Mandalorian weapons are so versatile and powerful that writers often seem to corner themselves into facing questions like these by indulging in a moment when a weapon's capability is shown for some dramatic surprise. At least several moments in combat would've been quickly ended by actually using Sabine's weapons to their proper advantage.
Heck, even Sabine's jetpack would come in handy when they were trying to board the Chimaera. It'd be like: oh no, Ahsoka is in trouble, better scoop her outta there and join Ezra on that Star Destroyer. 😂😂😂
The fights in the show feel choreographed. They don't feel like people trying to murder each other. There's no urgency, there's no weight, there's no intensity. Here everything feels slow.

Oh yes, by the power of the Power Ranger scooter team. *So embarrassing and bad,* don't forget the guy doing his spinning technique with his blaster in the Book of Boba Fett, another scene where its so stupid and bad. Or where the woman bonk something at a stormtrooper helmet in Obi-Wan Kenobi..... yeah that was bad.
The scene felt extremely awkward; it literally had me cringing. It made me think of three cheerleaders performing their routine, only to realize at the last moment that they had each practiced a different set of moves.
Was she playing Beat Saber or did she forget that she: -Fought through the entire Clone Wars -Was trained by Anakin -Bested Darth Maul -Survived Order 66 -Set the foundation of the entire Rebellion -and fought Vader and lived to tell the tale?
I didn’t hate this scene as much, but the only thing that bothered me was the Night troopers, not being chopped in half or at least a decapitation or 2 A little disappointing
Yeah for some reason lightsabers in Disney don't act like lightsabers unless plot needs to happen. They act like bats instead. In Kenobi it's really stupid when he is basically giving the storm troopers in Leia's holding room 2 quick taps not even leaving burn marks. And then here with the night troopers it was also just...it's just not great, it'd be so good if they had things work how lightsabers are supposed to but yeah...
I agree I barley saw any cuts to the armor that looked fatal. If Cal Kestis attended, there would be no survivors cause he would've thrusted his saber into every chest he saw.
I think Rosario has potential. That fight was honestly one of her best. I think it has something to do with her “hair” tails which is y it makes it difficult but I’m sure they could have thought of something.
Part of me feels like if Ahsoka was an animated series instead it would have been the most bad ass thing ever, but they failed to capture lightning in a bottle bringing these characters to live action. The show has its moments, but it falls behind its predecessors
@@StrykeSZN Remember Ahsoka vs Maul? Remember Ahsoka’s utterly bad ass decapitation of that dude in Tales of the Jedi? We could have been getting hype **** like that every week!
@@TonyStark-zt5feIs she actually wide? Or were most TCW characters shown to be very narrow and lanky? It’s a similar matter to how Count Dooku’s head looks in that show compared to live action.
@mudkipzuzu Yeah you could be right that due to TCW’s animation style she could’ve looked slimmer than intended. And tbf the actress they cast for young ahsoka didn’t look entirely like TCW Ahsoka, so you could be right
@@TonyStark-zt5fe Yeah it’s interesting because while I think Rosario Dawson looks more like Ahsoka face-wise than the actress for young Ahsoka, that actress’s body is more similar to animated Ahsoka than Rosario’s body is.
I never understood how you can have a room full of armed troops against three people, only one with blasters, and the troopers take turns shooting at them so as not to give the good guys too much to block. Why don't all the Stormtroopers just open fire at once and obliterate them? It worked in the Clone Wars against Aayla Secura and other top-tier Jedi. Why wouldn't the Stormtroopers follow the same plan? After all, their leader is the most decorated combat strategist in the Galactic Empire.
These stormtroopers are not trained in the art of killing Jedi like the clones were Clones were made to be ready to kill Jedi Not only this but not every Jedi is good at blocking blaster bolts Different Jedi is saber forms are better or worse at blocking blasts And multiple Jedi didn't even. Have time to know what was happening Aayla secura was shot in the back Plo koon was blown out of the sky Ki adi Mundi was confused as to why his buds suddenly just started shooting at him and he was having to worry with droids possibly attacking him from behind him That one Jedi got blown up on a speeder bike And you want to criticize this but this is a problem in all of star wars So many scenes where expert blaster users conveniently miss for plot reasons This isnt an Disney issue This is a star wars issue One scene that already comes to mind is Yoda and obi wan storming the ruined temple and multiple blaster bolts just conviently flying past Yoda and obi wan and some even being aimed at the lightsabers blades themselves
Fair enough, but if Grand Admiral Thrawn was really the top-tier strategist he's made out to be wouldn't he have forseen that eventually Jedi would be engaged in combat and taught his Stormtroopers to fight them this way? I don't think it's fair to blame fans for inconsistencies in writing. This was an awfully filmed scene that could have been done so much better. That in itself is a Disney problem.@@gabrielchastain6091
I think the problem was that Ahsoka was doing a lot of twirls in the same direction, like twirling both sabers forward and then backwards so it looked funny. Her deflections seemed loose, like look at Ezra he is blocking shots and keeping his stance tight and centered. Ahsoka in clone wars did the same thing, even with dual lightsabets one would deflect, then she'd have another block the next shot but she kept her stance tight and the sabers centered for maximum protection. The speed isn't the problem, its her stance its loose, not maximizing protection of dual sabers, its awkward
They look like baseball hitters trying to gently punt a ball. Like, why are Ahsoka and Bo Katan pushing against the blasts?? They can just hold the lightsaber in the proper angle to deflect the bolt. There's no need to push it back.
