I’m getting older and since convid have seen my handicap go from 7 to 15 because I can’t seem to hit my long irons well anymore. I’m transitioning to hybrids but I miss the shot shaping I use to have. It would be good to have a series on introducing changes to your swing based on tell tale signs of age creeping in. How to introduce a hybrid into your game, improve your short game to mitigate the loss of length etc . I enjoy your teaching style and the drills to help install good technique
This make absolute sense I trap my irons slightly further back than usual and have in to out/neutral path but with driver on front foot it's huge out to in
LOL! That’s so funny…. At 67, I’ve only been playing 4A little over a year….. I’ve been thinking all this time that it was only me that had this problem! LOL! Thanks man…. I realize needed your help today. If, it ever stop raining here in the Bay Area….. I’ll take this 2 the range ! Thanks again!
AT - I have a pull hook. There is no way I want to change my swing path as you suggest. If anything, I want to hit more from the inside to out direction to promote a push draw. Love your content. This will be helpful for a lot of people as your content always is.
I definitely havea closed clubface at impact. Im taking lessons at Golftec and have seen it on video. I'm working with the Pro there to hit a push draw and it's coming along. I just know if I aim furhter left than I have been, I'll be in the woods LOL. Right now I'm moving right to left 25 - 30 yards.
@@AliTaylorGolf I have been. Dropped my Handicap from 31 to 24.8 last year. Fixed a slice that caused a lot of OB/Lost balls. So hitting left is a "good" miss for me. Love your channel. Keep up the great work. Your videos really help many of us.
But can you hit either while keeping the Hula Hoop going ‘round your hips? Ha! Seriously, this lesson was fantastic. The hoop is an excellent teaching aid. I plan to work on the two different set ups and swing paths in the spring. Thanks, Ali.
I'm assuming you use "range balls" or lesser quality balls since you don't hit into a projector screen. Does Trackman atone for that or are your normal numbers higher than what we see in these videos? Because with my portable launch monitor, I can tell when I'm hitting my Chrome Soft or Chrome Soft X LS compared to my "refurbished/water ball" Titleist, callaway or even new chea Nitro pracrice balls. But my monitor is nowhere near advanced far as swing path, face to path ect... it measures swing and ball speeds, smash factor carry and total distance. But I hit into a net.
See I spent all last summer figuring out my driver now I can hit 260-280yds straight draw and baby fade but now I can’t hit my 7,6,5 iron lol. I love and hate golf.
Ben Hogan's lessons... the page about foot positions. Your explanation is right on the money and I can't wait to try it.
The best explanation I've seen of club path and the difference between irons and drivers. Thank you Ali 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it Mark
@AliTaylorGolf Just need to learn how to change my swing path now! Do you have any videos that will help?

Thank you. That was spot on!!!!
Absolutely spot on with my game, you must be a mind reader 🥴
Really makes sense and again brilliant advise, wish I knew this 20 years ago👍
Really good video Ali..... very understandable and well presented. Cheers.
Glad you liked it

Hopefully better going forward with your game
Excellent advices on swing path.
Thank you
Thank you for your great videos. I’m relatively new to golf and hoping to break 100 soon thanks to your advice. I’ll let you know when I break the 100

Yes I get that I can see the low point and the direction
Which launch monitor do you use? I like the fact you can see how far behind the ball you hit.
Trackman 4
what a great lesson
Thank you

Might be more face issue rather than path.

If you get that face good, then you can work on your path, enjoy the process.

Easy way to explain the low point. What about those Takomo 201?
They are great, review coming soon

What isn't clear to me is the distinction between "swing direction" and "club path." Could you, sometime, give a quick definition of each? Thanks!
Swing path is direction the club head is moving at full compression of the golf ball. Swing direction is direction at lowest point of swing.
They need to make one length drivers aswell lol
