well done. as a manufacturing engineer for an RV mfr. , I am retired, you won't get the quality you put into this build. That is not to say you can't get this quality in a conventional RV, I am just saying the amount of money you would spend would be many times more than your build. Hats off to your build.
We toured MANY professionally converted coaches, RV's, etc for ideas. You cant deny having 20-30-40+ years of experience. We took notes of their use of space, how wiring and plumbing was done, etc. You learn from the best in the business and implement into ours.
Your bus is beautiful. The finishes are so nice I almost didn’t even notice the little bits you still said need to be done. Very professional looking and definitely doesn’t look like most diy projects.
Best layout yet!! I like what you have done especially the bunk beds that is removable makes it work for what I have in mind. Well done, stole that idea! Thanks
Great job my man, I’m totally inspired, just bought my coach bus can’t wait to start building, if you ever passing through Atlanta Georgia and need somewhere to park for a night or two hit me up
the windows do let an extraordinary amount of heat in. In my prevost...I put 3/8 thick windshield shades on the front windshield and bus windows that the sun hits...reduced the heat significantly!. ordered the 50ft roll from Amazon and custom cut. that along with the blinds worked pretty good....currently camping in New orleans. I have awnings but blahhh. Your build is amazing!!!! Best I've seen on youtube...you're a true artist!!!
Another good episode. Probably like a few of your subscribers I have watched from episode 1 and I am impressed by how it has all turned out. You both have done a great job. Something to be really proud off. Looking forward to seeing all your adventures. Billy.
Great tour of your outstanding interior !! I love the light and airy feel of the interior and the color choices were perfect. You have a well thought out bus and your craftsmanship is excellent. I would opt for a couch up front and a set of bunk beds and use the other side for storage closets. As there was no video of the exterior on this video, I would guess you have a generator ?
We do have a powertech diesel 8kw generator. But the plan is to remove it and replace with a very large battery bank and do full solar on the roof, 4kw. We have only used our generator once and prefer to stay at campgrounds with hookups.
It is a nice bus build with plenty of room. If it was mine, I would want windows that open for each bunk bed, partly for circulation in milder weather but also as escape hatches in the event of an emergency.
Love how functional and stylish your bus is ! Corning or 3M (somebody like that) makes a ceramic clear, colourless window film that blocks 90% of the solar gain The tinted window film is for privacy but does nothing for UV which really surprised me I saw it at an automotive glass place where the tech was walking a customer through the differences in the window films
Aloha! We are converting a 1994 MCI 102-DL3 on the Big Island of Hawaii. No need for heavy insulation, but we require a lot of airflow. We need to keep our windows free to be opened and closed easily. We're interested in how you made those latches for your windows! Thanks you!
You guys did a great job on your build. I had thought about going the same route but decided to just go for it and purchased a 2 year old , one owner 40 Discovery. Its a 2003 39S. What I did do was looked at a PREVOST , A brand new one . It had been stolen and every thing removed . $66,000.00 basically a shell.
a yr later...came across this as was viewing those who live full time in bus or van or whatever they build out. dream someday though not sure when or how, disability on like stationary with no wheals. is this for living in, though maybe that is now what you are doing. if are, has there been any changes, either just because or something else works better.
Oh, wow! Impressed that you have an automatic dishwasher in your bus. Question. Where is your emergency window exit? Which window serves as an emergency exit???
There is storage under their beds but we aren’t finished with it yet. In the meantime we each have a shelf in the master closet which is sufficient for our family.
@@RVthatBus OK kool. Well I love your bus. Your bathroom is so spacious - love it. Well enjoy life on the bus. I've been thinking about doing that and just traveling . I had 3 consecutive strokes in 2016. So I really want to see this beautiful world.
Congratulations 🎉👏 This is one of a kind motorhome. Such quality and details. Love almost everything. Just the walk-through open bathroom is kinda akward. If there was walls at least covering the toilet area would be perfect.
Thanks so much! We have progressive but have heard many others have had their policies cancelled. We provided pictures of the full exterior, interior, electrical, plumping, safety equipment, etc. and actually has our policy reinstated and haven’t had any issues since.
The bunk bed bedding is from Target - Twin Textured Stripe Quilt Railroad Gray - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia. The duvet in the back bedroom is from home goods - I’ll have to check on that one later this week.
@@RVthatBus 1.5 years isn't bad, keep chugging at it. The end will finally come and then you will want to do a 2nd. We took almost a full year to do ours and we are faster than the average person.
We used r17 fiberglass insulation on exterior walls where space allowed. We chose to leave the original bus insulation between frame as it is probably flame retardant. We have 1/2" furring strip thermal brakes, with 1/2" foam board insulation on side walls and ceiling. On interior walls we used thermafiber insulation for both sound and having firebreaks between zones. Even though the walls themselves are framed in wood, the firebreak and solid pocket doors could give extra time in the event of a fire. HOWEVER... if I get the chance to build bus #2... I would probably strip all stock insulation, do furing strips, but do a complete closed cell spray insulation.
if they used a two A/C units it would be easier to cool the RV they are over working that one unit. talk about the mistakes made while converting a bus into an RV
You really didn't have your kids in mind at all in this build huh..? No color in "their room", not one space to call their own and express themselves, no cubbies or little shelves by their beds for their little things, and no windows to look out.. 😔
If you were to ask our kids they would tell you they like the space. They have sheets and pillows that express their interest and we bring tubs with toys on trips. We don’t live in the bus and clearly we took the video when it was clean so you wouldn’t see the mess. The whole reason we have the bus is to make memories with our kids. As for the windows, that bunk room is for sleeping anyway and we spend most of our time outside.
I was thinking each kid should have a top bunk. Then use the space beneath one bunk as storage with cubbies. And the other side empty so they can have room to play indoors on rainy days. Also the living room layout stresses me out. There's a reason rv's have special furniture because normal furniture is too big especially when you don't have slides. But that's just me.
Wow I love ❤️ your bus I wish I had this bus for my family I got 4 kids and this is amazing I wanna build something like this and travel with my family