Probably one of the most accurate comments. CW ahsoka doesnt do twirls coz it's irrelevant. Their stance and blocks have to be planned and accurate, not just randomly swinging without a purpose. Also CW ahsoka's gameplan wouldnt be just standing and waiting, she'd be charging towards you and do acrobatics.
I'm disappointed with Ahsoka's lack of speed and agility during her fights overall. However the duels against Morgan really had me engaged, both actors did a great job displaying skill and power (especially actress Diana Lee Inosanto). I liked the finale and how the show explored Ahsoka's guilt about Anakin and why she's deserving at a life of happiness. I loved when Ahsoka smiles it truly warmed my heart.
The fight with Morgan looks cool, until you realize that there's no reason why Ashoka even should have fought against Morgan twice. Its like she forgets that she has force abilities that would make it so that Morgan wouldn't even be able to touch her. What's stopping Ashoka from flinging her away like she did to Shin? Or pushing her like we've seen Ezra do to the Night Troopers? She could probably rip the blade out of her hand and just end the fight immediately.
@@uhagi6720mother talzin fought against mace window and held her own, nightsisters are very powerful especially when they are given the rebirth that Morgan was. You could literally say the same about any lightsaber fight ever, both characters are leveled up for their final fight and that’s why Ahsoka sent Sabine and Ezra away, Morgan was a much more formidable opponent once she got the power boost and the sword.
One thing that i DO love about the scene is when sabine tries to deflect a blaster shot, misses, gets shot in the head, stumbles back, then flails for a bit. Had they focused more on that during the scene it could have been more salvagable.
Gotta love how if she didn't have Beskar she'd be fried. Gotta give credit to a stormtrooper with perfect aim (and a zombie trooper at that). But, you know, sometimes plot armor is literally physical armor. Just ask Mando. I personally want to believe that Beskar must have a "magnetism" effect on blaster bolts considering how nobody with Beskar ever takes a hit on the 50-80% body mass NOT covered in it.
I wonder if Rosario was injured or something. It all started in that kata scene with the Anikin holo. She was so slow and rigid, unlike anything done before that.
@@urDM2niteshe's always been choppy and lacking fluidity. This was just one of the worst cases. To be fair the anakin/ahsoka fight shows it really well. You can tell Hayden is fluid and is actively slowing down to account for her.
I really think her costume has something to do with her stiffness. Although the scene of her practicing with Anakin’s hologram has to be some of the most awkward movements I’ve ever seen
It annoys me that people are now saying 'what ever happened to the choreography of the prequels' when the exact same people spent the whole of the 2000s and 2010s complaining that the prequels over-did choreography, and looked too planned out, saying it was like a dance sequence. Are we just going to pretend we don't remember that? Now that enough time has passed and newer things have come out, they romanticise the prequels and act like they weren't saying the exact same thing less than 10 years ago about the Maul fight. This is why I hope creatives stop trying to listen and pander to fandom cultures, not because they won't make mistakes, as all creatives do at some point in their career, but because the idea that fans know what they want and know better than the creators is false. When Sequel era kids are old enough I can't wait for 'What happened to throne room choreography?' It's the same pattern, no wonder George got fed up and stopped making new films. Many fans just don't care about consistency of perspective, it's just their knee-jerk reaction to something taken to the furthest extreme and the further people explain why they have a strong emotional reaction to something, the clearer it becomes how little they understood the source material, to begin with.
Exactly!!! People complained so damn much about the prequel trilogy having fake looking saber battles that they looked like a dance and it was to flashy and the moves made no sense. Its annoying this fandom is shit
People seem to forget as well that the prequels, were prequels. You know, where thousands of Jedi existed and had free time to actually train in combat properly? Unlike the OT Where Luke had like a year's worth of training or so, and Rey had even less in the sequels. Unless the character was trained by a prequel era duelist you're not going to get prequel level choreography lol. And people also seem to forget that in the prequels, we have the Obi-Wan vs Anakin spin off that was completely useless to the fight on Mustafar lol. The Throne Room choreography sucked too, you have that one guard getting hit by an invisible weapon lol. it's the same with lightsaber effectiveness. Original Trilogy had luke's saber bounce off metal pipes against Vader. Kenobi's saber bounces off stormtrooper armor. But fans cry "Why don't sabers cut through anything?" Because it already exists that sabers will not always 100% cut through an object.
