-Jew who was never raised in Judaism, to want from their own heart to become Jewish? It’s absolutely tremendous. They have invoked their free will, to want to get closer to Hashem. I wish nothing but all the blessings to this beautiful family of 7, May they make one day Aliyah in Israel, and settle in a beautiful home right near the waters of the Sea of Galilee. I can see it! 🙏🏼🙏🏼✡️✡️🇮🇱🇮🇱
Thank you so very much for this kind message
You are to be congratulated for putting into words a beautifully crafted mini-essay on the who, what, when, where and why of this lovely couple and the journey they have embarked upon. The couple already radiates a Jewish soul...
Love you guys. A Rabbi once said that although Jews are often called the People of the Book, they might more accurately be named the People of the Question.
Perhaps do a series of convert interviews.
There are many garim and converts in the process with a YT presence.
This would be amazing
What do you mean they are not Jewish. Just because they don’t have their “Jew cards” yet, if they are already living, JEWISH lives, and on their way to the BEIT DIN, they are Jews, as soon as they are welcomed into the community by the BEIT DIN, they will be considered “real Jews”, but many of the people in our community have already accepted them, and in our eyes they are welcome. They don’t have to bring their great great great grandmothers Ketubah to the Beit Din, only their knowledge and their sincerity. May God keep you and bless you, and welcome you to our people, you will be making great changes in the future.
They want to be true Jews. They don’t want the fakery. They want what Hashem wants, and Hashem wants them to do what the Torah says. The Torah says they have to take the final step to become true Jews. They want Truth. And that is the Truth.
Awesome to see cultures cross like this. As a black man I have always been fascinated by Judaism its various sects and the Torah. Great content!!
This couple also LOOKS biracial Jewish..or Ethiopian
BTW, most modern blacks In hollywood ARE
Jasmine Guy, Lisa Bonet, Lenny Kravitz, Jussie Smollett, Tina & Tamera Mowry

You’re awesome. Thank you Jacob!!
You all are blessed to have each other on the same page!!!! There are so many couples that are not together in their Faith. You are Blessed Blessed Blessed
Beautiful couple, so inspiring!!
I would like to learn more about converting to judaism.
Start with kitzur shulchan aruch and moving within a mile of a Jewish community.
@@myopinions1 Talk to your local Orthodox Rabbi. Start asking questions and make sure you know what that commitment takes. It's a process and it takes time as well. We are proud to say we have geirim (Orthodox) converts in our family!
Please look into the 7 Noachide Laws, they are G-d's instructions for non-jews. Converting isn't encouraged and is often discouraged. The 7 laws are for non-jews.
Not to worship idols
Not to curse G-d
Not to commit murder.
Not to commit adultery or sexual immorality.
Not to steal.
Not to eat the flesh from a living animal.
To establish court of justice.
I have always felt a strong attraction to Judaism even though I am an athiest...I talked to a Rabbi who actually said...he'd be willing to work with that...
How you making out with that?
Watch rabbi yosef mizrachi proof of gd and that torah is divine. It will give you the clarity youre seeking!
@@beeyou4103 it's called "Torah and Science" by Rabbi Yosef Mizrahi. That documentary was so powerful. It gives such clarity and puts everything into perspective. My husband and i became Orthodox Jews this year following my conversion. He was already Jewish but did not grow up observant. We thank Gd every day we came to this path.
Watch "Torah and Science" by Rabbi Yosef Mizrahi. It helped me in my conversion process.

Our pleasure!
I love it - “24/6” 😂❤
Wonderful interview.
Much love from a Conservative Jew in Maryland ❤
I hope you two will take one of those DNA tests. There were many German, French and Ukrainian Jews before the Holocaust.
I am so happy that you share and opening your experience
I LOVE AND REALLY RESPECT ALL PEOPLE WHO BECOME JEWISH BY EDUCATION OF KNOWING JUDAISM AND BY CHOICE...
WELCOME HOME!!! ♥️
Thank you! Means so much
Such a great interview! Such a poised and educated couple! A breath of fresh air for those who are orthodox! We get to do the mitzvot! Not we have to do them! Love their perspective on many ideas!
Thanks for watching. Yes! They are incredible.
This was so inspirational, I love this couples perspective.
The fact that I am re watching this video.for the third time and they made it BH!
THEY ARE JEW NOW❤
What he said about the 613 mitzvos was so beautiful!!!
