      Nothing will top it... The Expanse maybe. BSG was even prophetic from future to past. Brilliantly made. It touches so many mysteries of our own birth of civilization and it has elements that are probably historically and accurately alien in nature, remembered in caves or Summerian tablets... there is something there...

      If I remember the story behind this right, it wasn't planned for her to play. But she was at the show, so they brought her on stage. It'd been years since she shot that episode of course, so Bear's kinda guiding her from the next octave down. Then she gets in to the groove and has fun with it.

      In the pilot episodes (the two parts of episode 0 if you want), there's sprinkles of the song said in various scenes. So this song is literally infused into the story. Funny part it's not Bear's doing. IMO it's somehow even better, he took the theme, made it his own and pushed this amazing musical set called BSG ost out.

I feel they started to stray from credible reality with the polygamous bed scenes in Caprica and the coed showers in the Plan, for example, but I would be curious to see how they would present SJW's alongside conservatives in the fleet, showing both passionate sides fighting it out. Transgenders would definitely be more convincing with Cylon technology, and perhaps it would amplify the perceived rightness or wrongness of what we're doing with that today. That slow build, the randomness that becomes a tune, that tune that becomes more and more certain, more alluring.. And then, when the orchestra joins in, the promise of... Everything.
    I especially love Katees facial expression, that almost childlike concentration..
    This was epicness, in the making, and will stand as a beacon for everyone...
    So say we all!

    One, if not THE best or at least in the top three best musically scored TV series. TV shows for the most part were all missing a crucial character found in movies.... music.
    Bear created a path for TV shows which was long overdue. BSG is beautifully scored.

    • @RustBunny
      @RustBunny 3 года назад +4

      Agreed. Some shows might have had a good opening or closing song, but the music took a back seat until Twin Peaks came along. I think Bear did for TV what John Williams did for movies and Nobuo Uematsu did for video games. Bear has done some great stuff since BSG and grown as a composer, but I think BSG is his most important work.

    ..The first "Battlestar Galactica Live" event, featuring the music composed by Bear McCreary for the series, took place on June 13, 2009, at the House of Blues in San Diego, California. This event coincided with San Diego Comic-Con and was a special concert performance showcasing the music from the acclaimed television series "Battlestar Galactica." I love this song and always cry through it, it's because I know that the song actually brings them to earth, it just makes me cry. I don't know what Starbuck was, I don't know what happened to the cylons, the ending was beautiful in an unsettling way. I wish there was a bow , but there's not . Pres Laura Roslin's death was so tragically sad, and beautiful... I try not to think about it too much because it'll make me cry. Like right now.