I think the people who complained about the prequels are like 40-60 years old now, and the people who praise the prequels and complain about the stuff now were growing up during the prequel era 😂
I still don’t understand why Thrawn would send half of his Troopers to finish off Ahsoka & Co instead of sending another batch of Tie Fighters after their ship was taken down There’s so many dumb decisions in this episode.
Tbh anything he sends will be all destroyed in one way or in a very ridiculous way because of the big thick plot armor Dave filoni made for his characters.
I'm assuming he wanted to distract them Thrawn wanted the troopers to distract them which mostly worked And the soldiers are expendable to him so they arnt important

Remember when anakin waited trillion years to wait for her to dismarm him? It's pure star wars Comedy, and really must laugh in a genuine way. This Scene is almost on the same Level.
Anyway the real reason why Lightsaber fights have been slower since TFA is very simple: The Props they've been using the LED light ones are bigger and heavier than the Allimnum/Carbon Fiber/Plastic rods they used in the PT, so it's harder on the actors and Cherographers (but easier on the VFX team)
Exactly, I’m hoping they will figure out something that still has a light up blade, but nowhere near as heavy, kind of like the base lit sabers you can buy online
I still think they should bring back Nick Gillard to choreograph the fights. Also, the reason the sequel fights were so slow was because JJ Abrams hated the prequel choreography for being "dance-like." He apparently forgot that Jedi have precognition and heightened senses.
Not entirely true. There are plenty of fan films and live choreo that use the same LED sabers and are still very fast and kinetic because these are people that have trained for a while. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen still move great for being out of practice for nearly twenty years. Most of the stunt people look good; I especially think the actress for Morgan Elsbeth elevated the final duel because she was a stuntwoman. The actress for young Ahsoka looked great even though she had the same or maybe even less prep time as the main cast. The new sabers might be a bit heavier but the main problem is still time constraints and choreography.
"The Props they've been using the LED light ones are bigger and heavier than the Allimnum/Carbon Fiber/Plastic rods they used in the PT" So how do you explain Hayden and Ewan being able to recreate their ROTS moves in these series?
There's been quite a bit of criticism of Rosario Dawson's un-Jedi-like physicality/athleticism in the series. Seems like she's not gifted in that respect and the production did a lousy job of covering for it with clever choreography and editing.
I was actually expecting it to end with Thrawn’s campaign beginning with him making an announcement and then the former imperials in the New Republic began to attack Republic officials. And one of the things would have been Hera having to get Mon Mothma away from being captured meanwhile the Imperial remnant meets with Thrawn and they begin an attack.
The writers don't understand how to create tension and raise stakes. Look at Mando season 3's ending. It set up nothing. There was no big loss experienced by the characters, no growth. It's all just content now.
The props they use are a lot heavier compared to the ones they used in the prequel’s. Disney tries to compensate the weight by making the blades shorter but it’s still not the same.
I don't get why they use them at all. Yeah they may be cheaper but they lose a lot more. The sabers don't feel als powerful they more look like led tubes.
@@Galm1 yeah that's what i meant with it may be cheaper. But i still don't get it, cause it also looks cheaper. In my opinion a lot of people would like disney star wars a lot more if at least the fights looked like in they looked in the prequels
0:31 All of the complaints about lack of decapitation and limbs being cut off are really stupid. Do people seriously not understand how ratings work? Be happy that they did give us a decapitation at all given the restraints on such violence.
I noticed that too. Her moves were clunky and wierd. It didn't look like she actively tries to deflrect blaster shots but she's practising parade performance.
Lets be real, Ahsoka, Sabine, or Ezra have NEVER cut an actual person in half. Only droids. I know this was due to them originating from a PG animated series so they COULDNT show that. However, this still canonically makes sense. I also dislike how people criticise this scene because they dont move. When in almost EVERY episode of Clone wars/ Rebels you have these "stand your ground" moments, where all the characters do is hold still and deflect blaster fire with their light sabers. Everything the characters do in this scene are things they've done before. that's jsut how they fight. How they;ve always fought. People who criticise this scene have no idea who these characters really are and have probably never watched the shows they originated from. everything they do in this scene is soo spot on and just perfect for them. PS. i also like how Ezra gets introduced. In his first fight scene all he does is do the things he used to do in Rebels. never actually strike the enemy with his light saber. he kept his fighting "pg" XD.. (only knocking people out, blasting them with their own blasters, etc) and that just felt soo true to how he use to be in rebels. Like.. we gotta take into consideration how these characters fought i nthe past. Ezra isnt gonna be chopping people in half anytime soon .. he's NEVER fought like that before.
