- Showing my install of what I thought to be the cat-back system I wanted. This was not the case. I went a different route had had some help from a local shop, thanks again guys! The Flowmaster has a deeper tone. Hard to hear on video as some comparison clips sound alike.

Why does the stock exhaust almost sound louder and better than
aftermarket ?
They sound similar under acceleration, but the flowmaster at idle sounds amazing. Stock is almost silent
I just did this mod to my f150, I deleted the resonator and put a Magna flow 12649 muffler on it, and it sounds great. there are videos of this muffler on YT, exhaust addicts' channel. thanks for the video great content.

I replaced my stock muffler on my 2018 f150 5.0 with a Borla Pro Xs and it sounds perfect no drone!
Magnaflow Off-Road Pro Series. Clean rear end and great low low sound.
I’ve been there done that, sometimes you think you know what you want but in the end you just costed yourself an unnecessary expense. I think the stock exhaust actually sounds good, for $200 you could have gotten a resonator delete kit from Corsa, just adds a little more “bark”
Lol, after owning a 2013 and 2019 f150 5.0 that both had cat backs with resonator delete, and having eventually put both those trucks back to stock, I’m now waiting on the corsa resonator delete pipe for my 19’ 5.0 that I just put the stock exhaust back on after cutting my flomaster system off from the noise!
I just left mine stock. I’m not into loud exhaust tones. The 5.0 is loud enough already.
The Flowmaster sounds so much better. The Flowmaster FlowFX are the right volume in my opinion.
Was the first system a flowmaster original 40? The stock sounded more aggressive that the deltaflow flowmaster. I was just wondering what the first system was.

You didn't want drone but choose the worst possible muffler you could. The super 50 is probably what you would love or just find the mufflers your loved on a mustang and ran those

Sound better with the stock pipes
You have a truck cam... even with the 5.0 it won't sound like a GT unless you cam it. Also dual exhaust and single exhaust sound different. Find a good dual exhaust set up and you'll be alot closer to the "sound" you're going for.
You'll never get that sound from a new ford and never by cheap exhausts

2 and 3 chambered mufflers like that are fairly loud, and they drone pretty bad. The trick is to put a resonator before the muffler. I have used a Jones 3" in/out chambered round muffler as a resonator with a off brand 3 chambered muffler on a 2000 f150 4.6, and it did very good for shutting it up and removing most of the drone. Still had a nice deep throaty idle, and just enough bark at wot.

changes factory exhaust for louder on. doesn't like a loud exhaust...... sounds like you let other people's opinions of what's cool influence you into getting something you don't even like.
I agree so much I put the MBRP #5260BLK side exit and words cannot describe the mistake that was

@@Thepatton420 I was planning on putting the factory muffler on in conjunction with the exhaust and hoping it would tame the ridiculousness. Does the Walker stop the droning and rice burner insanity?
@@jesset4741 oh yeah my side exit sounds great compared to the way it sounded but at the end of the day it’s still a six banger. As far as drone I have none and exhaust note is pretty minimal in the cab
I don't understand why you didn't like the performance exhaust. I LIKE DRONE! I had a 1973 Mach 1 351C with single exhaust that I converted to true dual cherry bomb glass packs. I'd rather hear the drone than the damned 1970s songs on the radio! BTW: I put on a single Flowmaster (VX?) and one in-one out, and it gives me a great rumble on start, and driving in town low rumble. It does drone a bit at certain speeds and rpms on the road, which I LOVE! However, I'm a little disappointed on the first level of passing gear going around another driver - not much sound. Go to two passing gears at higher RPM, then it comes alive.
How long did that trash Flowmaster last you before it rusted off the truck? I had one on my truck that lasted 13 months
Dude bought an aftermarket exhaust to make his truck louder just to put the stock exhaust back on, then change the stock muffler to a Flowmaster that's sounds the same. Be a man and do a 3" straight pipe.
Flownasters always drone. You should have heard that if you researched- especially in pickup trucks

The F150 Coyote V8 won't sound like the Mustang Coyote V8 its just tuned differently.
It will with the right exhaust set up…mustangs have basically shorty headers from factory plus mid pipe either h pipe or x pipe and f150s have manifolds and most set ups are just a single to y muffler

U gotta wrap a rubber seal around the seam then bolt the clamp on top of rubber seal tighten. Bare Metal clamp and just the seams can’t seal.

No I returned that kit. Sounded terrible. I do not remember who it was. A no name company

You are very close to Summit I believe. Parts come quick to me. I think the sound is a great compromise between loud and quiet.

Nothing more annoying than the dreaded drone! I think most people don't realize the great sounding exhaust on the outside are unbearable on the inside. There are special mufflers that improve sound but don't drone

@@ethanstefan4349 14 f150 with a 5.0. 3in SI/ 2.5 DO super 10. Rear exit with quad tips, no resonator.
I know exactly what sound you were looking for. Keep the resonator and delete the muffler. Less than a $100 installed at a muffler shop, and an hour of your time. Sorry you had to go through all that man.
Guys spends thousands to make his truck sound exactly the same as it was at stock.
F.Y.I the Magnaflow street is what you wanted. It provides that low growl without those ear breaking cracks, pops and tinny high notes.
Wasn't the original 40 series, the delta flow is chambered different.
The delta flow is more of a mid aggressive sound. The 40s are aggressive

The exhaust was perfect!!! What a waste to put the resonator back on! Definitely limp mode! Why don't you put the muffler back onto so it can really be nice and quiet! 😟

That truck is gone, but all I did was replace the stock muffler with a Flowmaster Delta Flow 40. Video doesn't do it justice, but it sounded great!

Wrong .. firing order is the same unless it's a voodoo which is a flat plane crank
@@masterfurb1 11-14 or gen 1 has the same firing order.. 15 and up is different.. and is also speed density tuned instead of Mass air flow.. the gen 2 truck motor is totally different than the gen 1..
