    BP - I totally dig your bike brotha and ur seat really really sets it off for me!! My grandmother was raised on the Cherokee res in eastern TN and anytime I see a bike that has Native American art work into a bike build/project- I tend to gravitate and love those type of motorcycles. Great work brother and stay on the path you now walk!

    here's a tip,

      NOT, that your build was bad. Its easy to see that its well taken care of! But i love that 70% of builds are different. But my point of sticking my neck out and saying that its not my cup of tea was in fact to point out that when i say i dig the seat, i dig the seat ;)

      Thanks, it's a journey for sure, but the best part about it is that it's you, anyone can go buy a bike from any dealership and pull up to someone who "might" have a different color, but a bobber is 100% you on two wheels, and no one can buy that....good luck, rubber side down brother!!

      Moose Man- hey hanks for the comment, I have a few other videos on how to install those tanks however I can't promise the same results on a 1100 (nice bike btw) I'm not to familiar with the 1100 frame set up to much, most of my work is done in 750's and 600's. I would check out my other video on the tank installations on the 750 and 600 and see what solution might be best for your frame set up first. Maybe you might have to use a combination of both setups?? Good luck with it man, rubber side down brother, and hanks for he comment;)

  • @gsh319
    @gsh319 7 лет назад

    Absolutely mint build. The seat alone is top shelf stuff. I'm interested in the acids wash treated fuel tank on the other bike in your garage. Could you point me in the right direction for that process. You do great work. Show quality indeed man

    • @bannanapancake
      @bannanapancake  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks so much Scott...appreciated! the tank is a wash from a product called "Blacken it" (eBay/Amazon) you can paint it on with a normal paint brush and one bottle usually does the trick. you'll have to make sure the tank is clean and free from oil, then I would take a really light grit sand paper, as light as you can find and sand it down (you don't have to, but I'd recommend it). after that, I would clean the tank with a simple dawn dish soap and let dry. take the "Blacken it" and paint on, now it works fast, so you'll have to work it around as fast as its setting. The longer you leave it on the darker it gets, if it gets too dark you can always take some of that same sand paper and scrub it down and reapply. I would honestly try it on a piece of regular steel first to see how it works, then sand it down to see how removes, this way you'll get a feel for it before you apply it to your tank. It doesn't work on some metals like aluminum so I would do your research first before you buy (some guys have aluminum tanks) it will, however, work on most and those pandemonium tanks. hope this helps and have a great day!

      The tank that you bought brand new did you have to seal it inside ? I have a project going on right now on my shadow spirit and I already bought a new gas tank the same one on pandemonium tank new steel tank, and I'm worried about inside of it .I was searching on line regarding sealing the tank and 80% of the People says seal it. How'd you do it and what kind of chemical did you used? And regarding your cylinder where did you place your battery? Coz you didn't mention on this video if you place it inside the cylinder only the wiring and the fuse and everything. Thank you and Mahalo.

    Looks good. The tank looks good.
    Though the springers take away a lot of the sleek look. Maybe take those off and replace them with struts. Just an idea.
    If you're going with sleek, use the VT600 softtail.
    The paint job looks absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work.

    • @bannanapancake
      @bannanapancake  7 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment, I agree those 600's are pretty tasteful when it comes to sleek and a petiteness factor, when I got this 750, it was almost buried in the ground. I had to retap almost every major hole in the bike and it seemed there was a problem around every corner I got a screaming deal on it though so I couldn't pass it up. It had some hard struts on it when I got it, the way they were put together I'm surprised no one killed themselves, I did a lot of years doing concrete and packing drywall, didn't care a lot for the hardtails (guess im not hardcore!!) so I went back to springers....painting the bike was the funnest part about it for me(at least on this one) Thanks for your view and insight!

    Now what I'm about to say is not meant to be mean or disrespectful, but I'm gonna say it in the same way you stated it about the tank. I agree with the gas tank. The stocker has to go.
    The one thing that drives me bat shit crazy is when people Bob a bike and use a solo spring seat kit (BTW LOVE THE SEAT..lol) AND ALSO USE SHOCKS.. Spring solos are meant to be used on a hard tail. (.) But hey that's me. Not trying to judge...lol
    I have videos of mine on here too if you wanna check them out so you can critique me too..lol I have about 2-4 videos. I made my own seat pan and covered it (its shown in the videos from this year) but it doesn't look as bad ass as yours.

    • @bannanapancake

      Truly humbled, thank you! its not for everyone thats for sure. We used a Metal Aging Solution for that tank, there's a lot of manufactures out there that make the stuff, the trick is to watch it carefully as it gets older by the literal minute> Id take a test piece of steel and play around with it first and get to see how it reacts to that before you go with the tank right? you can however, take some light grit sand paper with water and sand the harshness out if it gets away from you, then yes, Clear coat. hope that helps some.