The Qui-Gon/Kenobi Vs Maul fight, the Anakin VS Obiwan, then in the OGs with the gravity of Luke and Vader on Cloud City, this just doesn’t compare so it feels kind of powerless. That’s actually the real word for the feeling I get behind this new Ashoka series and the force in general in Star Wars now. It just feels powerless. Like no weight to anything.
All those troopers had to do was form a firing line, then all fire at once. The fact that clones could kill Jedi by shooting them but that massive number of stormtroopers couldn't do jack was pathetic.
On Ahsoka's part it's as if she was learning how to use 2 sabers for the first time She'd do 3-4 parrys with one blade then switch to other, then rinse and repeat
Yeah - I found this scene very disappointing. There wasn't the intensity of earlier fights, it was almost as if they couldn't get it right, so they used rehearsal or 'the best of the bad takes' footage. "Just wave your arms around, we'll put the FX in later."
I was more upset that not one of them thought about slicing a trooper. Like they see that the troopers LITERALLY rise from the dead and even as they were backing up that even deflecting or causing flesh wounds they still got up and kept coming after them I would’ve expected Sabine to actually be the one to at least cut a trooper head off or in half and could’ve shown a difference between Sabine and ahsoka that ahsoka would’ve still been deflecting shots as a light side thing where ahsoka isn’t directly doing something vicious vs Sabine finding a solution that is quick and end all but it would be a way for her to fall to the dark side with being more aggressive and her killing something this already dead that she can go and kill a still sentient being
This scene is overhated. They were being backed into a corner and Ahsoka Ahsoka literally says to hold their ground i.e play defensive and draw them out. Once there was an opening, Ezra took it and sliced them off one by one, Sabine provided cover fire, while Ahsoka formed the main shield blocking the blaster fire. Its more strategic than flashy.
I see people saying "Ahsoka is in her 40s" as a defense for why she is so slow in this scene, and that's just a poor excuse. Far more Jedi and Sith have demonstrated far greater combat prowess at older ages than Ahsoka. Qui-Gon, Dooku, Yoda, Palpatine, even Baylan, all several years (in some cases decades, or in Yoda's case centuries) Ahsoka's senior, and all performed far more competently in open combat/duels. Overall, this scene just fell flat and was, frankly, embarrassing. All Ahsoka did was stand in place with a smirk on her face and twirl her lightsabers. Something like this could be forgiven as passable were it in Rebels (and it feels like they based a lot of the combat for the series off of that show), but in live action it just looks slow paced and horrible.
I liked it, seemed fine to me. How about instead of looking for things to criticize; enjoy one of the best pieces of StarWars media in a while!! Be happy.
Why couldn’t they get someone who actually looks like ahsoka and is more agile and hire a stunt double for all the flips she does in her signature fighting style
It could have been better if the characters actually wielded lightsabers and not some glowing baseball bats, because I can guarantee whatever they were using in that scene was not a lightsaber that can cut through pure steel.
Oh that depends Sabers have always been inconsistent Sometimes they can cut right through steel Sometimes they have to slowly melt through it And sometimes even in the og trilogy There are sometimes where it will just bounce off metals Lightsabers don't always gotta cut through everything like butter And some sword styles are heavier in nature You people like to bring up swinging it like a bat but I just don't see it
Yeah I completely get that. I loathe good fight sequences getting ruined by silly vfx. People have become used to what I call the "schizophrenic camera" with jarring focus zoom and fast cuts, which is frequent in contemporary asian action entertainment. To me, that style is unwatchable, gives me headaches. Unfortunately the attention spans of some audiences now only last for about half-a-second before they get twitchy and annoyed. Hence the rise of Tik-Tok. So I guess now, 'normal speed' is too slow. 🤷♀
@@J-Salamander69 unlike a lot of films, etc., the fight scene was visible, not in the dark (!) and one could follow what was happening. As opposed to the often terrible habit shows have of dark, muddy, shaky shots of kicks and punches through the air lazy junk.

Yeah, that particular shot of 3 characters spaced out in a line, just standing still ... It was just terrible. Took me right out of the experience just visually with how static and boring it was. Why not have some actual movement, an over the shoulder shot or something. Shouldn't Ahsoka be running forward, dodging and blocking shots while closing to melee distance? Instead of just standing still?
Holy crap, if you think the show and the fight scenes are bad just don’t watch it. If you’re a true Star Wars fan you will look past the flaws and truly enjoy the show.
