Neil Young is The MAN. This performance was done in England in 1970. Neil is still active and just put out a new album last year, and it's really good. Neil also plays piano.
Great performance and I loved your reaction. Looking forward to your next reaction to Neil, and agree with the commenter who suggested "Old Man" from this same concert.
His album before Harvest, After The Goldrush is one of the greatest Albums in Rock History. Young will always be a Legend and important Artist in Rock History, from Buffalo Springfield to CSNY and of course to his great Solo career!
Love your reactions. Yes do Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Down by the River and or Cowgirl in the Sand & Everyone Knows this is Nowhere which is the name of the first Crazy Horse Album. Incredible
I love this intimate performance with just Neil & his guitar (harmonica). Neil is a very talented musician, singer & songwriter. He was with the groups Buffalo Springfield & Crosby, Stills & Nash in the later 60's. Also had his own group with Crazy Horse for a few years. Neil went solo & has had so many great songs over the years. The albums "After The Gold Rush" & "Harvest" from the 70's are considered 2 of his best.
That whole BBC concert footage is on RUclips last I checked. He pretty much sings the entire Harvest album. It's awesome. Another good clip from this performance is "Old Man".
So many great songs: Helpless, Ohio, Old Man, Cinnamon Girl, Like a Hurricane, After the Goldrush, Cowgirl in the sand, Down by the river, My my, hey hey, Rockin' in the free world and so on. All the five concerts I've been to are among the best I've seen. There's a very special feeling there, almost like going into a trance, when waves and waves of sound flow over the crowd, while he plays Old Black, his Les Paul, and Crazy Horse holds that simple but powerful rhythm.
Harvest was the first LP I bought as a teenager. I still remember it today. I walked past a record shop and heard Heart of Gold. I immediately bought the LP. Later I had my own band and we covered a lot of Neil Young. When I listen to the Harvest LP today, I think of hippie times long gone.
As mentioned below, "Old Man" from the same concert is great. Normally, I think "reactors" should do studio versions first, but this one is definitely acceptable. Great reaction.
Fantastic stuff ! .. This has been in my top handful of favourite songs ever, from the time I first remember hearing it .. And this live performance is a brilliant one which I've watched countless times .. Glad you loved it too, Dani .. Thanks for the great reaction !
This song was #1 on the charts and on radio, but Neil has always resisted that kind of "pop" success, so this was an exception in his long successful career. His fans know which are his big classic songs and they are played often on classic rock stations, but only this and "Old Man" are get Top 40 play.
At the same place he sung this song. Check out OLD MAN. Amazing. Lyrics are great. Also consider Eva Cassidy Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Live. Its amazing and you wont regret it. She made it her song.
THIS IS OVERRRRR 52 YEARS AGO NOW DANI 😊 IT'S ONE OF THOSE GREAT AWESOME 70-71 BBC CONCERT SHOWS, THERE'S SO MANY GREAT ONES 😊 JONI MITCHELL, ELTON JOHN, JAMES TAYLOR, CAROLE KING, CAT STEVENS, AND OF COURSE AN AWESOME ONE WITH THE CARPENTERS! SO NEIL'S LIKE ELTON AGE WISE DANI, HE'S LIKE 76 NOW, BOTH LEGENDS AND MUSICAL MASTERMINDS IN THE BUSINESS THEY WERE GIRL! 😊 ENJOYYYY THAT REALLLLL MUSIC
I loved Harvest, but I really like prefer this concert for the BBC in 1971, for Heart of gold, Old man, a Man needs a maid. The album's cuts were way over produced. If you saw Neil in his early concerts, this is what you got!
Neil Young plays a wonderful acoustic guitar as well as a poignant harmonica. I can envision him stopping people in their tracks as they were going to stroll past toward a busy street corner.
One of the greatest song writers You need to explore his catalog
Genius is a good way to describe Neil Young!

Helpless from The Last Waltz is priceless.

Helpless (1979 Dejavu Album with the band CSNY, which Neil was part of) - another beautiful song from Neil!!
Neil Young is a legend. Amazing talent. Just for recognizing his talent, I think I'll have to Subscribe and take a dive down on your channel.
I've always loved this song and think it's one of his best besides Cinnamon Girl. Thanks for reacting to this👍🎸🎸
A real artist.
The studio version was a classic but THIS live version was sooo good that I like it better. Great choice for a reaction!
Strong and tender/vulnerable. Just feel so much better for hearing it.
As mentioned below, "Old Man" from the same concert is great. Normally, I think "reactors" should do studio versions first, but this one is definitely acceptable. Great reaction.
It must be super hard to play the harmonica and the guitar at the same time. However Neil does it perfectly! The song is soo good
its not that hard to do but like everything else you know its him
Fantastic stuff ! .. This has been in my top handful of favourite songs ever, from the time I first remember hearing it .. And this live performance is a brilliant one which I've watched countless times .. Glad you loved it too, Dani .. Thanks for the great reaction !

This is from the album, Harvest released in the early 70"s. I feel the songs on this album are likely Neil Young's best work.
Try "Old Man" from the same session. You'll enjoy it I believe. I think of my dad everytime I hear it.
Good review. I would watch more NY.
this is the middle of a trilogy, first is needle and damage done, last is old man
😍❤🌹
