Winning an Olympic gold medal means nothing to any USA team, it's the other teams who care. We only care because it's annoying every time we severely stop trying for people to get insanely arrogant. I assume it's how the Japanese would feel if they lose in judo. At the same time, nowadays, maybe it's finally an era where the USA has to be serious if they want to win the gold, and last loss is a wake up call rather than a fluke.
Other teams have definitely caught up. We're are still the top, no doubt. That's why of we lose then it's extremely frowned upon. That might change in the near future but as of now, we're still at the top. We finally got unleashed in 92 (I bet that's why other countries wanted to keep us at only bringing college players) and we learned our lesson again as history repeated itself in 04. To be honest, I hope another team wins 🏆 so that we can get off that plateau of being the GOAT of the Olympics. When that happens it'll be mandatory for the USA 🇺🇸 to take the Olympics seriously.
Greece won Slovenia by 30 points and Croatia by 11..with Kalathes his best player and without Sloukas the best Player ..playing in Euroleague..kostas and 2 others were injured

I think an NBA championship is better because everyone expects USA to win (which we have at the moment of writing this) but the reason they expect us to win is because Olympic basketball is all around weaker then the NBA. It’s harder to win in Olympics but it’s easier to score in NBA so you can’t even compare…

I'm sorry @DKM. However, if France were to have Embiid, Wembanyama, and Gobert. There is absolutely no guarantee they're stopping US 3 point shooting. Even with homecourt advantage. That team is way too talented. AD vs Embiid is pretty even. Plus this is Embiid's first time in international basketball. Ad is averaging 23 points 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Embiid is averaging 25 and 12. Anthony Davis has averaged 26.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. However AD is only one person so let's say if Embiid were playing for France and the matchup was is AD vs Embiid. Now Wembayama and Gobert would switch. AD averages 32 12 and 2 against Wemby in only 2 games. Even though FIBA is more AD has played in those conditions before. using the fiba team as a reference for why the usa team might struggle with size is crazy bro. They went from JJJ to AD, bam and embiid. france lost to serbia and the usa just beat serbia by 30 so that take is aging poorly.

Because USA had won Gold since the first time Basketball was in the Olympics in 1932. The only loss of the USA at the Olympics, was 2004 with Lebronze.
Nowadays gold in the Olympics is infinitely harder than wining an NBA championship. A Gold Lebron at age 39 would be equal to or greater than if he won another championship. The NBA is one league in one country, when you play in the Olympics youre facing the whole world.

You delusional if you think Victor going to take France to win the Gold..
they couldnt even beat Serbia (which Team USA demolished)
Team USA is about to add another gold medal to the shelf
they need to buy another shelf
Thanasis had that Achilles injury
Great perspective on Jokic... but Joker... I can't let you get close. USA for the Gold. 😤
"Joel embiid is going to be the main guy on team USA" you sound dumb. "Anthony Davis and Bam can play the 5 in the NBA but not in the Olympics" 😂 please stop!
With all the skill level of the world in par. Taking the basketball gold medal now is everything. Now you can call it world champions!
French people as scared of the US like any other country we believe our team as a legitimate chance at the medal with our prodigy wemby and we dream of the gold
But you capping saying that as the host we are entitled to win, maybe some media that do not know basketball and how stacked the us team is say so but anyone with minimal ball knowledge cannot expect to win against the avengers
I think an NBA championship is better because everyone expects USA to win (which we have at the moment of writing this) but the reason they expect us to win is because Olympic basketball is all around weaker then the NBA. It’s harder to win in Olympics but it’s easier to score in NBA so you can’t even compare…
This guy has some crazy takes, but I’m here for it
Serbia(then called Yugoslavia) had pretty strong team in 2002 when we beat USA in Indianapolis. Two all stars Peja and Divac, one of the best non NBA players of all time Bodiroga, many NBA role players and euroleague stars. Also 1996 team who played Olympic final was comparable in strength to this.
Facts. Winning olympics or fiba world cup for usa is nothing but for the other countries? It's way more valuable than an nba ring
You showed a picture of Milutinov when mentioning Jovic

20:52 this hasn’t aged well. AD and Bam have been solid so far.
Is going to be an entertaining basketball Olympics
Bam is undersized but has a lot of muscle and has played in FIBA assuming he is guarding Wemby. Wemby would have height, wingspan, speed advantage on offense. However, on defense Wemby only has the height and wingspan advantage. Now Rudy is a great defender in the paint. However, switches have been shown to be a problem. With the coaches and schemes USA have I would say it's more difficult for USA but they still win.
Facts.
respectfully, the fiba game is a world where willy hernagomez outperform giannis, luka and jokic, all that nba stuff doesn't matter
Fair. At the same time there is no proof that Joel's game will translate into fiba while KD, Lebron, and Anthony Davis, and Jayson Tatum have all done that
@@DKM_SportsWilly is just an average center that foul baits to get a ton of free throws. Without free throws he’s only like a 10 ppg guy

using the fiba team as a reference for why the usa team might struggle with size is crazy bro. They went from JJJ to AD, bam and embiid. france lost to serbia and the usa just beat serbia by 30 so that take is aging poorly.

shows the nba top 75 is corrupt. Imagine Dame Lillard over Ginobili get outta here
He might not be top 75 NBA but in terms of resume and what he was able to accomplish in the nba, with Argentina and also in EuroLeague gives him one of the greatest resumes in basketball history
Oh yeah, beating an 04 team is so impressive. That team is weaker than our all stars team even in eras before that. Stop with the bs!
That was a Mediocre USA team, for what the U.S. is know for that team was mediocre
Because top 75 player of all time is exclusively for NBA 😂 its not that hard to understand.

Sadly Greece miss the absolute legend that is Thanasis Antetokoumpo, that lack of depth might hurt them in the finals.
Nowadays gold in the Olympics is infinitely harder than wining an NBA championship. A Gold Lebron at age 39 would be equal to or greater than if he won another championship. The NBA is one league in one country, when you play in the Olympics youre facing the whole world.

Any time the US puts their best players on the court, they aren't losing. The only time the US loses internationally is when the 3rd and 4th string play. This team isn't losing.

Yes but every year the competition gets tougher. Granted our players get better but the other teams are catching up. It's getting to the point where we could lose a game. With embids strength and height he should be dominating in the paint, but AD gladly took that role
The Olympics is only 6 games if you win it, and it would all be about a single game against the USA. How can that be equivalent to playing 294-336 games in the NBA with the best record out of 30 teams over that period (i.e. 3 championships)?