Wow, this is super impressive. I converted an '89 MCI 96A3 and thought it was pretty decent...until I saw this! I am so impressed.
If you ever get up to Southeast Idaho be sure and let me know. Would love to see your bus!

Totally RV'd that bus!! 💞 Inspiration to continue my build.🤞

Very nice Bus. Is your Sofa able to recline all the way, Fully extend? If so that is Awesome! :)
Thank you very much! It reclines but doesn’t go flat but would have required going off the wall another 2” which we didn’t want to sacrifice.

great, but The shower could be made between the bedrooms, that not to interfere for walking
Nice job .
Love your home
Thank you very much!
Oh, wow! Impressed that you have an automatic dishwasher in your bus. Question. Where is your emergency window exit? Which window serves as an emergency exit???
Any window you see minus the windshields can be opened in the case of an emergency. They're still 100% functional.
Super nice
Where does the children keep their clothes 🤔? Other wise, your bus is gorgeous. Love how yiu did the bathroom - very roomy.

Wow,very impressive living on a bus as a RV
Hey guys, Love your videos. Its helped me with my conversion. What did you do for insurance. Do you have a recommendation, thanks Steve
Thanks so much! We have progressive but have heard many others have had their policies cancelled. We provided pictures of the full exterior, interior, electrical, plumping, safety equipment, etc. and actually has our policy reinstated and haven’t had any issues since.
This is 90% of what we want!
It's a very beautiful bus/design. Just confused with the living room TV placement vs the couch.
What brand is your bedding?❤
The bunk bed bedding is from Target - Twin Textured Stripe Quilt Railroad Gray - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia. The duvet in the back bedroom is from home goods - I’ll have to check on that one later this week.
How did you secure the fridge/freezer to be secure?
It's been 1 and a half years now, when you guys think you will be done with the bus? Making good progress so far.
I don’t think we will ever be “done” with the bus - it’s like a house, always work to be done. Only 1.5 years? Dang we are killing it! 😀

what size generator did you get? Propane ? thanks Steve
We no longer have a generator but we had an 8KW.

Curious to what insulation you have used?

But hopefully there's a lock on the master bedroom door for intimate moments!
No solar?
Not yet!