Totally disagree, this scene was amazing. It showed the training that Akakin bestowed onto Ashoka that trickled down to Ezra (from him watching the hollows, he's using the same form), that trickled down to sabine. They're in a defensive stance, so they're trying not to get surrounded or overrun. They also haven't seen Ezra in years but still manage to coordinate a successful defensive attack. Ashoka shows off her wartime training by recognizing Sabines weakness, and calling out to her to switch to her strength. Both Ezra and Ashoka are slower seemingly because of 2 things, 1. it's live action and not animation, characters can only move as fast as the actors and budgets will allow. 2. because they've aged significantly since Rebels, so it's natural for them to slow down a bit, even though we see Ezra still shows off some of his agility, also keeping in mind that Ashoka has to look after 2 padawans, her priority is their safety. Lastly can y'all remember this is a DISNEY show, so we're not going to get any kind of decapitation, and if we do it's going to be managed by camera tricks like we saw. A "The Boys" style Star Wars would be absolutely amazing, but we'll never get that.
People are so nit-picky. The show was good, and if you look at the character progression of Ahsoka there's a reason her style is changing. Freaking internet critics.
Holy shit, this fanbase is impossible to satisfy. Even if they all moved with double the speed and precision someone would whine about this scene anyway.
Why aren't the force-users moving like force-users? Why are the lightsabers not cutting things? Why are the trained force-users moving their weightless lightsabers so slow?
Everytime Dawson takes up a lightsaber everything on the screen goes to shit. The woman had no propper training in how to wield her weapon. I am a teacher in historical fencing and she moves like every beginner I ever had to train: stiff, unconfident, no awareness of her own body or how the object she is holding can move. She is either an absolute miscast or received literally zero training for her choreographies. It's just painfull to watch her as Ahsoka.
Rosario is possibly the most stiff and clumsy star wars actress in the franchise, it's hard to watch her fight scenes. The facial features fits the character, but her body composition and especially movement doesn't.
The ruined Ezra. Ezra was one of the strongest force users by the end of Rebels. He legitimately could've beaten Ahsoka in maybe a few fights (he would've lost a lot but thats down to lack of experience) he should've been wiping the floor with these guys by now.
And here I thought the Kenobi vs Vader scene from A New Hope was the worst fight scene I've watched...nope. Here she comes to save the daaaaaaaay! Slowest and weakest on the waaaaaaaaay!
The immediate comparison that came to my head of that initial awkward to frontal head-on cut is a literal game of Beat Saber. Rhythmic slow motions like swatting away flies with fans or a conductor in front of an orchestra. Luke at the end of Mandalorian Season 2 had faster, sudden moves which make more sense in combat, not the slow and lazy moves as in that opening scene. I liked the fight choreography that came after. Ezra's Eman did alright, and Sabine was SUPPOSED to be less skilled and awkward trying to predict blaster shots so Natasha Liu B. is off the hook for this one. Rosario... 🤦 She had better fight scenes, this was not one of them.
Honestly I never realized ahsoka moved slow…but then I realized it was because I never actually watched the fights. My mind just glossed over them all as there was no stakes or internal consistency. So I just mentally checked out.
Rosario Dawson has to be the least athletic person I’ve ever seen fight in Star Wars. It was really mind blowing how slow it looked. And it came off clearly like it was rehearsed. They were already in the place for the next swing or block etc way before the other person was there.
I loved the episode personally and so have most people I’ve talked to. I think that scene felt a little stiff but I really liked the night troopers. I only wish there was some limb loss from the troopers. Despite that the episode was great in my eyes.
It bugged me, so much of the stuff with the Night Troopers bugged me. It did the thing where you can visibly see the characters plot armor deflecting shots.
People need to realize that decapitation via lightsabers on *HUMANS* is never shown in Live action star wars (unless im missing something thats not Jango Fett's death). It probably wasn't allowed.
yea like idk why people screaming for it this is Star Wars there's a level of class and elegance to killing and you can't just decapitate people also blood ? yea very little of that is shown
It reminds me of Wonder Woman in Justice League. She lifts her arms for the people to shoot at her bracelets. This is even slower than the animation, so it looks ridiculous. It looks like she's doing a horrible dance routine and the storm troopers have pinpoint accuracy aiming for her lightsabers.
The shot was very awkward But it lasted all of what 5 seconds? People should just get over it. This is like how someone made a 10 min video of how a clone missed 2 shots in Kenobi
Felt like the budget caught up with the show. In fact, I’ve felt this way about multiple shows in recent years. Top notch casting. Phenomenal sets and costuming. Writing that starts promising, but slips as the season goes on. Direction and choreography that fall flat.
Tbh I was too detracted by the fact we see three Jedi standing side by side for the first time since the purge. But I do understand what people mean. But fans need to relax. They tried.
