Came from the later episodes, and man, I find this series worth watching from start to finish. Can't wait to see more episodes in the coming weeks, sir.
Hey, excellent videos - I started with the honey comb and came back to see all of them. QQ: In the 3rd board I take it you are glueing the end grain. Will that join not fail over time? Thanks
Ankur, that was my first thought. Every bit of woodworking knowledge I’ve gained throughout my life and every professional I’ve listened to will say the same thing, and even prove it. Glueing end grain to any other grain, especially end grain to end grain, is a weak joint. I wouldn’t trust that joint for anything that might have pressure applied, such as a table.
@@choprpilot76 Go check out the video called "Glue Myths: 1. End grain" by patrick sullivan, end-grain to end grain joints are stronger than edge-to-edge on his experiments. It's really interesting to see. End-to-end can looks weaker because it breaks on the glue joint, but edge-to-edge breaks before the glue joint because the wood isn't as strong as the glue in that direction.
Yes, I have seen that & it gave me more confidence that it should be ok specially when the join is not narrow & almost 12” in our case. I would try it and keep the board for myself probably not sell it or gift it though unless I have had it for a couple of years.
How do you get a enexpensive router juice grove staberizer; to use on the cutting board you make. I am doing woodworking as a hobbie now that I have retired. I am at he beginning stages.
Two videos back I announced that I was stepping back from cubes :) I feel like I've done it all and it's not as enjoyable as it used to be. I like woodworking and I'm going to try and do it full time, and that includes the RUclips channel :)
People really love watching wooden planks getting glued to each other and forming a board. Was an entertaining video :)
Love the idea of this series! I'm looking forward to learning lots!
Very nice beginning to woodworking basics! Good job!
You talk faster than I can listen ! That aside, I learned something and subscribed to your site for the follow-up !
Beautiful so far! Can't wait for the rest.
You have no idea how many steps I want to skip just to get to the good part ;)

Very good and informative video!
Very nice presentation.
If you put your purple heart in the oven at 350F for about an hour prior to finishing or glueing (obviously) it will make it very purple in color
Hâte de voir la suite

Shouldn't be a problem since it's an end-grain-to-end-grain glue up :)

I love the "0" level :D
how do you glue up the angle pieces without them moving
To be fair, the single species no cut board that you said doesn't count has netted me my highest sales. Just make sure there's a live edge
Very nice
3:40 what does the mayonnaise do for the board?
I was wondering how I was subbed to you, it was from the cubes you did before... But these are beautiful.
No way! Didn't expect to see the All Rounder here!
Anyone know where I found the two layer cutting board with the slide out lower board design that I've made many times over the last 20 years.
Can you glue end grain to end grain?
Usually not recommend because it’ll be a weak join. I would want biscuits or dowels inside the board to make it stronger, but just my humble opinion.

Do you not put rubber feet on these?

Tamar 3x3 has a great one. Kings Fine woodworking has another great one. This is the one I use.
There is no link to access your website, you should put it in the description 🙂

What kind of oil did you use? It didn’t look like mineral oil.
I use linseed oil generally on my cutting boards, I like the end result and it lasts quite a long time
Where's the cubes man? This ain't a cube.

It's a cube from the right perspective
