Hey Michelle, I was wondering if you will do a 2022 review Video from your perspective? It's always an Inspiration and nice to get to know you better, like talking to a friend :) But I can understand if you say you want some privacy, too ☺️💛
@muchelleb your eyelashes look so nice in this vlog do you upkeep extensions or lucky enough to just need mascara 😊
Wow, your explanation of how your brain/thoughts are like a social media algorithm is BRILLIANT
AGREED
I came here to say the exact same thing!
Came here to say this as well! This was a moment where it *clicked* for me. Well done Michelle!
It's my faveeee analogy, I'm so glad it was helpful!!
Loved that too!
Video starts at 0:00 that’s crazy. I’ve never seen that happen before
Really good video! I'm a first time visitor to your channel and as someone with ADHD I have a small suggestion if you're interested. I always benefit a lot from time cards inserted into the video. Being able to see how many sections there are helps retain information and focus and also makes it less likely for me to skip around or skip the video!
it's crazy how the habit loop thing is how I changed the way I eat without even knowing it! a few years ago I discovered some food restrictions like lactose intolerance, and at first it was really hard to let go of the immediate reward of eating the foods I shouldn't because they were tasty, but the more I did it, I realized the outcome of feeling physically bad for hours after just wasn't worth it, and nowadays it's so much easier for me to say no to tasty food because I don't want to feel sick afterwards. So I already have a confirmation that this works, I just have to apply to other negative habits ✨
How to change your life in one year: get severe depression. Everything got downhill and I lost most friends, about to lose my job, overthinking negative thoughts and worries, sleep got worse and many more specials that came with depression. And I’m already going to therapy/treatment. Which is about to end because of insurance and health system here. No matter how hard i try I obviously fail in getting better. So.. yes.. I guess life can easily be changed in one year. And things will probably get worse.. For everyone out there suffering from depression: it is so freaking hard and I hope you get out of this and feel better soon. And remember, that depression is not a lifestyle or choice. It’s an illness.
We are much happier, as it turns out, when we're focused on the task in front of us" *cries in adhd*
Personally I feel it’s been really helpful for me to challenge negative thoughts that I have. I’m sure it depends on the person if it works, and on how the thought is challenged, and on what the actual negative thought is, but as a person who has a bad habit of repressing any negativity the moment it occurs it has been extremely liberating to become aware of certain recurring negative thoughts and approach them with mindfulness, which has improved my mental health significantly. I think in some circumstances, the initial stage of awareness and challenging is necessary before it becomes a good idea to put them aside
Also imagining the negative thoughts in a funny voice or spoken by a ridiculous cartoonish character, silly things like that, can really help 🙌 it just makes the inner voice way less convincing 😅
This is exactly my line of thinking recently! I think sometimes you DO need to challenge a thought to be able to more easily let it go. *Some* thoughts for me really benefit from being challenged - like those super deep-rooted negative beliefs with evidence journaling. Most other negative thoughts are easier to "let go of" right off the bat and don't need to be scrutinised, and by not taking them seriously I take away any power they have. I think it's always good to have a few different tools to use when it comes to thought management. Everyone is different and should ideally trial a variety of thought management tools with different types of difficult thoughts to see what works for them best 💛
You uploaded at the best time! I literally asked myself how I could do this earlier, and here we are. :)
This is so perfect! I am looking forward to trying them in next year, thank you!❤️
Thank you for a relevant video! I am making plans and goals for 2023 and it's coming along nicely. Thanks again 👍☺️
I love the cognitive restructuring point of imagining the best and worst case scenarios and letting go of the attachment to either of them. I used to have strong anxiety before my uni classes but I started to ask myself "What's the worst that could happen?" and imagine honestly the worst and really obscure scenarios that were really unlikely to happen - i.e. "imagine if I shat myself". If the class went better than whatever scenario I imagined, I was pretty happy.
It took away a lot of the heaviness from my anxiety and made me realise that some shitty things (i.e. not having a friend in the class) wasn't the worst case scenario.
i love the way you structure your videos 🤩
I really love the idea of doing things as a curious scientist! That sounds like a lot of fun :)
Exactly what I needed, thank you dear!❤
Excited for the upcoming "preparing for 2023" content eeeek!!! I love the reset feeling and fresh start and I've always enjoyed preparing the coming year with your content.
I WAS LITERALLY WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO AND YOU DELIVERED❤️❤️❤️
Perfect timing!😘💖
Hi Michelle! Always love your videos. You’re one of the only productivity content creators I feel like are down to earth and actually do research on the topics you talk about! I have a question for you, would you be open to do another notion tour if you are still using it? If you dont, what is your current system? Just miss your notion contents!
You look lovely! Thanks for the great advice I am getting excited about planning and executing my plan documenting my journey and seeing awesome results in 2023! I get so bothered worrying about anything and everything that I will for sure be trying to spend more time realizing the current moment. Much love from NY
I’m here every year for the NY reset content 😍😍😍
I love Blinkist! And your videos! Thank you 🙌🏽
That top is so pretty and flattering on you!! You look really pretty in that. Especially with the necklace too. Very complimentary.