People find an excuse to complain about anything. The scene was cool, people need to learn to not put such high expectations on literally every tiny detail
I thought those short and tight deflections were specifically a direct reference to her training with the 501st and the motions are literally the exact same as the first few she deflects before Rex gets up and starts shooting at her from the back in which case she starts doing short half spins. I loved it. It's literally her training both Ezra and Sabine in the same vein as Anakin trained her. It reminded me of Kelleran Beq anticipating where the bolts would be. Now Ahsoka can sense their intent even when they're dead. Pretty cool. Beyond cool to me. Like she's advanced so far that it looks effortless to her. Then immediately she dialed it up against Morgan including at some point fighting off both troopers and Witch.

Then thrawn sends two tie fighters to attack them the fighters hit the ship's engines which one of it was clearly damaged. After that the fighters never got any hit on the ship. Then sabine powered up the ship then make it jump to hit the two tie fighters approaching it. The pilots clearly can move away but they instead cover their faces and scream. So the ship destroyed the tie fighters then it crashed to the ground suffering significant damage sabine walked away from the damaged ship and say "got em" while ahsoka didn't care that she damaged her ship (Tbh Rosario Dawson didn't really show any emotion in this series her acting is so stoic.) So Huyang and noti people repaired the ship while the three ride their two alien wolfs to thrawn's ship. Once near they started to charge the tower. Then they force open the gate tot he tower and started fighting the troopers (as you see in the video) The troopers all die cuz they're a bunch of idiots then they get revived to become zombies and started to chase the three up to the tower. Alot of fighting happens since Morgan was ordered to stay and delay them, She fights Ahsoka while the two rush in to get on board the ship. Also along the way Ezra always need sabine's help at most times. So to get onboard the ship, Sabine force pushed ezra into the hangar and the ship starts to fly away but before that Thrawn ordered to destroy the tower so the ship bombarded the tower until it gets destroyed. Ahsoka's ship appears to save them while they're being bombarded again. Ahsoka's ship didn't suffered any visible damaged from the tie fighter attack. Ahsoka's ship also didn't suffered any hit from the turbo lazers even though they're literally aligned with the target which is the tower they're infront of it but it didn't get any hit. Finally thrawn escapes and ezra goes to the New republic fleet and meet hera. Sabine and Ahsoka and others were left in peridia.

-Fought through the entire Clone Wars
-Was trained by Anakin
-Bested Darth Maul
-Survived Order 66
-Set the foundation of the entire Rebellion
-and fought Vader and lived to tell the tale?
I didn’t hate this scene as much, but the only thing that bothered me was the Night troopers, not being chopped in half or at least a decapitation or 2 A little disappointing
Yeah for some reason lightsabers in Disney don't act like lightsabers unless plot needs to happen. They act like bats instead. In Kenobi it's really stupid when he is basically giving the storm troopers in Leia's holding room 2 quick taps not even leaving burn marks. And then here with the night troopers it was also just...it's just not great, it'd be so good if they had things work how lightsabers are supposed to but yeah...
Yeah like it would be more horrifying if you had dismembered stormtroopers crawling towards them trying to kill them.
I agree I barley saw any cuts to the armor that looked fatal. If Cal Kestis attended, there would be no survivors cause he would've thrusted his saber into every chest he saw.
All that there was was shallow cuts to the armour, which are less lethal than what happened to Sabine
Fuck yea! That is some straight bullshit. You cant deny it...
As soon as I saw them standing like that. I thought “bro this is like those really bad scenes in cheap movies”
For me the difference is clear when Ashoka vs Morgan. Morgan actress' movement is fluid while Rosario looking so stiff.
I think Rosario has potential. That fight was honestly one of her best. I think it has something to do with her “hair” tails which is y it makes it difficult but I’m sure they could have thought of something.
Maybe is more difficult for rosario with all that makeup
We also have to remember that Ahsoka is in her mid 40s she is not as powerful as she was in rebels and the last season of clone wars
The fight scenes use stunt doubles.
