    As David mentions in the video, the provided instructions are not great. Watching him helped out. Using the video, I was able to get my battery replaced without any issues. And David, I like your test equipment...

    I'm having an issue just trying to remove the four screws. One remaining seems so tight, I'd strip either the tool or the screw head. Any suggestions?

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад +2

      I would try tapping the screw head. Support the watch on a hard surface, then put the screwdriver in the head, and tap the screwdriver slightly while turning it. First try to loosen, and if that doesn't work then try to tighten, and then loosen. If that doesn't work, squirt a little silicon lubricant. Good luck!

      So sorry to here that. Some of the connectors are a little finicky. Make sure they are firmly seated. It shouldn't matter if you touched the motherboard, as long as you didn't damage it. Good luck.

      I haven't experienced that; but I would't be surprised if that was the charger's way of saying that It can't recharge the battery. Perhaps the connection to the battery is faulty. Check the connector again; or perhaps the connection between the battery and the watch is damaged. Good luck!

    David, thanks for the video, I am also going to replace the battery in the Gear S2.
    I have one question: from your video it is not clear to me what ensures the waterproofness of the watch and therefore whether it will remain after the battery replacement.
    Can you please clarify this for me?

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад +1

      There is a little rubber seal that fits in a groove where the back snaps in. Watch carefully as you open the back to see where it goes. I really don't know if the watch is waterproof; I never tested it, either before or after the battery replacement. Good luck!

    I need to replace my Gear S2 Battery and found this video. [now in Nov 2022] Everything worked like a charm and I re-connected four of the five cables to the motherboard. But, for some reason, the yellow rectangular cable [next to the black one] does not reach the socket where the pins go. I have disassembled more than once, thinking maybe some cable was under the motherboard or battery, but this is not the case. Four cables are in place , but the fifth one just does not reach. I'm frustrated. Any suggestions?

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад +2

      I had a problem with the Bluetooth transmitter popping out of place (about 7:10). Check to see if that is seated properly. That might be the cable you are referencing. Also the motherboard has to snap in firmly (it actually snaps in). If it doesn't, maybe the battery isn't seated properly and is holding the motherboard away. When everything is seated properly, all the cables reach. Good luck!

    • @hiramsanchez4912
      @hiramsanchez4912 Год назад +2

      @@LifewithDavid1 I had the same issue with the transmitter, but it was no issue reseating it. The motherboard "snapped" into place. All cables were reconnected. But the issue with the last one won't. [rectangular on opposite end of Bluetooth, nest to black connector] I keep tanking it apart and trying again ... same issue. I'm baffled.

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад +2

      @@hiramsanchez4912 All I can think is that the battery is not seating properly, or is thicker than the original. What I would do would be to remove the new battery and snap the motherboard back in to see if all the cables can be connected. If they do, then you'll have a clue as to what's going on. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад

      Not sure. I would make sure there wasn't any foreign material on the boards or connectors that could cause a short. Also, I've heard that some of the batteries could be defective. You know, when the price is super low, that could be an outlet for a manufacturer's defective production. It's hard to know how reputable a vendor. I've not had a problem, but I usually buy the middle of the pack price wise. Good luck.

      I don't think so. There's no room for a bigger battery; and that's pretty much the only way you can get higher capacity with this type of battery. I would stick to buying a high quality battery with good reviews. The standard sized battery that I installed over a year ago has been going great,. I charge it every night and have had no capacity issues. Good luck.

    Some of these batteries advertised on Amazon claim to have 30% more power than the original. What do you think of your replacement battery and are you getting long life out of a charge?

    • @LifewithDavid1
      @LifewithDavid1  Год назад +1

      After an initial period of charging and using the watch a few times; the new battery started lasting a long time. Life is as good as the original was when it was new. I can get a full day (18 hours) and only use 50% battery life as long as the phone is moderately close to the watch. If the phone and watch are separated by 30 or so feet, the watch uses more power since it is more difficult to communicate with the phone over that longer distance. I've been really happy with the replacement, and that was 6 months ago.