Thank you! This was just beautiful.
Your analogy of the mind as an algorithm is a game changer for OCD and intrusive thoughts!!!
Wow thank you for this ❤
I just get happy when you upload a video 🥺😍
Hi Muchelle☀I have been watching your videos for years now! I rarely comment on videos but I want you to know that you are a HUGE inspiration to me 🌸💛 I struggle daily with OCD, SAD, GAD, and overall being EXTREMELY perfectionistic. Your content and your methods have helped me SO MUCH! You have helped me discover methods and ways to feel in control of my life. Also, I absolutely love the way you carry yourself and the way you present your methods with examples, experiences and acceptance. Keep up the good work!! 💖 Cognitive restructuring sounds like an amazing tool for SAD by the way, I will definitely try that
Present moment thing sounds great except for when in at the dentist lol I would much rather not be focused in that moment or I will have a panic attack.
This video was so helpful!
This is one of the most valuable and practical self-improvement videos I have watched on RUclips and I have watched A LOT! The evidence journalling exercise really resonated with me and that is definitely one I will be trying out within the week. I love all of these tips because they are so easy to implement into everyday life but I know they could have such a profoundly positive impact on my life. I'm so excited to give these a try!
Great ideas!
Thanks so much for your videos Michelle! The most actionable and practical advice on RUclips I have come across. Very helpful in my creative business, as a mom, and a woman trying to make the most of life! 😊 ❤️
This video was incredible- thank you!
Love this💞
love it! x
MuchelleB back in time to save my life path
wow this is rly good, thank you!
Hey Muchelle I have been watching your videos for many years and this video is super helpful. I think it's maybe some of the best advice you've given. I have started a wellness youtube channel as well and you've inspired me to keep going and believe in myself
That's a high compliment thank you! Thank YOU for taking the time to leave this comment. 💛
Great video as usual...I just realized I hadn't subscribed after seeing a few of your vids over the past few months... which have all been so well done. Keep up the great work!
"The best way to predict the future is to create it" - Peter Drucker
I love the comparison of negative thoughts to our TikTok fyp! suddenly that makes so much sense haha!
I really relate to the mental habit loop piece with tiktok... my exact feeling!
Great time of year to be talking about this. Thanks for this inspirational video!
I really like this video
Can we talk about the diversity in your stock footage 🙌 Love it! These things matter!
@Trinity M So true, thank you Trinity!
So nice but super speed. :)
It's very interesting and it's very inspiring
The Beat video I’ve seen in 2023 ❤
I really liked this, thanks! One thing, please be mindful (😉) of the background music, it was loud in this video. Thanks !
I have never been this early. I'm stoked, always great to learn new perspectives and ideas and see if you could use and implement them for yourself, on this journey we call life.
ETA: Just some constructive feedback from an ADHD brain viewer, when using headphones, the music is pretty loud and distracting, it's really hard to focus on what you are saying.
Yes on the music, and not restricted to headphones or ADHD. I could really do without background music in these types of videos.
@@aslaughogna I don't mind music, but this just seemed to loud and it felt like the beat was competing with the speaking. Maybe something a little more laid back and softer.
I second this. I think it’s just a wee bit loud and kind of drowns her out. I’m on my iPad, no headphones.
I think something went funky with the recording! Am going to make sure to fix this soon.
@@muchelleb amazing. I already watched yesterday's upload and it was much better. Gonna spoil myself later with your latest upload.
Love your videos muchelle. They stopped popping up on my feed and it was instead filled with political reactions and other stuff I really don't want to be consuming too much of. Your videos always make me feel hopeful and centered
Loved the video but found the music in the background was a little annoying
I will map out putting these into practice. One I've started doing - it is written to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. I have been doing this the past month and it is really helping.
I encourage you on your faith journey, fellow sister or brother! This is a great idea
You would be such a good cbt therapist 😅
What exercise video are you watching when your doing weights? What ones do you often watch? I’ve had a hard time finding good ones
Hi new subscribers here
How about doing 2 things at the same time like listening to music while cleaning the house or watching Netflix while eating? Can you please make a video about that ?
@albertloganbruh you’re not muchelleb
Firsttt ❤️✨🦋
This was extremely helpful however I have a question that anyone can answer. Focusing on what I am doing is something I struggle with. I find myself drifting off to my own fantasy world all the time even when writing this comment. How could I break the habit so I can completely focus on the certain subject?
Feeling like I haven’t fully understood the point with journaling.
So you write why you haven’t achieved the goals and then write the quality or habit that prevented you from achieving the goal in a separate journal and then look for examples in your behavior and environmental saying that you can achieve your goals having that quality ?
Does anyone know what she does for a living? Is she studying or working?
First ❤🎉
Interesting ideas… but very distracting music in the background made me stop listening altogether.
Music is annoying
Been watching for 4 yrs and I can say Harper (HBH) looks so much like you 😮🥹