Morgan's actress is the god daughter of Bruce Lee
Her training in the ship before the scene looked a senior citizen doing morning water aerobics
Part of me feels like if Ahsoka was an animated series instead it would have been the most bad ass thing ever, but they failed to capture lightning in a bottle bringing these characters to live action. The show has its moments, but it falls behind its predecessors

These stormtroopers are not trained in the art of killing Jedi like the clones were
Clones were made to be ready to kill Jedi
Not only this but not every Jedi is good at blocking blaster bolts
Different Jedi is saber forms are better or worse at blocking blasts
And multiple Jedi didn't even. Have time to know what was happening
Aayla secura was shot in the back
Plo koon was blown out of the sky
Ki adi Mundi was confused as to why his buds suddenly just started shooting at him and he was having to worry with droids possibly attacking him from behind him
That one Jedi got blown up on a speeder bike
And you want to criticize this but this is a problem in all of star wars
So many scenes where expert blaster users conveniently miss for plot reasons
This isnt an Disney issue
This is a star wars issue
One scene that already comes to mind is Yoda and obi wan storming the ruined temple and multiple blaster bolts just conviently flying past Yoda and obi wan and some even being aimed at the lightsabers blades themselves
Because plot armor always protects the good guys in these kind of things😅
It’s just a Star Wars thing
That happened to Ashoka during Order 66 and she still escaped
There's no need to push it back.
ezra looks like a donkey in the shot aswell
Ahsoka isn’t as young as she used to be…
The fight with Morgan looks cool, until you realize that there's no reason why Ashoka even should have fought against Morgan twice.
@@uhagi6720because Morgan has powers too

In season 7, Ashoka was mocap by Lauren Mary Kim who is a phenomenal stuntwoman. The difference in physical skill is extreme.
One thing that i DO love about the scene is when sabine tries to deflect a blaster shot, misses, gets shot in the head, stumbles back, then flails for a bit.

The problem Is that they tried to combine prequel spin with OT pacing
Turns out It sucks
I think the people who complained about the prequels are like 40-60 years old now, and the people who praise the prequels and complain about the stuff now were growing up during the prequel era 😂

The new sabers might be a bit heavier but the main problem is still time constraints and choreography.
nah, they just suck. Disney sucks, the writers suck..all of it, maximum woke sucktitude.

So true
It literally felt like the boba finale 😂
Very good comparison actually, a stiff, jumbled up plot armor mess
The fact that stormtroopers just run instinctively toward anyone holding a lightsaber will never not be funny to me
The Qui-Gon/Kenobi Vs Maul fight, the Anakin VS Obiwan, then in the OGs with the gravity of Luke and Vader on Cloud City, this just doesn’t compare so it feels kind of powerless. That’s actually the real word for the feeling I get behind this new Ashoka series and the force in general in Star Wars now. It just feels powerless. Like no weight to anything.
All those troopers had to do was form a firing line, then all fire at once. The fact that clones could kill Jedi by shooting them but that massive number of stormtroopers couldn't do jack was pathetic.
remember these are storm troopers they can't hit shit LOL ever since A New Hope
On Ahsoka's part it's as if she was learning how to use 2 sabers for the first time
She'd do 3-4 parrys with one blade then switch to other, then rinse and repeat
Ahsoka is moving as she has an intercostal neuralgia
It's like when you played power rangers on the playground back in the day fighting fake bad guys
I literally laughed when I saw this scene. It looked like a school project lmao
Yeah - I found this scene very disappointing. There wasn't the intensity of earlier fights, it was almost as if they couldn't get it right, so they used rehearsal or 'the best of the bad takes' footage. "Just wave your arms around, we'll put the FX in later."
“Draw them out” yeah because keeping them huddled in a hallway where their numbers would actually work against wouldn’t work…this show is so terrible.
I was more upset that not one of them thought about slicing a trooper. Like they see that the troopers LITERALLY rise from the dead and even as they were backing up that even deflecting or causing flesh wounds they still got up and kept coming after them I would’ve expected Sabine to actually be the one to at least cut a trooper head off or in half and could’ve shown a difference between Sabine and ahsoka that ahsoka would’ve still been deflecting shots as a light side thing where ahsoka isn’t directly doing something vicious vs Sabine finding a solution that is quick and end all but it would be a way for her to fall to the dark side with being more aggressive and her killing something this already dead that she can go and kill a still sentient being
Guys, Disney will NEVER do dismemberment in live action. The closest we will ever get is animation and games. It's "Too graphic" for them.
Didnt the diverse woman in obi kenobi cut the less diverse womans hand off?
It looks like your holding deflect in the complete saga
Ahsoka won that fight because she had the power of many on her side.
The Acolyte episode 3 : "Hold my blue milk"
Two Jedi and a Mandalorian cut their way through an undead horde of abandoned stormtroopers.
How the fuck do you make that boring?
I liked it, seemed fine to me. How about instead of looking for things to criticize; enjoy one of the best pieces of StarWars media in a while!! Be happy.
Why couldn’t they get someone who actually looks like ahsoka and is more agile and hire a stunt double for all the flips she does in her signature fighting style
It could have been better if the characters actually wielded lightsabers and not some glowing baseball bats, because I can guarantee whatever they were using in that scene was not a lightsaber that can cut through pure steel.