You guys are so so inspiring and motivating thank you so much for being so honest and emes. Hatslocho in your journey may hakakosh baruch hu bless you guys with lots of bracha! thank you
Thank you
613 opprtunities to connect, yes indeed! However these connections can only fully materialize in the holy land. Doing them outside of Israel is just a game. Raise your kids and make your home in Israel where the mitzvot really become a part of your lives.
I started my day here in the UK by once again listening to your wisdom. There were things you said that build upon the commonality of humankind, a singular message for Jews and non-Jews alike, for those who are believers and for those who are non-believers. B"H
Amazing episode! Love the house of Lev
Thx brother! Love ya back
Seeing their excitement and how they view the mitzvos as opportunities (as opposed to restrictions) is so refreshing and makes me realize how fortunate I am to be part of the amazing Jewish nation.
❤❤❤ 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Ive wondered if these sort of people exist, and now i get to see and understand what and why the converted to Orthodox Judaism.Fascinating and i had no idea it was possible or accepted.Just fascinating.I think its something i could persue but feel im being a fraud as im not Jewish.Really valuable information and interview
Would love to see Julia Haart and Daniella Hart in the same room. Haart can learn a lot from Hart.

Zechariah 12:10
Him Whom They Have Pierced
10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
What a great interview! Thank you for asking “real”, deep questions!!!! I really enjoyed this! ❤
I have a family friend who is kosher vegan and orthodox it can be done it's hard though but it can be done which is nice for those that want too.
Love you guys! This was amazing! Baruch HaShem 🙏❤️
Love your Instagram shorts 🫶
More of longer RUclips videos would be nice
We love you back Liel!!
You're such a beautiful couple. I'm in love with Judaism too. My ancestry is a Sephardic Jewish family. But I was never told when I was growing up. Actually in, 1975 I separated from my husband and was pregnant. I didn't know what to do. I cried to the Almighty God, I didn't know anything about Judaism, the Hebrew Name in Hebrew, nothing. After my prayer which was with a deep pain in my heart and soul. I asked what I should do. I asked for help and guidance. Well, HaShem Elochim Tzevaot answered me by bringing me in a dream vision to the Sanctuary in the desert and showing me his precious Name. 35 years later started reading Torah and found out the vision in the Hebrew Name was actually that He, blessed is HE, was calling for my return. I did and found out more about my ancestors. My grandparents were from Spain and following my research realized HaShem, blessed is HE, wanted me back. I love my God more and more everyday.
Great show! I hope you all get the support you need to continue with your journey.
Amein!
Thank you so much
Great interview with some great people.
Love you guys u guys are an inspiration 💗 ❤️ 💛
AWESOME!!!! My dream has been to meet a guy who will convert with me. Then I will have a Jewish home.
As a Christian I naturally disagree with Ben and yet am very attracted to listen to him speaking. May God bless your work
Sabbath is not just for the Jews, it is for everyone. God gave us sabbath at creation. I’m not Jewish , I’m a Christian but I observe the sabbath as a seventh day Adventist. Sabbath is the most beautiful thing. And I just don’t understand why Christianity decided to forget the 4 commandment , the one that begins with remember….
You are an amazing couple! I am learning from you. Thank you!!!
We are starting to convert...what things do the kiddos do on shabbat.. especially since they cannot electronics
Winning how? Their church did not allow questions but that doesn't mean all Christian churches are like that. I got to question and God reveals answers to our questions so never heard that before. Not giving up eternal life for an outward form of religion.
I loved this EPIC - was so inspirational and truly loving...it definitely changed me!
Amazing couple - thx for sharing your story, you guys will make our nation’s story more beautiful
שתהיה בהצלחה בכל הפרטים
Wow. These words touch our hearts. Thank you
awesome...just amazing hearts
The fire will not go out for you guys when you finally do the conversion because you are already Jewish with your thoughts and actions, your ways and your understandings of so many different aspects that you are learning . It’s not the other way around of I want to become a Jew ,and then that’s what will make me be a Jew and practice . On the contrary it is an I am already Jewish ,and just need to continue to follow all that I have been learning and practicing .It’s already your life and the meaning of life for you. …that is how it just comes through when I watch you and hear all the wise things that you both say and share. And when it finally happens for you as you mentioned, you’ll know that you did it all right,in the right time ,in the specific moment that Hashem has planned. It will not be a change for you , it will just validate your ongoing process of Jewish learning that you are already doing and sharing…Thank you so much Living L’Chaim ,for having this couple on your show. They are so amazing and so true in their beliefs.it’s heartwarming
Love it. Very inspiring
Terrific
this lovely couple got the essence of Judaism better than many FFB (frum from birth) and modern orthodox jews. No such thing as a " cardiac Jew" You need to DO mitzvot, to connect to Hashem
Love you guys!