      FamousByFriday - I actually found it after I saw this message in the spam folder, sorry man, google wouldn't send a reply either. I appreciate the kind words brother. I do so many different things (seriously) most of them aren't depicted on this channel. I'm sort of a "jack of all trades a master of none" I tell people not to worry about subbing (and I actually mean it) for a few reasons; 1. Not trying to get rich. 2; I'd hate for people to get videos from me they have no interest in (feel like I'm bothering people, and I'm respecter of people's interest's and privacy) so I'm going to have to start another channel or something!!!! Some people like motorcycles, but not everyone likes bows, trains, cycling, RC, history, music and what ever else, probably shouldn't worry about it, but I saw a lady up in Alaska doing other video after video on random stuff, and it was weird to me... I was thinking in my head is here a theme to your channel? Ida know, trying to figure out how to handle this channel in he future. Hope that helps some;) have a good Christmas!

    love the copper tone and the blacked out cylinders with silver fins. Nice that you personalised that seat with your native heritage. And ... you're running dual carbs! I'm bobbing a 600 Shadow with dual carbs. Most of the forums are all American and they typically only have the single carb version. I'm hoping that a rejet will be enough to prevent flat spots - did you have to do anything tricky?

    • @bannanapancake
      @bannanapancake  7 лет назад +1

      Luvin Itall - thanks man, these jet kits are a plug and play kind of thing, depending on the year, they may or may not have one for that carb set up (DNYO-JET) if I remember, I checked them for a 94 600cc shadow, and they didn't seem to have one, but you can always get jets from JETSRUS and step up the sizes for what your needing and tune it from there. We didn't have any problem with these kits, pretty simple just dialing them in takes a few minutes, after that good to go:) hope that helps:)

    I'm so glad to find a good looking 750. Most bikes I see on RUclips that are bobbed have been 600. But I really like that Pandemoniac tank, I think that's what it's called. I hate the stock tank that comes with the 750s and have been looking for a slimmer alternative. I really like the ones TJ has but they are a pretty penny. I was wonder if you can give me some more info on that tank and also was curious on what you did with the air box and the 2 smaller air filters you got.

    • @bannanapancake
      @bannanapancake  8 лет назад

      Thaks for the comment, check back in a few hours I'm in the process of uploading some "how to's" on tanks for both the 600vlx and 750 spirit, I'm just trying to give people some better options for these bikes. As far as the stock air box...complety gone for the most part, I used a small portion of the intake hoses from the carburetor side to give me the 90 degree angle and then overlayed them with some steel corrugated hoses off of a semi truck to lengthen them to the airbox side. I attached the air filter pods just by sliding them over the steel hoses and clamping them down. you could use a size smaller piece of PVC pipe to connect hose to air pods as well if you need to (best to slide the air filters over the hose/something or whatever you use as not to restrict the air flow right?) hope this helps!! Thanks for your comment!

    Sorry if I missed it, but has anyone asked about the pipes? Are they the original pipes modified? And I didn't see a speedo. Did you relocate an aftermarket one? If not, what are your suggestions for an aftermarket speedometer? Can't tell you how much of a life saver your videos are. matthew weller -I don't worry much about the mileage, if I needed to I'm sure there's an app that could tell me everything I needed, as far as mileage and oil changes? You can tell when oil starts to lose its natural color or its sat a long time, might be good to change it out..

    Dude, that bike is sick assed, awesome! Is that copper plating on the engine? I have a 95 Suzuki Intruder and have been thinking about doing some copper planting on it. Any info would be appreciated.

      Hey, that plating is actually a high heat automotive paint on the covers. It's held up really well. hope that helped some

    I'd not buy harley if it had this peanut tank that is iconic yes but waaaay too small and loosing a bit of fuel on a tank that gives 80 miles range would make me driving from one petrol station to another one....fuel is not something I'd want to worry about..for me the bigger the bette.

      Yepper. A bigger tank takes you farther. That seat is really ugly and the bike with short fenders would look better.

    Hello
    I installed one of those ice cream maker what you have , diameter approx. is 5 inches , so I could fit my old battery. I went to the store and got smaller one that would fit, but now that battery is dying all the times. My stater and rectifier are in working condition. It only started after I got a smaller lead-acid battery in order to fit ice cream maker.
    Did you put some kind of lithium battery like Antigravity 8 cell. I think this should fit for sure .
    I have Yamaha vstar 650.
    Thank you for the help.

      Gotcha, I'm not running a micro-battery, I have a normal motorcycle battery that sits up underneath the frame by the back wheel. I don't know if I would put the battery in that tin casing unless you could guarantee the points wouldn't cross each other with the tin being so close...even rubber caps might be a bit sketch. The heat that could build up in there might not be the best for it either. Might wanna check your key switch, kill switch, and possibly your starter relay. make sure all of those are free from corrosion and are showing good polarity. hope this helps some.