Oh that depends
Sabers have always been inconsistent
Sometimes they can cut right through steel
Sometimes they have to slowly melt through it
And sometimes even in the og trilogy
There are sometimes where it will just bounce off metals
Lightsabers don't always gotta cut through everything like butter
And some sword styles are heavier in nature
You people like to bring up swinging it like a bat but I just don't see it
I don't think it was an terrible scene, but definitely not the best scene and could've been better. But hey, glad to see them three battling it out.
I could actually see how the fight was, that I really liked. Call me an old wizard.
Unfortunately the attention spans of some audiences now only last for about half-a-second before they get twitchy and annoyed. of course lets enjoy because there is lightsabers
so just mindlessly consume. got it
The training level theory doesn’t work because Sabine is apparently Rey levels strong and doesn’t need training

I am glad you made a click-bait video about what some dorks on Twitter said.
Honestly I never realized ahsoka moved slow…but then I realized it was because I never actually watched the fights.
My mind just glossed over them all as there was no stakes or internal consistency. So I just mentally checked out.
Relatable
Rosario Dawson has to be the least athletic person I’ve ever seen fight in Star Wars. It was really mind blowing how slow it looked. And it came off clearly like it was rehearsed. They were already in the place for the next swing or block etc way before the other person was there.
I loved the episode personally and so have most people I’ve talked to. I think that scene felt a little stiff but I really liked the night troopers. I only wish there was some limb loss from the troopers. Despite that the episode was great in my eyes.
Honestly people just need to stfu and appreciate what y’all got. NO ONE is ever going to be happy with no matter what y’all get.
It probably wasn't allowed.
yea like idk why people screaming for it this is Star Wars there's a level of class and elegance to killing and you can't just decapitate people also blood ? yea very little of that is shown
count dooku
What don’t fans complain about bruh
Meanwhile I liked it. I swear no one hates star wars more than its supposed "fans".
I haven't heard a single person complain about this scene
It reminds me of Wonder Woman in Justice League. She lifts her arms for the people to shoot at her bracelets. This is even slower than the animation, so it looks ridiculous. It looks like she's doing a horrible dance routine and the storm troopers have pinpoint accuracy aiming for her lightsabers.
And then came the accolyte HAHAHA!
the power of maaaaanyyyyyy
Disney destroyed the clones wars. 2003 Clone wars is the real one
The shot was very awkward
But it lasted all of what 5 seconds?
People should just get over it.
This is like how someone made a 10 min video of how a clone missed 2 shots in Kenobi
Felt like the budget caught up with the show. In fact, I’ve felt this way about multiple shows in recent years. Top notch casting. Phenomenal sets and costuming. Writing that starts promising, but slips as the season goes on. Direction and choreography that fall flat.
Tbh I was too detracted by the fact we see three Jedi standing side by side for the first time since the purge. But I do understand what people mean. But fans need to relax. They tried.
These complaints are becoming nitpicks now
Everything people always find to complain about this show, I never ever noticed or understood. Ahsoka was amazing as fuck to me
Same here
People find an excuse to complain about anything. The scene was cool, people need to learn to not put such high expectations on literally every tiny detail
Rosario Dawson. It was like an old woman. Her scenes are horrible. She couldn’t even try.
I don't get why Star Wars fans feel the need to defend bad choreography with "lore". Rosario just looks goofy doing those halfassed lightsaber spins.
It looks like they were practicing the shot, and the director just recorded that
"Ok start swinging"
I think yall will complain about anything
Cuz it's so freaking bad that it ruined the episode
stop eating up the shit disney has been spoon feeding you, people complained about the choreography of ep8 as well
@@kieffer9705 honestly I haven't fully watched the episode but from seeing this clip it honestly doesn't seek that bad it looks more or less like the light sabor dauls that we have had for years and I have seen the movies the series even Legos and it looks pretty similar I don't understand the issue
@@kieffer9705 so please tell me how is it freaking bad

The Movement of ahsoka isn't polished and look goofy.
But yeah that's not the only thing that looks awful in the episode.
The episode started with ahsoka's ship covering the herd of Noti people. Ahsoka and Sabine were talking on top of the ship and sabine apologize to Ashoka for betraying her to find ezra and ahsoka basically says it's ok. So the ship destroyed the tie fighters then it crashed to the ground suffering significant damage sabine walked away from the damaged ship and say "got em" while ahsoka didn't care that she damaged her ship (Tbh Rosario Dawson didn't really show any emotion in this series her acting is so stoic.)
So Huyang and noti people repaired the ship while the three ride their two alien wolfs to thrawn's ship.
Once near they started to charge
the tower. Thrawn ordered a bombardment on the ground below in order to kill them. But as they get bombarded, None of it hit any of them not even a close hit when they're literally movie in a straight path.
Star Wars fans complaining about something? Who coulda seen that coming