You're amazing... Baruch HaShem!
Love to them god bless them❤
PLEASE READ THIS: The Biggest Influence in bring The Most People to more Yiddishkite, for me is The Rebbe. I was raised a in the Jewish Conservative Movement. Introduced to Chabad at about 18 years old. Became Orthodox because of Avram & Robin Greenspan of Long Beach, California because, for about 2 years, the kept inviting me to Shabbos Meals. Obviously, if it were not for The Lubovitcher Rebbe and his creating Chabad Houses and Satellite Should they would not have become Chabadnics themselves. Baruch Hashem!
MY ONLY NOTE FOR YOU: As Much Yiddish and Hebrew as I know (or as little) I understand Only HALF of the Yiddish/Hebrew... So, please, like most Rabbis do, PLEASE TRANSLATE EVERY Yiddish/Hebrew word that is said by you or your guests. Benefit for you? yaacov langer one of the best orthodox jewish interviewers so of couse an excellent interview. B"H. danielle and laderryl hart very eloguent. i wish
conservative and reform jews would hear them. non- jews too. their idea of having kanye west/yeh in dialogue with a knowledgable african- american
orthodox jew would be educational for west/ yeh and hopefully change his heart. it would take a ness-im. Hashem makes miracles. west/ yeh has approxiimately 15 million followers. imagine if west/yeh himself retracts his own message of hate. praying for that to happen. thank you yaccov,
danielle, laderryl. may HaShem bless you always.
Thank you so much
The acceptance from the Orthodox Jewish people that this can happen is overwhelming. We really should all be Orthodox Jews.Just Better people
Awesome story!
Wonderful Interview Everyone! ✡
😍
Great episode!!
Inspiring! Interesting that the Hart's wished to seek out "Jews of color". While the Jewish people can be found the world over, practicing myriad minhagim (and culturally influenced by their host countries, no doubt), it would have been valuable to pursue the reason they wished to connect with Jews of color.
i think it is obvious, there aren't many outside of Israel so it would be easier to relate to someone of the same ethnicity or "color" whose made the same journey - to start the journey
Need Nissim next!
Ruth! Re the question influencing or impacting converts
Amazing conversation. Thank you.
Needed inspiration
I am new to Judaism what type of bible do I need please someone help me ❤🥺
For me the most influence on me as a convert was the Rebbe.
I love your show, and I’m a subscriber, but some of your questions and comments concerning House of Lev was a little offensive. BUT OVERALL, I ENJOYED THIS SHOW❤❤
Love the Jewish people...prayers for Israel.. Australia...love the truths being taught...
Yes. I fell in love with Judaism for the same reasons this lovely couple did. Being able to connect to and honor God in all aspects of life. It has just been so daunting to try to do all of this living alone and having no support in it all. My depression had worsened a lot feeling so alone. How I wish I had a partner to live a committed Jewish life with. Very lonely and very hard.
Rabbi Tovia Singer
My fire went out when I found out I was alone with all of this. Even with a community I am alone unless I show up to synagogue.
Yisro
welcome 🎉as an Israeli, it's so funny to me to Hear American couple, American accent, people of color, saying "shabes" like an ashkenazi Jew from meaa shaa'rim.
The depth of TORAH will keep you busy for the remainder of your lives. It takes 7 years to complete the entire cycle of the entire books of the Torah. SEVEN YEARS.
Beautiful couple, however I had noticed new converts face lots of discrimination among Jews that were born from Jewish mothers and if the converts are not welcome in the community then it becomes hell for them, therefore they walk away from Judaism, even in Israel people there will not relate to converts or they will see converts as a second class Jewish. I wish that this channel make an episode about converts that had walked away from Judaism. 😢😢
That is why many people convert to Christianity or Islam because there arent that many "restrictions". The restrictions come from the Torah.
❤
If the children came before conversion are they Jewish, can you pls explain?
They have to choose at 13 for boys and 12 for girls.
Just believe? Believe what? Or whom? And why?
wow. I love shabbos! na nach
